Our delegate is The Stabilizing Force of 1 Infinite Loop who was elected 403 days ago.
As you know, the Pacifics are feeder regions. Currently the East Pacific contains 6072 nations.
Off-Topic Forums
The Off-Topic Forums haven't seen as much action as usual in the last few weeks for whatever reason.
Role-Play
Since Oct. 15, a major battle has been being fought in the East Pacific. Dovakhan, a socialist nation, closed its borders in a bid to bring itself out of debt by turning capitalist. To try and summarize as briefly as I can, Krechzienko, Vladistock Island and the Aquinas Network voted to remove Dovakhan from the New Socialist Union (NSU), and as rebels attacked the capital of Dovakhan, Krechzienko invaded. This prompted East Malaysia, Xiopothos and the Pax to come to Dovakhan's aid. At this point, Krechzienko called upon AquinasNet and Vladistock Island for assistance. Battle has been waging fiercely, atrocities perpetrated, and an unknown, not from the East Pacific, wiped out Krechzienko's food supply to keep an unknown project of their own out of jeopardy. As of today, Krechzienko has proposed peace talks in Rillanon, the Capital of the East Pacific. All parties have agreed to meet, and the President of the Free Pacific States has agreed to moderate.
This thread has spawned several others. In one, the East Pacific Treaty Organization (EPTO) removed the representative from Krechzienko from his position as Secretary-General, a position normally held for life. Gnidrah was elected in his place. The vote is still being tallied as to whether Krechzienko as a nation will be expelled from the EPTO.
In yet another related thread, neutral nations are meeting in 1 Infinite Loop to discuss the regional happenings.
Earlier in the month, one of the RP's was a "New Nation Reception", a way of encouraging new nations to engage in role-play along with some of the more experienced nations. It seemed to go over very well.
And that is it from the East Pacific. Feel free to post questions, and or comments. I'll be happy to answer what I can, and find out what I need to! ;D

Brief Update, from the Office of the Ambassador General:
The Secretary General of the EPTO has recently expelled the nation of Krechzianko from its membership within the organization. This was in response to a majority vote to expel the nation; the founder of the regional alliance. [Of course, it did not help that he threatened the Secretary General's life, either.]

November 13, 2005Off-Topic ForumsThe off-topic forums have been busier this week. One of our members, Krechzianko, has set up a new region, Old Europeania. In his words, more or less, it's set up to be pretty much straight-up, period role-play based on the era between the two world wars (1918-1940). If anyone is interested in this era, and wants to stick in a puppet nation or create a new one to fit the period, feel free to do so. Krech, I'm sure would welcome questions, or feel free to ask me. Role-PlayOur war in Dovakhan continues. Although a cease fire had been declared during the peace talks, the Pax (think Borg if you're a trekkie for an easy analogy although that's only partly correct), chose that time to attack mercilessly. Particle beams, plague, machines... At the same time, a group of metroids (check Wikepedia) run under a joint project by a renegade Free Pacific States (FPS) leader known as Pentastar and the Xiopothans (I think!) got loose, and started multiplying in Krechzianko. A team of 8 specialists was sent from FPS by Pentastar to try and destroy the metroids, currently some 5000 strong, and deadly. Believing the cease-fire to have been broken as a group of Krech students were attacked by the metroids, Krech ordered an end to the cease-fire. The Xiopothans were outraged at the resumption of battle, but on discovering that metroids were involved, became worried about the escape of one of theirs. As a result, they sent one of their most experienced agents to exterminate them, along with a message to Pentastar that things were being taken care of. It seems that the release of the metroids was accidental. We seem to have wheels spinning within wheels here! In Vladistock Island, the Minister of Commerce has just been assassinated. Fighting has again been halted as peace talks resume. The peace talks started with the rep from Krechzianko seemingly making few controversial demands. All parties were present with the exception of the Pax. A terrorist in a car bomb struck the building in which the talks were being held, and although he himself was killed, none of the other major players were hurt. Despite causing extreme distrust amongst the representatives, the talks are continuing. The representatives have just been joined by a Pax drone, and the contentious issues are now being discussed. In still another related thread, we move back to the EPTO Headquarters. After Gnidrah, the new Secretary-General tallied the votes of the EPTO members resulting in the expulsion of Krechzianko from the EPTO, the former representative was to have been led from the building. Outside the building, there are currently well over 700 protesters: 400+ well-organized ones from Krechzianko, 300+ supporting East Malaysia and Xiopothos, and a growing number of Pax drones. FPS is the only neutral nation in the EP which has over 1 000 000 drones living as citizens. Along with the protesters are 150 police in full riot gear. Unfortunately, by the time I finish posting this, doubtlessly some of it will be out of date ! And that's it for this week from the East Pacific. As always, please feel free to post comments and/or ask questions. I'll be more than happy to answer them! ;D

I know I said this in the EP, but I'll send a puppet to Krech's region once one becomes avaliable.

November 21, 2005Our regional delegate, The Stabilizing Force of 1 Infinite Loop was elected 420 days ago. At this point in time, the East Pacific, one of the feeders, sits at 6139 nations. Off-Topic ForumsAnother set of very quiet days on the off-topic forums. I have the feeling people are very caught up in reading the role-playing! Role-PlayingAs I write this, there is only one nation who has yet to sign the peace treaty. Barring any last minute craziness, peace has come to the East Pacific ! Vladistock City is trying to control an outbreak of the Red Plague. The Vladistockians are using draconian measures to control the spread by gassing, shooting and even using napalm on their own citizens, causing mass rioting. Foreign nations have closed their borders, and some foreign embassies in Vladistock are being attacked by the protesters. Danniston is tendering out contracts to upgrade their defense forces. Bidding has been fast and furious with five nations (I think...) involved. Parts of the general populace of Dannistan, however, are protesting the increase in military spending, and protests are occurring in both the outer suburbs and all around Embassy Row. During the hostilities in the East Pacific, Kandarin, a nation from another region, took genetic samples from both a metroid and a human girl. With the help of a Kangarawan geneticist, and with the advanced Kandarinese technology, a new "weapon" was created -- a metroid in the form of an 8 year old human girl who would not touch humans. All role-plays are still on-going (except the peace talks, I hope!), so more in my next report. As always, feel free to post comments and/or questions. I'll be more than happy to answer them, or find out the answers for you! :waves:

November 28, 2005The East Pacific currently contains 6085 nations, and our delegate, The Stabilizing Force of 1 Infinite Loop is in the 428 day of his delegacy. Off-Topic ForumsA little busier this week. Role-PlayRather a slow week in RP as well BUT the last signature finally made it onto the Peace Treaty! We have peace in the East Pacific. In a spin-off from the war, the funeral of Leif de Cervantes, Minister of Commerce from Xiopothos (car-bomb way back when) is currently taking place. Vladistock City is still under siege, with atrocities still being committed in an attempt to contain the plague. Classes are about to start again at Shiro Academy, an elite Space Force Training Centre in 1 Infinite Loop. Students may major in just about anything that they like, and there's truly no set plot line - just a group of students from different nations having fun. Between American Thanksgiving and the Canadian Grey Cup (football, for all non-Canucks), it's been a slow week in the EP (at least those are the factors I'm attributing it to -- turkey overload, etc. ) So that's it for this week from the EP! As always, feel free to post comments/questions and I'll answer everything I can, and find out the answers to the rest! :waves:

I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed, delegate! The Treaty has been signed, and all parties have copies. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. My ISP has been playing tricks--on one minute, off the next!

Ah, that's no fun. I shall have an update ready tonight; I haven't had one for about half a month now. I certainly hope that updates are more regular in this month and the next.
