January 4, 2006The East Pacific currently sits at 6081 nations, and The Stabilizing Force of 1 Infinite Loop is currently in his 464th day as delegate. As you'd expect, things were quiet in the EP over the holidays. On a personal note, I sincerely hope everyone in Hyrule enjoyed time with friends and family. I know I did. Off-Topic ForumsNow that the Pacific Interactive Forums are up and running again, they've been receiving a number of hits, but things have been pretty quiet all round. Role-PlayShiro Academy is still enrolling new students, including the long-hidden son of the Empress of East Malaysia and the murdered Emperor. Time will tell whether or not his enemies find a way to get to him there! We do need a student from Playstation Portable, though. A new RP, Ekibiyo, promises to give many of us nightmares given the stories about avian flu and possible pandemics. We have an outbreak of some type of swine flu, initially starting in Autumnwindz, spreading from one family in 1 Infinite Loop who had vacationed there, to classmates of the infected children, and from there to East Malaysia via a plane with a stopover in 1 Infinite Loop. We're at somewhere around 45 infected, and this is Day 1. From the ashes of the war in Dovakhan, a new Republic is being born. Currently the Dovakhanese Treaty Conference is being held in Rilanon to help form new alliances with the newly recognized government. That's all for now from the East Pacific. As always, feel free to post comment/questions/etc., and I'll answer what I can, or get answers to what I can't. :waves:

I don't think PlayStation Portable will be RPing anytime soon.

I believe PlayStation Portable is rarely, if ever, involved in RP.

I know, but it's such a shame! Besides, my character really needs a roomie, and I can't think of anyone I'd rather bunk with!

January 11, 2006
The Stabilizing Force of 1 Infinite Loop has now served as delegate for 471 days, and the East Pacific has experienced another growth spurt, sitting at 6298 nations. Please keep in mind though that all of the Pacifics are feeder regions!
Off-Topic Forums
The Pacific Interactive Forums are still providing rest and relaxation for a number of our members, but things are still a little slow as every returns to their daily routines following the holidays.
Role-Play
Students at Shiro are still in the "meet and "greet" mode, enjoying the time before classes actually begin. Rooms are beginning to fill up, so I suspect that the opening of term is not far off. We've already had one student throw a foul smelling, water-discolouring "something" into the girls side of the hot spring. More pranks to come, I expect!
In Ekibiyo, the virus is spreading, much as it would in RL given air travel, etc. Three more nations, FPS, Dovakhan and Kelssek have had planes land from Loop, all carrying passengers who were already carrying the virus. At the end of the second day of the outbreak, 1500 were known to be infected, 586 known to be sick and 2 already dead, and that was in Infinite Loop alone.
The Treaty in Rilanon establishing the birth of the Republic of Dovakan-Khanates continues.
If you recall, following the war in the EP, the Krechziankan representative was removed from the EPTO. Currently, with strict warnings from the General Secretary, Gnidrah, Krechzianko has once again been voted a member of the EPTO (East Pacific Treaty Organization).
As always, I welcome your comments and/or questions. Anything I'm unable to answer, I'll find an answer for. Take care! :waves:

Ahem. That is "Secretary General," not "General Secretary" of the EPTO.

Yes, Gnid, you are quite nitpicky about that. You're not "Secretary-General" either.

Ambassador flushes deeply, and bows profusely.
"My apologies, S-e-c-r-e-t-a-r-y G-e-n-e-r-a-l!"

January 18, 2006The EP seems to be sprouting again. Currently we sit at 6425 nations, many content to watch their nations grow and visit the forums periodically. Our delegate, The Stabilizing Force of 1 Infinite Loop is in the 478th day of his delegacy. "The East Pacific 2006 - A Candid Camera Special", a news broadcast featuring six or seven leaders of different EP nations, has been broadcasting all week. The commentator is quite good, and has hit on topics such as the Nekomimi Flu, issues the nations faced prior to the onset of the pandemic, and the war. I find myself waiting impatiently to see what the next newscast brings up. Off-Topic ForumsThe Pacifics Interactive Forums have seen a fair bit of use over the last week. Role-Play"Ekibiyo", the RP involving what is now being called the Nekomimi Flu, is heating up. Although still pretty much confined to the nations mentioned in my last report, Kandarin now has a case as well. FPS alone has 40,000 cases and with a mortality rate of 40%, at least one nation is looking at taking Draconian measures against its' own citizens should it become necessary. At least four nations are working on trying to isolate the virus and come up with some kind of effective anti-viral agent and/or a vaccine, but as in RL, this takes an inordinate amount of time. Flu shot, anyone? Shiro Academy is still waiting for classes to resume. One student still remains in hospital, but a very mixed bag of others are still getting to know each other. Short and sweet from the EP this week. As always, I welcome any comments/questions/concerns/etc. and will do my best to respond. 'Til next week! :waves:

January 25, 2006The East Pacific is growing again. Currently it sits at 6723 nations, and our delegate, the Stabilizing Force of 1 Infinite Loop has served the region for 485 days. The region was saddened and somewhat stunned by the announcement that Loop intends to resign from his position as delegate. No "official" announcement has been made as to who his successor will be, or exactly when the torch will be passed. Loop has indicated that he will still remain active in the region. I will keep you apprised of the situation. The Magisterial Assembly (effectively the EP senate) is currently housekeeping by cleaning up some of the wording dealing with the Rights and Code of Conduct of members of the EPA. Off-topic ForumsThere have been a few posts in our Lounge, and the Pacifics Interactive Forums have seen their usual number of visitors looking for a little rest and relaxation. Role-Play At Shiro Academy, one of our characters remains in hospital pursued by an ex-girlfriend, and we seem to have a budding romance on our hands, love letter and all. Our Neko Flu Pandemic is still a looming threat. It has now killed the Emperor of 1 Infinite Loop, whose daughter, the Empress, has been moved to safety aboard the Battlestar Pacifica. One of our more "volatile" nations has suffered more deaths rioting everytime someone sneezes than they have actual cases. It seems that there is also some skull-duggery going on! One of our newest nations, Qzecoatl, started its first RP by bring a nuclear reactor on-line. It takes a great deal of courage to jump right in, and Qzecoatl is to be congratulated. In our "Alternate Universe", the place where all evil nations sport goatees, Packilvania (remember Pack? "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.") has changed the colour of the sky from blue to a lovely (depends on your point of view , of course) tartan plaid. Needless to say, reactions have been somewhat mixed. Well, that's it from TEP. As always feel free to post comments/questions/*complaints* and I'll do my best to answer them. See you next week.

Post by Weekly Report on Feb 1, 2006 14:49:33 GMT -5
February 1, 2006I think someone is feeding the East Pacific growth hormones! Currently we sit at 7034 nations, and the Stabilizing Force of 1 Infinite Loop is in the 492nd day of his delegacy. The EP has been invited to participate in the Pacific Gallery of Art. As Head of the Department of Tourism and Regional Promotion, East Malaysia gladly accepted the added responsibility. Sadly, I must report that it would appear that our lovely tartan plaid sky has been allowed to return to its natural shade of blue. Role-PlayMost nations seem to have successfully quarantined regions where the Neko Flu has spread, but it is still emerging in other nations. The super-spy, Pentastar, from FPS, has plans to turn both the flu and a partly successful, though highly toxic, antiviral into chemical weapons. The nation of Kelssek has managed to isolate the virus itself, but a vaccine may be months or even years in the making. Due to fear and rioting, many of the nations where infections have occurred have experienced non-flu related injuries and hospitalizations.
It appears that four or five students from Shiro Academy have decided to use the remainder of the break to do some traveling. More as their itinerary unfolds. New students are still registering for the term.
The rioting in Dannistaan continues, partly over the new defense contracts, and partly over the flu outbreak.
Off-Topic Forums
The Lounge, our chat-about-anything-you-like forum has been active with topics ranging from the Canadian election (and a little American versus Canadian humour), the Palestinian election, the death of Coretta King, the Lunar New Year, and even a poll on what sex one of the RP's behind one of our nations is. The results were a wee bit disconcerting: 0% for indoor plumbing, 60% for outdoor plumbing and 40% for "other".
The Pacifics Interactive Forum has also seen a fair bit of action this week.
That's it for now from the East Pacific. As always, feel free to post comments/questions/concerns/complaints and I'll do my best to respond. Take care until next week! :waves:
