OOC: Some of this will become a lot clearer if you read my nation fact file. That, and feel free to make intelligence manuevers, but save the 'action' stuff until I allow it. And PM me with any questions. Moving on....
IC:
Wilderness of Vittorio Province, Canton Rouge
Inside a dilapidated log cabin far away from the hustle of the cities, three men of a terrorist organization known only as 'The Shop' were busy discussing deals with another terrorist organization they knew little about, but had done so much. What they needed was help for something they were going to do. Something that could alter the balance of power and alliances withing Hyrule.
One of the three directors of The Shop at the meeting turned to the party of the other terrorist organization, and said, "The Shop has come to a consensus. If we supply you with up to date weaponry and vehicles, will we insure your participation in our revolution?"
The head of the other party replied, "Indeed, that can be arranged. After all, we would love to see Canton Rouge fall from its position after what they have done to us. So tell me, what is your plan?"
"Simple, really. On December 16th, Canton Rouge has its annual Remembrance for all the war veterans and what not. And part of the ceremony has the leader making a speech. We'll assassinate Grand Moff Matthews as his convoy makes his way to the ceremony. At the same time, our organizations will attack military installations and the cities. With that, we will take over, and use our powers to make the rest of the world suffer."
"Great plan, my friend," the leader of the unknown organization replied. "But do you have the manpower to do it?"
"Indeed. Between our ever growing numbers of those fighting for the cause, and your numbers here in Europe, we possibly cannot lose."
"One last thing," the leader remarked. "What about the other Grand Moff, Johanna Blaskowitz?"
"She lacks experience, and the public doesn't trust her. Therefore, why worry about her?"
"Right you are, right you are," the leader said, smiling at how The Shop was so optimistic about this plan, and that now, with his forces behind it, success was guaranteed.
"But one thing puzzles me," said The Shop director. "What organization do you belong to, if I may ask?"
The leader did not need time to think at all about this. With a tone of anger now in his voice, he muttered, "Al Gedi. These Canton Rouge infidels and their allies exploit the Middle East. Their friend Nakarak is torturing one of our own, and it's high time we make the world pay."
"So it's settled then," The Shop director said, not showing any signs of relention. "We'll get all of the units we need into position for the 16th then?"
"Indeed." With that, the two men shook hands, and the members of The Shop took to their convoy, and sped off. The director was now making sure that everything would be in place for their revolution. He told everyone in his car that this revolution would succeed, even if they had to kill every soldier to accomplish it....
Sometime later, The Shop Command Post, Canton Rouge Wilderness
The Shop director who had attended the meeting turned to everyone assembled there, and told them of his new allies he had gathered. Cries of support were heard in response. After the cheering had occured, the director told everyone their intended locations and instructed them to get there ASAP. And as soon as everyone left for their assigned locations, the director turned to the moonless sky, and laughed.
"A revolution will occur soon. I will ensure total victory for my cause. Death will fly on those who support the Grand Moff and his allies," he said to himself. He was ready to become the next martyr for the terrorist war...

Grand Moff Matthews,
Nakarak wishes to thank you for all that you have sacrificed for us in the crisis with the Sword of Nakana. We wish to honor you by attending your Remembrance festival. I will personally be in attendance, along with five hundred Nakaran warriors. We hope that Canton Rouge will prospere and that Nakarak's recent success against Al Gedi and Ali Azakam will be oft repeated. Blood for the Gods, and death for our enemies!
Nakar Kor Chosen of Dar Leader of the Kingdom of Nakarak

Sometime later, wilderness of Canton Rouge
The Shop's director had gathered in twelve of his closest aids and war leaders to a dilapidated log cabin out in southern Canton Rouge. Once everyone had arrived, he called their attention to a map tacked onto a board. On the map were pins showing movements of all of his freedom fighters/militia and Al Gedi terrorists who were able to sucessfully infiltrate the country.
"Gentlemen," he addressed the crowd. "The plan is on for the 16th, which will be this Sunday. We have most of our regiments attacking the major cities and army bases in the country. The rest will secure the frontier lands and cause logisitics delays for Canton Rouge."
"But how will we coordinate all these attacks so that way they can't respond in a well enough manner?" asked one of the junior aides.
"Simple. When the convoy carrying Grand Moff Matthews car gets to within 20 meters of the Old Bernstadt Arch, our assassin will say the key codeword 'Praise the Revolt'. At that instant, everyone shall commence their attacks. We need to be fast enough to secure the nation within one day. Otherwise, we will lose our advantage of surprise, and it will become a war of attrition," the director continued.
As soon as he mentioned his plans, murmurs of excitement were heard throughout everyone in the cabin. As soon as everyone was done, the director concluded his briefing by saying, "Make sure you are listening in to your radios on the 16th. We can and will succeed if all of us can attack at once. Dismissed!"
All of the aides and generals then left the cabin, hopped in their automobiles, and left for their assigned area to oversee the attack. It was going to be a glorious day for the revolution, the director thought....
Meanwhile, Bernstadt, Canton Rouge
Grand Moff Matthews had just received the letter from his esteemed friend Nakar Kor, who had successfully reclaimed control of Nakarak from the scum that was Al Gedi. With that, he thought, that terrorist organization would be significantly weaker. He called one of his assistants over, and instructed her, "Because Nakarak and Nakar Kor are attending the Remembrance Festival, could you prepare for their accomodations by securing lodging in one of our antique castles, and ensuring more room for the delegate meeting when I prepare my speech?"
"Right away, sir," she said, and with a smile, she ran off to the preparations committee to tell them the news. Grand Moff Matthews then called for Grand Moff Blaskowitz to tell her something important. When she confirmed she would come over, he smiled, knowing that at least he could talk to her to get his point across.
"What did you want from me, Grand Moff Matthews?" Grand Moff Blaskowitz asked, feeling a little concerned.
"I've been thinking. Since you haven't been out and about with the public recently, I want you to take my place in riding the convoy to the speech area." he responded.
"But what about you, you have to deliver the speech!" she replied, having a mixed response of awe and shock.
"I'll take my private limo and take another path. Trust me, the public will be glad to see you, and their faith will be restored in you."
"Very well, I'll do it," she said, and after saluting each other, Grand Moff Blaskowitz left his office. To the Grand Moffs', it appeared that nothing would go wrong at the Remembrance Festival. It would be a great time for everyone...

Nakar Kor was sitting in his throne room, instructing several Dumaka on preparations for transport for himself and five hundred warriors who would be attending Canton Rouge's Remembrance Festival, as well as some supplies for Nakarak's garrison in that country. As he was arguing with one of the beuracrats over how much firejelly would be necessary to supply the troops, Dumakar Nemak burst into the room.
"I've already told you, ten thousand klekkts of firejelly will be more than sufficiant..." Nakar Kor broke off as he noticed Nemak. "What is it?"
Nemak paused for a moment, catching his breath. He then said, in an unusually quiet voice, "My lord, as you know, we have been successful in planting agents in many terrorist organizations, unfortunately, not Al Gedi. Our infiltration of other groups, however, has uncovered rumors of a plot to assassinate the leader of Canton Rouge and seize control of the country. Apparently Al Gedi has allied itself with a home grown terrorist group known as "The Shop". They haven't been a major presence before now, so our agents haven't been inserted in any of their cells. I can have the details for you by the time you leave for Canton Rouge. I will keep my spies on their highest alert."
Nakar Kor nodded. "Indeed," he said. "Might I also suggest that someone listen to Azakam? In his mad ravings he might reveal something important. I might visit him myself before I leave. I find his screams of agony...relaxing."
Dumakar Nemak saluted him, arms across his chest. "It will be so." He then left, so quickly and silently that he seemed to have vanished into thin air. Nakar Kor returned to his work. He would inform Grand Moff Matthews of this in person. No one else must know.

Southern Canton Rouge, cabin in the wilderness
The Director of The Shop had now officially finalized his plans for hsi revolution. There was no turning back now. He had everything in place, all the way down to the assassination point, which was an old archway/building built in the 15th century. The Director laughed at how easy he expected this takeover would be.
All of a sudden, a knock was heard on the door, to which the director said to come in. In came his chaffeur, who told him they needed to start their drive to Bernstadt. As The Director shut his laptop, and walked out to his old sedan, which was his transportation throughout the country. Once everyone was in, the sedan made its way onto the highway, speeding north to Bernstadt.
Inside the sedan, The Director was making a phone call to the assassin he had chosen for the attack. He had opted to use a rocket launcher, to ensure the attack would be a success. To this, The Director liked the idea, but warned him to be careful, as the rocket launcher was not exactly the newest one available, and to make the attack at the last second, to minimize any chances of escape. When The Director heard the assassin's confirmation, he smiled, and after exchanging farewells, he ended the call, confident in everything....
Bernstadt, Canton Rouge
Chaos had overtaken the area in which the Remembrance Day speech would be made. Between getting extra space for the Nakarakian party, the space for both Grand Moffs, and to put up the final decorations, no one was sure if it would all be done in time.
Inside the office of Grand Moff Matthews, he was talking to Grand Moff Blaskowitz, ensuring that she would be fine in the convoy, as it would be idiotic to attack her. To this, she still expressed concern, but stayed confident so as not to disappoint Grand Moff Matthews. And as soon as that was over with, she left his office, to prepare herself for the festival in a couple of days.
Meanwhile, Grand Moff Matthews looked out to the city, standing silent as the masses of people made their way throughout the city. What he was hoping for, was that the festival would not turn into panic because everything was ready. But soon enough, panic would come...
OOC: If anyone else wants in, nows the time.

REMEMBRANCE FESTIVAL
The day of the Remembrance Festival dawned on Canton Rouge, and people immediately gathered along the streets to get into position to watch the parade of troops and the much awaited Grand Moff traveling in the center, who would wave to the people. What the citizens didn't know was that instead of G.M. Matthews being in the convoy, he had instead chosen the other G.M., Blaskowitz, to take his place. With that, Matthews could arrive at the ceremony earlier to prepare for the arriving delegates from Nakarak.
As soon as it was time, G.M. Blaskowitz stepped into the open air limosuine that would serve as her transport from the Hall of Government to Grindelwald Square, where the speech was to take place. Flanked on the front and back by soldiers who were in their best uniforms, the convoy slowly started to rumble its way down the selected path. All along, despite Blaskowitz's low approval rating, the crowd was roaring with cheers for their leader and the nation. But what nobody realized was that trouble was waiting...
Somewhere along the parade route
The hired assassin was busy thinking about how to perform his attack, and how to escape once he had commenced his attack. Although he was a seasoned professional, never in his career had he killed an official of such high ranking. And he knew that his capture meant certain death. With a sigh, he cleared his mind and awaited the convoy to drive down under his archway so he could attack and get it over with...
Grindelwald Square
Grand Moff Matthews arrived at the square and saw that everything was ready for the anticipated speech he would make. Although none of the delegates from Nakarak had arrived yet, he was certain that they would soon be able to make their way here. While he waited, he took his position near his armed escort of six veteran soldiers and watched the broadcast of the parade on a wide screen television that was perched nearby. What he saw was that the convoy had just made its turn onto the Rue Des Chavaliers, the main avenue running through Bernstadt. And that was where the assassin was...
Archway overlooking Rue Des Chavaliers
Just then, the assassin saw the head of the convoy making its way down the boulevard. He quickly set up his rocket launcher, and waited for the Grand Moff's limosuine to arrive. And it was a long wait, as a never ending procession of soldiers marched down the avenue. But finally, the target limosuine was sighted heading down the road. The assassin grinned and waited for the right moment. As soon as the limo was within 30 metres of the archway, the assassin pulled up his radio, and whispered, "Praise the Revolt". Afterwards, he fired one shot from his rocket launcher, which in an instant, struck the limosuine dead on. What happened next was shear panic...

Immediately after the limosuine was struck, the soldiers started to look for where the assassin was, so they could bring him to justice. But almost simoultaneously, other attacks started to occur, with terrorists emerging and firing into the procession. The situation quickly turned to chaos as civilians were caught in the crossfire and soldiers falling, despite their best efforts.
At the same time, attacks all across the country were taking place, with terrorists grouping up to take control of the military bases and any key infrastructue points they could find. Although a few of their attacks were repulsed, most of them were sucessful, as the soldiers did not expect an attack to take place that day. And with the attacks occuring practically at the same time, it was next to impossible to coordinate a counter-attack.
Grindelwald Square
The instant the first attack took place, gunfire erupted nearby as the terrorists tried to take out anything of high value. But acting on instinct, Grand Moff Matthews and his bodyguards quickly loaded up into a nearby Armored Personnel Carrier, and waited to figure out what was going on. All around, they could see terrorists fire upon helpless civilians and soldiers who were trying to find said terrorists, but couldn't as the terrorists kept on changing positions.
Realizing that they were going to die if they stayed at their current position, the APC decided to try and escape the city by heading east towards Ft. Champlain, one of the very few places that was not under immediate threat. So after surpressing the terrorists on the nearby buildings, the APC started to speed its way through the carnage and chaos, determined to protect Matthews at all cost. They could only hope that they wouldn't fall victim to any assassins along their escape route...
Command Center Delta, underneath Bernstadt
Inside the command center, high ranked officials were watching the chaos on the news and on cameras mounted at key areas. What they saw was disheartening. Everywhere they looked, it appeared the terrorists were gaining the upper hand because they chose to fight in the sturdy stone buildings, which could not be razed to the ground quickly. And with the terrorists applying lessons in urban combat, the battle was quickly going downhill.
Although they knew it wouldn't be the best decision, the order to evacuate the city was given. The presiding general grabbed the headset, and started his announcement:
"Attention civilians of Canton Rouge. A terrorist attack is occuring right now here on the streets of Bernstadt. All civilians are to evacuate immediately. I repeat, evacuate immediately."
After finishing the speech, and ensuring it was set to be repeated, the general then watched the updates of the attack, and saw that elsewhere throughout Canton Rouge, the same thing was happening. The worst of the attacks right now, he noticed, were in Bernstadt and the northern parts of the country. He stopped looking at the distressing images, and then sat down, hoping that the world would help out. Otherwise, he knew that it would be the end of Canton Rouge...

Nakar Kor and his entourage arrived later than expected, due to the need to avoid a storm at sea. They arrived just in time to hear the announcement of a terrorist attack. Immediately Nakar kor rallied his forces and made for the square where Grand Moff Matthews was to make his speech. If anyone knew what was going on, it would be there.
As they moved through the streets, they were bombarded by machine gun fire. Several warriors were killed outright, and the rest dove for cover. Nakar Kor assembled one squad of fifty troops to kill as many of these terrorists as possible. Both he and they knew that none would survive.
Throughing a few firejelly bombs to suppress the terrorists, Nakar Kor and the rest of the warriors kept moving. When the fighting grew too fierce, he left behind another fifty troops. Between casualties and assault squads, only half of the troops made it to Grindelwald Square. The terrorists here looked they had already taken some damage, and in some of the fiercest fighting he had ever been in, Nakar kor and his troops managed to kill some and drive the rest away from the immediate area.
Finding themselves with some breathing room, the Nakaran warriors began searching for survivors. There were few. Those who were found were moved into a small building, and a dozen brave souls set to guard them. After some quick questioning, they discovered which way Matthews' APC had headed, and they followed on foot. Hopefully they would catch up in time to protect the Grand Moff and stop the terrorists, or at least to die with honor in the attempt...

As the Nakaran warriors started to make their way down the avenue to the APC, they were stopped by a Canton Rouge soldier. He made his way over to the warriors, and told them, "You're in luck. Grand Moff Matthews APC is three blocks away. Hopefully, you get there before they...", and his sentence was cut short because a bullet rang out, which caught him square in the neck. As the Nakarans threw firejelly to surpress the sniper, the dying soldier turned to Nakar Kor, and said with his last breath, "Send those terrorists....send them to Hell..." and he died after finishing his death speech.
Meanwhile, the Nakarans decided to continue their advance to the APC, so as not to lose sight of it. Luck was on their side when they saw the APC, being defended by a couple of soldiers who were able to fight their way over to its location. And when the Canton Rouge forces aw Nakar Kor and his warriors, relief came about because at least he was alive and had backup.
The APC commander voiced over the vehicles intercomm that they were close to the city exit, and that they would be safe once they got out of the city. Just then, another transmission from Command Center Delta came in.
"Sir, reports of numerous scattered firefights are coming in. We're losing soldiers trying to fight them off. What do you think we should do?"
Inside the APC, Grand Moff Matthews thought it over. Although he would regret what he would say, he knew it would be the only way to save as much as he could. He then replied, "Order all soldiers to get out of Bernstadt, and proceed to Ft. Champlain. We can regroup there. It's our only option to retake the city with full force."
Although everyone was in shock, they understood that it was the best option available right now. With the order for all soldiers to evacuate being sent out, Grand Moff Matthews instructed the combined group of Nakarans and Cantons to head out of town. And at once, the APC set out, keeping at the same speed as the foot soldiers so as not to seperate them. Other than brief firefights with the terrorists, the convoy was able to break out of the city and enjoy a relatively smooth rest of the way to Ft. Champlain...
Ft. Champlain, outside of Bernstadt
Once the convoy arrived at Ft. Champlain, the true extent of the amount of casualties from the attacks had begun to stack up. All around, victims of the attacks were being tended to. The ones that got out that is. Upon seeing Grand Moff Matthews and Nakar Kor arrive, the morale of the troops inside the base was raised; knowing that they were alive brought a sense of relief.
Grand Moff Matthews exited the APC and headed over to the operations center to get the latest on the situation. What he found out was shocking. Although the southern part of the nation wasn't badly attacked, everywhere from Bernstadt up north was under a full assault. The one good thing gotten from the situation report, was that the airport had not been assualted yet.
The Grand Moff then turned to Nakar Kor, and told him, "If you have any other soldiers you wish to send in, at least they should be able to arrive because the airport is still under our control." He tried to stay confident throughout the whole scenario, but he knew that it was not looking good for everyone. And, he hadn't received any intel on the status of Grand Moff Blaskowitz. He hoped that she was alive, but he also knew that she wouldn't last long inside the city without any help.
Thinking the situation over that, Grand Moff Matthews knew he needed to raise the soldiers morale. With the setting sun and the rising smoke creating a reddish black sky, he turned to all of the soldiers inside the base, and made a speech to encourage everyone to fight on:
"Men, we stand right now at Canton Rouge's darkest hour. The terrorists believe they can win, but they will not stand long against our forces. Fight strong, fight hard, and we will prevail!"
Cheers from everyone roared across the base, as a new sense of confidence came into the soldiers. Now, everyone was wating for more soldiers to arrive, so they could begin the task of reclaiming the capital, even if it would be block by block, and yard by yard. Grand Moff Matthews meanwhile, set up shop at a radio post, and made the announcement to the world that Canton Rouge would prevail in the struggle against terrorism.
Before it would be too late, Grand Moff Matthews turned to Nakar Kor, and told him, "I take it you'll be heading back into the fray. I only hope you'll survive out there. Seeing that we are getting some of the chaos around the country cleaned up, more soldiers and hopefully aerial support will arrive."
As the sun continued to set, everyone was watching the capital burn. Although it was a sad thing to see, they knew that soon, they would return. And soon, death would come to those who tried and stop them. They would return to the capital, the hard way...

Nakar Kor nodded, saying, "It will take time to rally more support while still here, and more time for the troops to arrive. Two days at least to have any amount of troops worth bringing. I can send the orders, but I believe our best hope would be to rally any Nakaran troops from the garrison I sent that are still alive and nearby and counterattack with whatever we can muster. The Gods know that we don't want them to get any more entrenched. But even if they have all the time in the world to prepare their defences, they shall fall. For we are Nakarak!" This last cry was addressed to his troops, and there was only a single soldier, wounded or otherwise, that did not stand and shout with the others, and the only reason he didn't stand was because he had but one leg. The Nakaran forces still had plenty of fight left in them, and they would slaughter these infidel scum.
Nakar Kor turned back to Grand Moff Matthews, "We shall fight, and I shall be there. The Gods watch over me as I purge the land of the Al Gedi scum." He paused, then said, "I have had an idea. Send word to Nakarak. Tell them to broadcast live feed from Ali Azakam's cell in the Pit. Let us see how brave these terrorists are when they hear the horrors that await them. Even Nakaran warriors fear the Pit, and we are made of sterner stuff than them." He smiled, the fierce smile of one who believes victory and glory are assured, for one more day at least. He gave Matthews the proper codes to summon the troops and start the broadcast, and then he went among his troops, helping tend the wounded as best as possible, and performing the funeral rites for one warrior who had lost an arm and half of his face to an RPG. He had lasted this long on adrenaline alone, and that was only borrowed time. The solemn tones of the Nakaran death hymn filled the building, voices rising and falling in a prayer to the Gods for an honorable fate for the fallen warrior. Even the Canton Rouge forces, who could not understand the words of the foreign tongue, were touched by the song, and the Nakaran warriors all fell silent, honoring their fallen comrade. Nakar Kor and two of his cretchmates sang the hymn:
"Many years has walked this man Beneath the gaze of sun and star. Now he returns to the home he knew Before life's spark came to his eyes. May he be given a warrior's rest And honor for his clan and kin. He has earned the peace of death. May his strength pass on to those who live. May we continue on this day, Until at last we too are dead, And we have earned a warrior's rest, And our sons shall sing this song for us."
Night fell, and one by one, they drifted off to sleep.

"...total chaos here in Canton Rou..."
*Shissh*
"Details are not forthcoming and the situation here seems to only be getting worse..."
*Shissh*
"Johan? Johan? What is the situation like there? Jo..."
*Shissh*
The television set of Consul Cicero was shut off, the color of the broadcast giving way to the blackness of the TV screen. Cicero set the TV remote down on the couch pillow next to him. His wife came into the room.
"What's all that commotion about?"
"I haven't the slightest idea and it doesn't look pretty...", the Roman Senator responded.
"Are you leaving now?"
"Yes, in a bit."
"The fridge is almost empty. I'm going to go do some shopping. I guess I'll see you later on tonight?"
Still recovering from his injuries Cicero simply nodded in response, drawing a kiss from his wife before she exited the room leaving the Senator sitting on the coach staring straight ahead at the blank TV screen. Cicero slowly got up and changed into his toga, preparing himself for the afternoon meeting of the Senate. The Romans are still a modern people living in a modern nation and world although their leaders give an appearance that would argue otherwise. The ancient style of dress was reserved only for Senators and most only wore their togas during the sessions of the Senate.
Within the past few months change had come to Rome, most notably economic and political change. The two simultaneous rebellions in Dacia and Spain had strained the Roman economy as it was not meant to be a economy of war. During the days of Mussolini wars were common and the economy was one where a quick and powerful response was possible without harming the efficiency of the economy, but the Senate changed that when the Roman Republic was declared and the two recent rebellions caused the economy to slip into a recession. From there, inflation began to soar, only adding to the quickening recession, and within a couple of months many feared a full scale depression was imminent. This growing recession and fear lead many Senators to propose radical and frequently ridiculous remedies to the situation.
Things only began to even out when many realized that change within the SPQR itself was needed. Many Senators became disheartened by the situation and resigned, some died, while others began, for the first time, to look around and find people who could help. That help came in the form of economists and very successful businessmen who just happened to be immigrants. One such immigrant, from the nation of Canton Rouge, was named Richard Nixon. Nixon had made millions in his homeland, but choking federal taxes in Canton had prompted him to consider moving himself, his business, and his family elsewhere. Eventually he made his way to the Roman Republic and within several years managed to solidly ingrain himself within Roman culture and life. Now Rome was, and still is, notoriously known for its citizenship requirements and while Nixon was a respected businessman and millionaire he was only granted Latin citizenship, the second class of citizenship. The classes of citizenship, in order of rank from lowest to highest, were Common, Latin, and Roman. All citizens could vote, but only Latin and Roman citizens could own and run businesses. Likewise, only Roman citizens could be selected as Senators. While resenting the laws that were in place Nixon did what he could to fall into place. Fast forward 8 years when Rome was not looking to grand from either the inside or the outside and Nixon was eager to help his country, looking to better his situation. However, real change was made in the Senate and Roman law stated that only Senators within the Senate could choose Roman citizens to replace Senators lost by resignation or death.
With nearly 48 Senators resigning and another 3 dieing more than half the Senate needed to be replaced. Bureaucrats from all over the Republic were sworn in as Senators, yet the situation only became worse. Finally several Senators looked to the people and began employing professors, economists, and businessmen, one of which was Richard Nixon. The Senators promised the men that their citizenship would be upgraded and Nixon was promised consideration for a Senate seat, but once the economic crisis began to clear it became increasingly clear that Senators were only playing word games and would not fulfill their promises.
Turning to the one man he came to know well Nixon looked to strike back. After Nixon spoke to Consul Cicero about the scandal Cicero saw an opportunity not only to help a friend but to lash out at political enemies as well. Once the press got wind of the scandal a wildfire erupted and within a week 12 more Senators left the Roman Forum, only these had the disgrace and dishonor of banishment from the Consul. Although the scandal had come and gone people like Nixon, with the help of the PBC and other news outlets, began to pressure the few Senators left to pass legislation allowing Senators to be voted in by the people, regardless of citizenship class. Realizing that the Republic had come to a crossroads they decided unanimously to pass such legislation and soon Richard Nixon put his hat in the race.
With no surprise the Senators who voted to pass the legislation were re-elected into the Senate and were now combined with members of society that they had never conversed with before. Traditionalists were enraged but were powerless as the numbers against them were staggering and so while Roman citizens again populated the Roman Forum they were not singular, but still a majority. The election of Senate positions was still left up to the members of the Senate and unsurprisingly the former war veteran and Consul, Cicero, was selected as one of the Consuls. At his side would be the revolutionary himself, Richard Nixon. A new day dawned on the ancient and legendary city of Rome...
OOC: Sorry for the long post, I shortened it at the end a bit. This post was pretty much a summary of my absence and the next post is a continuation of this post beginning where I left off with Cicero in his house...Sorry again for the double post

Cicero left his comfortable house and began to make his way to the Roman Forum. Unlike many other Senators who purchased extravagant houses Cicero liked the simplicity and comfort of living among the people close to his actual place of business. Cicero had become a Roman hero after his stand in Spain, but rose to new heights when Nixon made it clear that Cicero was the man responsible for "cleaning house" in the SPQR. Cicero and Nixon now stood as the icons of Rome, untouchable by print media, late night and satirical shows, editorials, and political cartoons. Not since Mussolini had a figure been as popular and famous in Porcu.
As Cicero walked down the brick streets of Rome he was always happy to see people wave and smile at him. Occasionally he would get a small chant of "Ci-cer-o! Ci-cer-o! Ci-cer-o!" from a group of young adolescents, always brightening his day. Upon entering the Forum the chanting gave way to the low rumble of men discussing and arguing. All had the events within Canton Rouge on their minds and the session began with that very topic opening up the conversation.
A few hours later a decision had been reached by a majority that Rome would assist the Grand Moff (Matthews) and his efforts to restore peace to Canton Rouge. However, it could not be decided whether military aid would be extended so Cicero and Nixon decided that a covert MI6 agent would be sent to analyze the situation and report back. A general telegram would be sent to Grand Moff Matthews to see if Roman assistance was even wanted. ============================================
To The Esteemed Grand Moff Matthews of Canton Rouge,
Events transpiring within your nation have alarmed and worried many in the SPQR. Although, at one point we were on opposite ends of alliances we hope that a new and better relationship can be forged. Rome is ready and willing to lend her hand in this fight against terrorism if you should so choose to approve.

Grand Moff Matthews nodded at Nakar Kor, and after receiving the codes, he went over to the base broadcasting center. Inside, he found the radio, and after tuning the radio to the correct frequency, he started to play the broadcast. After receiving confirmation from the Nakaran end that the codes were received, Matthews sighed. He knew that this was not the situation he wanted to be in, but at least he had to stay strong for the nation.
He then tuned in to the three army centers, Army South, Army East, and Army North. He at least wanted a situation report from them to see how things were turning out. He first tuned into Army South, where they maintained authority over the wilderness and farmlands that were the Vittorio Province, and the reaches of northern France. What he received really boosted his spirits:
"Army Group South is reporting in. Apparently, these terrorists can't seem to fight out on the farmland and plains out here, and very few of them decided to fight in the cities. We expect that within a few hours, we'll have everything under control. Out."
Matthews then tuned in to Army East, who watched over the eastern front of the country. They responded with news similar to Army South, but added that because of more of them hiding in the urban areas, it would be a little longer to secure the area. Finally, Matthews asked Army North what their situation was like, and they told him that it was a bit of a struggle, on a count of the terrorists moving through the heavily urbanized north, and the need not to destroy too much infrastructure. But they also said that because more soldiers were in the northern part of the country as well, they hoped the area would be under control in a matter of days.
Seeing that at least the entire country wasn't going down, Matthews decided to get some rest. But right before he could, an aide that managed to escape handed him a letter sent from the SPQR. When he read that they would be ready to help out, he immediately radioed in to Rome that whatever they could do would be accepted wholely. Now that the world was helping out, it appeared that the end of this would be near...
A few days later, Ft. Champlain
All across the base, and including the adjoining airstrip, the gathering of soldiers from not only Canton Rouge, but also from Nakarak and the SPQR made it look like the world was ready for a fight. Inside the airfield, support personnel were busy arming the helicopters and aircraft from all the nations. And lined up right on the main road through the base was a swarm of armour and other vehicles.
With the massive coalition now in Canton Rouge, everyone agreed that the time had now come to reclaim Bernstadt from the invaders. Before all of the soldiers decided to leave for the front however, Grand Moff Matthews decided to motivate everyone with a speech:
"Fellow soldiers of the nations of Canton Rouge, Nakarak, and Porcu, the hour of liberation is at hand!" Immediately, cheers erupted from the soldiers. "We have come so far from the past few days from terrorists acheiving near control of the country, to now, they are only in posession of a few scattered areas.
I would like to point out that this will not be an easy task. The enemy knows that we are coming, and he will be prepared. He will use hit and run tactics to ensure their goals of completing their coup d'etat.
But this will not be! Through this time of chaos, the nation has never been so closer to the world than ever. With your abilities, I have complete confidence in all of you. We will prevail against these terrorists. Good luck, and may liberty and victory guide us to the end." After finishing his speech, the soldiers once again cheered loudly, and readied themselves one final time. The mood was high, and morale was stronger than ever. Suddenly, over the P.A. system, a voice boomed, "All units, all units. Irene! I repeat, Irene!" That was the signal for the start of the liberation of Bernstadt. With it, the engines of all the vehicles revved up, the soldiers started to proceed to their transports, and the helicopter rotors started to whirl.
As soon as the second go command was issued, everyone started to exit out of the base and onto their designated operations area. Although some groups had different objectives than others, they all tied into securing Bernstadt, and thus removing the terrorists last bastion of any major defense. Everyone agreed that now, the time had come to remove the invaders from the capital...
Inside Bernstadt
An eerie silence was over Bernstadt. Although a few soldiers had managed to garrison themselves, it was mostly full of Al Gedi and Shop terrorists. Despite having control of the city, the rest of their plans had failed miserably. The only thing that made it all up was their possesion of the massive harbor. With it, they could at least send in a few more assetsm provided they made it to the harbor without being sunk by bomber aircraft.
Inside the Hall of Government, The Shop's director mumbled over the reports he received that the majority of his forces who did not participate in the attack on the capital had now been either killed or captured. He knew that part of it was the delayed reaction between some of his forces, but most of it was because the terrorists didn't bother going after the high priority targets he listed out.
Although he still had numerous freedom fighters still capable of fighting in the city, he knew that soon, the revolution would be over because of arriving reinforcements for the coalition. He just had to buy time to make the revolution appear bad for Canton Rouge, and they would be forever shunned. He was unaware of the fact that now, his revolution would soon end...

Nakar Kor had decided that, along with the troops, some of the old war drums would be brought out. It would help to evoke Nakarak's image as a primal warrior society, and hopefully intimidate the terrorists. It was unexpected, and that alone could help throw them off their guard. Thus Nakar Kor marched at the head of the Nakaran forces, twenty thousand strong, all battle ready and fierce. Nakar Kor spoke with Grand Moff Matthews before departing, "The Nakaran forces will try to remain consolidated, to maximize the psychological impact. Any of your troops that can cover us would be welcome. We'll try and sweep straight in like a hammer blow, pushing for the harbor. From there we cut off both reinforcments and escape, provided you maintain air superiority. But such are matters for your forces. As for me, I shall give the gods much blood today." He turned to the Nakaran forces. "Go forth now! Go forth to war, and send these infidels to their eternal torment! Go forth to war, and to a glorious death! Leave none alive!" The Nakaran forces marched forth, battle drums resounding in deep bass tones, warriors chanting their war cries, calling on the Gods to accept this offering of blood. Nakar Kor marched at the head of the column, his sword unsheathed to gleam darkly in the sunlight.
The Nakaran column arrived near the edge of the city, with a small number of Canton Rouge and SPQR forces to provide tactical cover. They charged into the city, quickly receiving fire from terrorist forces. Quite a few troops were cut down, but the combination of the primal battle drums and the sheer savagery of the Nakaran forces, who threw their lives away with reckless abandon and literally hacked the Al Gedi and Shop forces to pieces, led to a nearly total route, with most of the terrorists fleeing in abject terror before the war machine that was Nakarak. Several more times, the terrorists attempted to stand, but each time they were driven back. They finally arrived at a plaza which was designated as a rally point for this portion of the assault. They secured the area, and Nakar Kor contacted Matthews over a portable radio. He said, "We have reached the rally point. Enemy forces are breaking before us. Are there any objectives which need assistance? Securing the harbor looks like it will be far easier than expected. I have troops to spare, though many have perished. We've lost about fifteen percent, with another ten percent wounded, but we still have fifteen thousand men ready to storm the harbor, along with most of the forces you sent along. The Gods will be pleased." He too was pleased. The battle was going remarkably well, and he had more than twenty kills to his credit. He had taken a bullet to the shoulder, but the wound was minor. Most of his troops were still spoiling for a fight. These infidels wouldn't know what hit them.

PBC Radio News Minute
"Hello everyone, my name is Luca Grosso and this is the PBC News Minute..."
*Music of the Porcu Broadcasting Company*
"Pockets of resistance continue to be a thorn in the back of Coalition troops currently fighting in Canton Rouge. After a brief but severe chain of attacks on densely populated cities and military bases the terrorist group known as "The Soup" has only a few minor strongholds left, one of which is Bernstadt. Coalition troops comprising of SPQR, Nakaran, and Canton forces have begun the liberation of Bernstadt, with attacks beginning early this morning. While civilian deaths from the initial terrorist attacks are still being counted it is expected that the death toll, including coalition soldiers, will rise into the thousands. Consul Marcus Cicero has expressed his optimism in the success of the Coalition, 'Some of the world's finest troops are now combined on the field of battle to combat this horrible enemy and I have no doubt in my mind that peace and stability will be brought back to the people of Canton Rouge.'"
"That was this hour's PBC News Minute. I'm Luca Grosso, thank you for listening..."
