You shouldn't have left in the first place! Strangely, isn't it, how this topic suddenly became off-topic... I think it's a virus that spreads these forums... Every attempt for serious discussion is thwarted by it! But, hell, what's wrong with a bit of off-topicness! (Now I'm gonna say something really smart:)
It's a place where randomness and sillyness are highly acclaimed! A place where you can be free! (Save for me then, the megalomanical Ex-Grand Judge...)And yet another of my $0.02: I think it's in the forum's best interest to remain NationStates 1-only and to create a new forum for the NationStates 2 region (which I will probably be joining)... And no, I don't think this forum (or its region) will die off because of NS2 (but it wont expand either).

Actually, if anything such threads and attempts for serious discussion really do bring about a slight increase in activity, especially from people that haven't been around the forums in a while.
If all are in agreement we can vote on Hyrule's official course of action...But that is if we want to...

Well I think the only logical thing to do would be to create a new forum for a new game...
It will keep everything much more organized I think.

If the majority want a new forum in a (future) poll then me and Ness will start at once (when we determine it is a good time to make the serious actions pending NS2) in re-creating this board on a different service. It will pretty much look like this one and serve as a NS1/2 base of operations, which will make, this board a memorial board and ending the operations of the NS1 era government.

Why can't we keep this forum?

Why can't we keep this forum? That's a good question, actually, see we do go on topic but we love to go off topic too. xD.

You shouldn't have left in the first place! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! But I'm back, it's gotta count for something... And I agree it would probably make more since to have a new forum for a new game, but either way is fine with me.

To stay on topic for at least one more post I agree with Krits on this one. It's not that I don't see the point in creating a new forum, but to me the real question is if it is really necessary? Can we do with what we have and not try to complicate things any more than they have to be (which I think this new forum will do)? For me this forum can easily serve all the purposes that a new forum would for NS2. In other words, there is nothing in NS2's new gameplay that I think can't be covered by this forum. Besides, with the way things are right now in this forum do we really need to split up and create a whole new one to be managed and looked after?

Why bother with a new forum? If its just going to be for a region of Hyrule again, is there genuinely any point in having a new forum?
I say stay with this one as a combined NS and NS2 forum, otherwise it will just get too dificult to manage. Plus this way we can continue as we have with RP etc without having to start completely anew.

Why not have a think at mergin with our Region?
We could Double Activity that way and help each boost alot of things.

I think our pride would get in the way of that...That or we're not that desperate just yet...

Why not have a think at mergin with our Region? We could Double Activity that way and help each boost alot of things. From my personal observations over the last four years, regional mergers typically fail. I know of very few regions that have actually merged and lasted. The only one I know to have worked out is the formation of Uroca and that really doesn't count since the former regions basically has the same members. Nonetheless, dropping my professionalism, Hyrule ppls have a unique patriotism when it comes to territory and I know for a fact it would split the region in two. Personally, I don't want to deal with that under my care again. The Hyrule Spit, that lead to the creation of The Great Land of the Moon, was plenty regional drama. Not to make it seem like I shot you down: Thanks for the offer but on behalf of the Region of Hyrule, we will have to respectfully reject the offer.

The Great Land of the Moon saga was pointless and idiotic. I dont think merging would be a good idea either, we are just too stuck in our ways here.

Question: is it possible to have two forums? One for NS1, one for NS2... of course, this will lead to high maintenance and probably two different chatterforums and RPforums... Just a random thought...
