whew I'm still alive.
As for MoI, I will let Sir Metz take the MoI but I still plan on recruiting, just like I think everybody should. I just can't anchor the recruitment drive.

I hate to be a depressing voice amidst all this optimism, but with NS1's declining population, and NS2's emminent release, I say that a recruiting drive would be worse than useless, it would be a waste. We might get one or two nations, but that isn't enough. I have been with this region since I started NationStates, and I have never seen this much of a depression. This is horrifying. I say that when NS2 comes out, we start a new Hyrule there, and keep this forum, and let the one we live in now fade into NS1 history as a legend. I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but we have tried to recruit new people, we have tried to create better RP's, we have tried to recreate Hyrule (H4T), and all has failed. I don't know how, and I don't know why, but our region is struggling to hold on to existence. I have said my piece and you do whatever you are going to do, and if I turn out to be wrong, then I'll happily return to the optismistic person I was, but if I turn out to be right, just don't say I didn't warn you.

Well Tallsville, I see your point, but I think some people are happy with life in NS1, and wanted to try to keep these forums alive. Plus, the NS2 game seems like it will be different from NS1, and therefor we will not be able to just "Transfer" these forums into the new game. We can still copy the skin for a new forum (Which I think we should do) but we may have to have a different set-up for the forums, and different things may be needed. ...If its like what I think it may be like...you might want to take a look at a Cyber Nations Forum, you can basically say goodbye to Role-play

I'm Pro Keeping this forum because I would like to keep NS1/2 Hyrule's United and the good news about any forums, they can be changed with the times (and if NS2 has no RP, then we must FEED the starved RPers!). But my opinion does not count since I am the Co-Admin and did pretty much design this theme. (With ProBoards, you cannot simply copy the skin, btw, because their is no code for it the way they have it where you make it) If NS2 is like Cybernations, then bye-bye EM (okay I'll stay in NS1); I hate CN. xD. NS2 I think will be possibly a split of NS/CN. from Q and A with Max Barry!I wonder how much it is going to cost to actually get the true experience; at least you know that everyone heavily active much be a payer; I may become one myself. I am going to voice an opinion on what Talls said (I seem to be going in reverse). H4T did work for the most part, but this year has been quite odd. The Summer Slowdown started early--too early--which has an effect. The last time I seen it this slow was the Summer of 2004 [so NS does have its cycle and in my 4 years, this has been the worst]. Also key people have left the region...forever...and some are gone for now. Beloved Nessie is pretty much not here now but she has told me before that she'll 9/10 pick up when NS2 arrives. If this region goes wayward, well it wont die because I need somewhere to park NS1 nations! xD. This is a fact: if you get the right person(s) to recruit, then you would be surprised to see what can happen. The best recruiters I have seen are from when I first joined this region. Depends on the person. $0.02

I agree with the feeling that it won't be a waste to continue recruiting within NS1...Even when NS2 comes out we can still use this forum as the HQ for the different regions. Pretty much the only reason I keep my nation alive on NS anyways is for the RPing I can do here and in the European Continent.
So for my sakes, FEED THE STARVED RPers!

Is this a bad time for me to have joined? a good time for me to have cold feet? Or shall I be usefull? I'm afraid that I am not on enough throughout the day to do much recruiting and frankly I know little yet of Hyrule's "legacy" or ways but I seem to like it here..I could imagine others doing so as well...for an outsider's opinion (which may not count for much here) if you are wanting new folks to stay..then you need to foster an environment within which they will want to stay. Milking the "we poor originals back in the good ol days" bit will drive away noobs for sure. While hanging out with the old crowd is most comforting...eventually there is nobody left to hang out with.......much less provide influence.

eyemanWe love young blood! I am a bit thirsty. xD No, really, what Porcu said. We really need to put together a history of Hyrule to show new ppls that this region is essentially a place for all people to come and have a good time. That can come after we get past this bump in da road. I tend to think that Hyrule is a very welcoming community to new comers verses lets say from The East Pacific, which notorious for its role play. I also view as most of the people here as newer verses old like me, which may not be true in NS but I do beat most of them Hyrule-wise. I am a believer that us old guys/gals can't be keeping things dusty and I can say me and Ness love to shake up things where the "other old ppls" tend not to; but I have faith in that all old dogs can learn new tricks. As the majority of the time, I have no clue what point I am making as, but I feel it may be a good point or two. With the onset of NS2 (I make it sound like a cancer <_<) many NSers are waiting for it before they come back to NSality or possibly some of the fun people will come back xD...even tho they liked to take over regions....nonetheless.... ....Eyeman your timing does not matter. Good or bad, you're here now and you like it; that is all that matters. If you want to see some of the past, just look through some of the old post (House of Members (under the Senate), rules, games, RP, etc etc etc), and you can learn something or another. And so what if you can't recruit, I have trouble finding the time to do so myself (I think I am going to try and do 5 nations a day--Sir Metz, I might request days where I recruit...least I can do since I em legend && need to do something more) The end. I was just doing what EM does best...xD...I home I am helpful in assisting you somewhat Eyeman. New or not, post what you want. Even if it is crazy sounding we'd be glad to hear it. I have said plenty of crazy stuff...like....Creating a Toolbar for Hyrule (which came true) and I'm the owner of hyrule.org (thanks to google all members can have a site for their nation--all they got to go is sign up at hyrule.org). Re: The End. :] I'm sorry for the length and rambleness of this post.

I actually wonder how RP is gonna save the region... I find this is primarily (the dodecahedron) a chat forum (and a pretty funny one too )...

If you want to request days where you Recruit, please let me know. That will help me out a lot to be honest. ANd Eyeman, post when and where you want...do what you want, and just have fun Thats allI can really tell you. When I came here I had no idea what to do, so I went to an area that I thought would be fun, and put a few posts up...people reacted well to them, and so then I did more, and then branched out. Im sure you will be fine here, and if you have any questions, any of us would be glad to help

with all the drama aside and being as I sit in the noob's chair....WHAT IF: NS2 doesnt have to change us at all? what if we make sure we jump the shark and paste ourselves right in the thick of things from the get go and then possibly scoop up even more newcommers, scoop up even more land, and keep this url so that not only will we have the benefits of the new world but the comforts of the old? I would imagine that a lot of wheel reinventing would take place but with all the prior knowledge in this region, surely this could be accomplished rather quickly. Of course there is risk involved having to rebuild one's stats but there remains the possibility of accomplishing even higher stats especially since most of you are already familiar with the general concepts of this game (a leg up on the future newcommers to ns2) it would be kind of like college freshmen sneaking back into high school and getting the chance to change things for the better having already known what to expect.
just a thought from the great clueless one. If we decide as a group to stay here - then I have made a choice to stay as well unless ns1 shuts down ( a forseeable future) and even then...who says this off site couldnt evolve into a complete entity of its own??

Hyrule, if you ask for my humble opinion, has always been more of a chat forum where people and simple login every now and then and get to know everyone else in the region. Those individuals that RPed for the longest time were simply part of a small group, very much separated from the other members of the forum. That may end up being the big pull for newer nations, the fact that this region and this forum is mainly for chit-chatting and getting to know the other nations in the region. RPing is sound here or at least has the ability to be with veterans like Rob and myself but it will be a sub-point. I think I may also request a day every now and then to recruit and say that I'm doing something for the region

Yes I would have to agree that it is more of a chatterbox (hehe Remember that old name? xD) and even though I am a role player...Hyrule just has never been my calling (yet maybe?). I like The East Pacific style and that is where I play. I like to chill over here and do mah thing.

(Please, all those still here: Don't. Leave. Or thou shalt feel the wrath of an angry Ex-Grand Judge, and you do not want that!) So... if I'd already left (well, sorta, and not on purpose...), and just didn't come back, would I be exempt from this wrath?
