As the subject line says, we are in trouble clearly with activity, and what not.
So anyone have any ideas before we become a legend of NationStates?
I do see regions trying to get us to merge in our weakened state. And to be honest, I am going to have to agree with Porcu in making a senate bill (the first one ever) in withholding elections until we have an active population. From this point forward regional recruitment is the priority.
Robengrad can work on RP, but to be honest he isn't as active as would be liked in keeping RP whoohooo.
I will assume the role of Ambassador of Hyrule in keeping us alive with other regions.

Have we ever considered merging? At this point our only priority should be to increase forum activity, not necessarily NS region activity. I think we're fine on NS. It's here on the forum where we've just died...
That being said, I'll say again what I've been saying for awhile...Drive hard for recruitment, first from within the region itself. Get people here on the forum! Then worry about increasing population in the NS region...Next, due to our condition emergency powers may need to be given and elections may need to be withheld until we can get the kind of participation needed to actually have a meaningful election...Essentially, the Senate resolution would just say that everyone keeps their current position until another resolution says its ok to have elections again...

You draft it, I'll sign it. xD. I think we have done all we can for interregional recruitment. It's a fact that some people have forumphobia.
Have we ever considered merging? No, not as we, but as in I. I have and with the current state of Hyrule and other regions it could be an unwise move at this time.
Now, I have a tendency of doing this, back to emergency power, I do have a little something to say...I have in the past opted to created a Emergency Council to run the government comprised of all government members working on the same thing and not just how we work now. [Where is the Nessie when you need her?] Or something like that.

my .02
I think i need to resign at MoI. I'll be the first to admit I just couldn't keep up with it. I tried and failed. Sorry guys, I really am on that part.
Now as to the whole region thing, I know I may be wrong with bringing this up now but I think we should take into account that NS2 is coming upon us here before the end of the year if what they said really is true. With that coming up it would mean that we would have to manage a second region. And expect a big hit in our population if we make a NS2 Hyrule region.
Now onto this Hyrule, I'm all for a recruitment drive, both inside and outside the region, While I can't perform at the expectations of the MoI written out in the constitution I can still recruit sometime.

Ahem- I started a thread, no one joined in; I told Archon off for Godmodding, he left. Basically you cant say I havent been doing my job SM, I dont like the fact I am the only minister mentioned as not 'doing enough' when no one else is doing anything either. If you mention one name, mention them all; otherwise it is unfair on the one person when no one else is doing anything.
As for emergency powers why do you need them? You have said in the past that you can over-rule any of us so I fail to see why this is being mentioned.
Ultimately this might seem like a bit of a whingy post but its just how I've felt about this place for a while.........Maybe I should just quit like I get the impression you want me to.

Come come...No need for any of this. Tough times impact us all and frankly can make everyone a little irritable. Rob, as a good friend please believe me when I say that I think that SM didn't mean anything by specifically mentioning you. Also, with all that we have been through during our days as RP kings do you really think I'll let you go without a fight? Haha! 'Course not...
Let's all try to be sensible and honest, as much as that may hurt...We may need to face the fact that Hyrule may never recover from this "depression." With NS2 coming out, couldn't we simply give the same url for the forum here and possibly gather new people just by doing that?
Believe me when I say that I am just as frustrated with this entire situation as you all are...Again, tough times have a funny way of testing character and I'm sure as hell not going to bicycle and moan (not meant against anyone, just a saying) but what I am going to do is think long and hard about is really best. Is it best to try and stick through? Is is maybe time to hang up the skates for good? (Hockey term meaning retirement)
That being said I will make it clear that from a RPing perspective this region has gone down the drain. Rob, if you're still up for some good RP please consider joining me in the European Continent. Lower Britain is open for newcomers so I think you'd fit right in!
Essentially, I want a calm and reasonable discussion as to what everyone thinks should be done. I want to hear not what everyone's head is thinking but rather what their gut is telling them. If you think we're lost, say it and be done. If you have some genius plan, share it and enlighten us. Beyond that, I've exhausted my thinking for a bit...
BTW, wouldn't it be wise to see what every Hyrulean thinks? Invite Krits and anyone else...Make this an open discussion...Hand out the password if you need to

Porcu is right, I think we're all just frustrated, and I never meant to just pick out you Rob. Nonetheless I would never just over throw everyone.
SD: Resignation not accepted, for the simple fact, the constitution has some gray areas and we do have other lives and can't do it 24/7. Daily, yeahish, as long as you do something--it is better than nothing.
Opening up this thread? Why lets do it, I'll move it to the...The Dodecahedron. Everyone can now. =].

Well... I'm not really against a merger per se (with whom?), though, I admit that I really started loving these forums (actually the only reason I'm still playing NS), even now a lot of members have left. (Please, all those still here: Don't. Leave. Or thou shalt feel the wrath of an angry Ex-Grand Judge, and you do not want that!) As for elections, I feel that to me, they all seem a bit pro-forma and superfluous... (The EM for dictator! All glory to the EM!)

Lol.
I should have figured that was going to show up again. xD. Nonetheless elections will have to be put on hold until we get more active people around again.
Also on that note, on the bottom of the forum it shows what amount of members come online && etc. It is inaccurate for the simple fact that we have a "Citizens" group not listed.

Hey...If you guys need a new MoI, you got one right here. I have always done my job with it, and the last time I was MoI we had a count of 360+ nations... As for people bickering amongst eachother, it will not solve anything, and with the current state of the region, everyone is to blame...even me who didnt even have a position and in a way abandoned you guys, but I can put it on me for not steping in to help till now. I dont think we have hit rock-bottom to where we need to merge. I say we give this recruitment drive a try, and see if we can fix things ourselves first. Whats the point in trying to make things better if we are going to merge and lose a bit of what we have made here. To Continue, I love this region, and when I went to other regions and introduced myself, I would get a "Sir Metz? From Hyrule!?" and I was proud to be acknowledged and remembered as a citizen here. For that reason I think we need to fix this region up, and bring it back to what it once was. By the way, I think that if someone wants to resign at a position, now is the time to let that happen. If we are going tmake a change we need to have someone who wants to do it and has the capabilities of making it happen. As long as SD can still help here and there...I dont see why not let him go, especially when I can step in As for the voting, why hold them off? If people want a position, then let them have it... Again, we need people who can make the commitment and stay with it. Yea, the vong is really useless, its more of a cou-de-tat (Or however you spell it lol) a forcefull take over, since there is hardly any opposition, but we need people who want to do a job, and if they take the time to put themselves up to run for a spot, by all means let them have the opportunity. Thank you for your time and attention to my rant

A rant every once and awhile is a useful thing...
I suppose if Starman really wants to resign and Metz is ready to take his place then so be it and let the recruitment drive begin, but we need to know if there is anyone opposed and for what reason. Although I really do think that elections would be a waste...

Coup d'etat: already did one of those this year (shhhhh). Elections: will go forward only if a majority shows an interest. Resignations: I really don't want any but you do provide the stronger argument; anyone who wants to resign is welcome to.
EDIT:
--On that statement I now accept MoI SD's resignation.
--If Metz wants to run the position, I can make up something since I doubt we will have elections: Interim or Emergency Minister of Immigration (did somebody say 9-1-1?)

But yes, if you need a MoI, I can do it. I would hate to see Hyrule turn into a tombstone of Nationstates....
