Major Winston O'Marley looked out over the southern reaches of the so-called 'Outlands' from the brand new Type 32 Nekomata hover tank he was in command of. Already, the Pacific States Coalition was well on its way to greatness once more, and what better way to prove it than by taking over new territories. But rather than conquer the deserted lands south of the nation, the country laid its eyes on Nakarak. It had been a plan ever since the birth of the PSC to take over the country. Now, with a definitive technological advantage, the time was ripe to remove this foreign influence from the continent, and perhaps remove them as a nation once and for all. And maybe assimilate any survivors into the new nation as prisoners until deemed fit. Before setting out, the commander radioed in for a final intelligence call, and according to the generals back in San Diego, Nakarak was not expecting an invasion. The plan to build up the massive army to invade the country had gone off perfectly. And now, nothing would be able to stop the PSC from its ultimate goal of domination, even as the green light was given to commence the attack. (Type 32 Nekomata near the border) As the first of the armored tanks went off into the country, confidence was brewing amongst the PSC soldiers. They were not about to let a few 'tribesmen' stop them from victory...

Secretary General Alexander Seleucus gazed out from the balcony overlooking the HTO capital and breathed a sigh of relief. He had just come back from a diplomatic mission to the Middle East where one of the HTO members felt it was best to leave the organization and Seleucus was relieved that he had made it clear enough that it wasn't in their best interest to leave.
The original organization had encompassed the ten most influential nations of the time. Nations such as Porcu, Nicomia, Robengrad, Greater Mactopia, and Southwest Prussia just to name a few. The premier military and economic power of its day the old HTO eventually fell and gave rise to regional alliances and powers which helped to fill the void left by the fall of the HTO. Under new times, however, some felt that the regional alliances were not strong enough to do what was best for future generations and so a movement was born to re-establish the HTO, something Seleucus was very proud to be part of.
The HTO now encompassed almost thirty additional nations, including the original ten, and its "boarders" stretched from the Iberian peninsula to the Indus River in India, from the jungles of the Congo to the shores of Denmark, and including other nations located in the Americas and Oceania, Quebec and French Polynesia being the most prominent member states. Yes, the HTO was truely a force to be reckoned with and Secretary General Seleucus was ready for some peace and quiet at last...

As the machines of war crossed Nakaran borders, the Nakaran forces were moving to mobilize. They had been caught off guard, but they were Nakarak, and such an advantage would not last for long.
The jungle traps were set: pits of firejelly, EMP mines imported from Canton Rouge, and the latest secret defense against infidel invaders: the crakylkr, an insect bred for the sole purpose of tearing apart metal. With corrosive bile, metal-eating bacteria, and razor-sharp mandibles, the untrainable creatures were simply set loose to cause what havoc they could. There were few, and they weren't perfected yet, but scientists in Nakarak proper were working day and night to make the crakylkr the scourge of the infidels.
In the meantime, it was up to the peoples of the Outlands. They filled small homes and other outlying buildings with firejelly, ready to blow it at a moment's notice, and brought their ground troops back to the temple. From the peak of the temple, they had a clear view of the enemy, and could light a signal fire to call for aid from Nakarak. The flame lept into being, large and eager, as if knowing of the carnage that would soon unfold.

Slowly, the Nekomatas, accompaning infantry, and mechanized forces made their way into another jungle. It had been quiet. Too quiet. There had been but a couple skirmishes, if that was what they could be called. And in both of them, the Pacific States had been able to rout the Nakarans. So far, it felt more like a mere push than a true war to most of them.
As the first of the Nekomatas entered, panic erupted as one of the tanks hoverpads set off a firejelly trap, and combined with the heat generated from the tanks, it became incinerated in a matter of seconds. Fearing for other traps, the army decided to insteadcut through a reported village, and possibly capture a few natives who would point out where the blasted traps were, and then disable them so as to allow passage of the army through.
Even approaching the town was time consuming, as the PSC had their first taste with the so-called crakylkrs, who tore up three Nekomatas, a Romanov, and two Bogatyrs before finally being driven off, thanks to the idea of actually focusing fire on the creature's head. Now, a sense of fear came over the soldiers as they entered the village, noticing that once again, it was totally deserted. Not even according to the tank commanders, was the temple occupied, the obvious high ground. 'Another easy victory,' they thought.
Once again, guerilla tactics erupted as buildings exploded as the army approached, raining firejelly and debris on the tanks, angering the army even more as they did not expect the Nakarans to be so crafty. But the true shocker was when the infantry that decided to move out to the temple, so as to avoid any hazards, noticed Nakaran infantry running after them.
"Radio in for air support!" yelled the troopers, and in tandem, the call was placed in for the effective Type 4 Doragons to level any resistance. Within a matter of 10 minutes, the gunships had entered the region, training their weapons on anyone foolish enough to get within their crosshairs...

Commander Kruul had not risen to such a prestigious rank, second only to Kanakar, for his stupidity. When he saw the aircraft coming in, he knew that they would not hold out for long. He shouted, "Domians Drukor and Kragath, hold them! Make them buy this land with their blood! Domains Drigak and Kor fall back to the temple. Let not these infidels defile this sacred ground!"
As the rear half of his forces broke off and returned to the temple, the front half was in part of a massacre. Warriors died, burned away by infernal contraptions. The enemy died as well, cut down and torn apart by fierce warriors in a battle frenzy. The Tanaka released more craklykr, their winged buzz going unheard in the din of battle. They mostly ignored the Nakaran swords in favor of the massive tanks and aircraft, greedily devouring anthing they could. The Tanaka carefully observed the stragtegies the infidels used to counter them, recording the information for rapid transfer to Nakarak.
The forces that had fallen back to the temple began to prepare its defenses. The temple itself was difficult to penetrate from the outside, its latticework of crisscrossing support beams mimicking the ultrastrong coral native to Nakarak. As for the temple interior, the priests were arming a score of deadly traps to deter the invaders: everything from firejelly beneath concealed floor panels, effectively anti-personnel mines, to clouds of deadly gas filling auxilary hallways, to concealed pits of acid, and a thousand other cunning ploys, the best of which was the main chamber, which filled with a swarm of dealy poisonous insects when one tried to open the door to the catacombs. T
his door, locked and reinforced enough to withstand earthquakes and most explosives, led to their escape route. A half dozen paths led to the surface, some going as far as a half a mile away before surfacing. More than a hundred others were nothing but dead ends, double back on themselves, or simply went in circles. The safe paths were marked with a special paint, which glowed when exposed to the light of Nakaran fireflies. Now six priests led half of the remaining forces down the tunnels, while the rest made their stand at the door, hoping to delay them long enough for the rest of the warriors, as well as the noncombatants, to escape. It was a grim task, with little hope of success and no hope of survival. It was a job for a Nakaran.

Major O'Marley laughed as he saw the Nakaran forces return to the temple. Granted, the half that stood their ground unleashed a massive nexus of destruction upon the front line forces, nevertheless, they had taken no survivors and now, could decide whether to persue their enemy into the temple, or just stay back and possibly raze the building to the ground, reducing morale to anyone watching.
The Major pondered this situation, then called upon a regiment of infantry to attempt to coax the enemy out of the temple. If they could not remove them peacefully, then they were to storm the building. And in the unlikely scenario that this method failed, then the building would just be bombarded until either the Nakarans got the point, or until the building was leveled. So, he ordered the nefarious 218th Light Regiment, a.k.a. the Devil Raiders, to the scene.
Navigating the path into the temple was not relatively difficult, but upon entering the temple, the pandemonioum started as soldier after soldier started setting off the numerous traps the denizens set up. The mines caused severe damage and sometimes killed a person, the gas made the soldiers put on their gas masks, and the infamous flying dart trapped ended up incapacitating a few troops. Yet, the PSC were still pushing on, knowing that soon, they would find those that took refuge inside.
After many minutes of 'trap-disarming' and navigating the temple, the troops came upon what would be the main chamber. Inside the chamber, the troops saw a massive door, and when they got closer, they could hear light chatter. This must be the forces, they thought. After radioing in their success to the one soldier who stayed behind at the temple entrance, the leader of the pack turned to the door, and yelled, "Attention hostile combatants! You are surrounded by forces of the Pacific States Coalition! This is your one and only chance to surrender before we destroy the door, and massacre anyone inside. Also, if you refuse to give up, your temple will be demolished. Therefore, it is in your best interest to give yourselves up!"

"John, do you see what I'm seeing?" shouted Alexi from another monitor clear across the room.
"I sure do...What the hell is going on?"
"No idea. Think we should call the captain?"
"I'm on it. Focus on it as much as you can..." John responded as he took off his headset and ran off to grab his superior.
One thing the HTO had at its disposal were spy satellites and even missile platforms on satellites and this gave the HTO a huge advantage in its attempt to monitor and somewhat influence the actions of other nations. Project Amun-Ra, as it was referred to, ruled the skies over Earth, capable to focusing its lenses and producing a crystal clear picture of a HTO pound laying on the corner of a street. Monitored from Earth, Project Amun-Ra constantly provided the HTO with intelligence that could prove useful in times of uneasy peace and war and the large movements between the Pacific States Coalition and Nakarak due some attention from Project Amun-Ra. ================================== Official Statement From The Hyrulian Treaty Organization
The HTO has taken notice of the aggressive actions of the Pacific States Coalition towards its neighbors to the South with disdain and urges an immediate ceasefire and end to hostilities. While the HTO is committed to building long and lasting relations between itself and other nations it does hold the power to quickly terminate those relations for the betterment of Hyrule.
Again, the HTO urges an end to the conflict and would be happy to serve as a mediator but failure to bring about a swift end will result in an economic embargo.

Official Response from the Pacific States Coalition
We laugh at what this organization tries to accomplish here in this situation. This conflict is between us and Nakarak only, and we advise that it remain that way. Furthermore, your embargo will prove ineffective as there are other nations who will trade with us. Once again, hostilities will cease only when our nation rightfully holds these lands that these tribesmen are inferior of handling.
===============================
Espionage Command Center Le Harve
"What's the situation, Johann?" asked Robert
"The Pacific States are rapidly advancing. There's no telling if, or when they'll stop, Robert. And according to the operatives within the nation, they are rounding up anyone in conquered Nakarak who's going against the military, and they're executing them. Plus, they're leaving mass graves. I don't like this one bit."
"Well, wire up the recent report to the HTO. More than likely, they'll be calling for a resolution against this. And I'm willing to bet like the last time the world united against the PSC, we'll be the spearhead of the assault."
"Roger that, Robert."
*******************
To the HTO,
According to our CRISF operatives in the Pacific States Coalition, the situation in Nakarak is horrible. The Pacific States are rampaging the lands, and executing Nakarans who are protesting the staying of PSC forces in the region. Therefore, I suggest that sanctions be placed upon the PSC. Though it probably may not be effective, it will buy some time as we work out an appropriate method to stopping this growing threat.

The Nakaran troops heard the infidels on the other side of the main door, and prepared themselves for their grand sacrifice. They then shouted back, "Come and fight us, infidel scum! We will gladly give our lives to the Gods. Choose now to whom your deaths will belong." They were confident that the door would withstand the first blast, and once that triggered the deadly insect swarms, they would have other things to worry about.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Takana managed to relay their data on the crykylkr's weaknesses to Nakarak, where changes were swiftly put into effect, reinforcing their head plates to defend against small arms fire. Nakar Kor, meanwhile, raged at the news of the invasion. He prepared a message for the PSC and another for the other nations of the world. This infidel filth would pay for daring to attack Nakarak.
Pacific States Coalition,
Your attack on the Outlands is unwarranted and unjust. If you cease your hostilities now, we will settle for the restoration of our own lands, as well as half of those belonging to you. If you continue this outrage, we will wipe you from the face of the earth. Your dead shall lie unburied for the crows to gorge themselves upon. Your women and children will be used to feed our dogs. Your cities shall be burned, and the ground salted and defiled. The world will never know you existed. Do not take these words lightly. None who have attempted to invade Nakarak have survived to make a second attempt.
Nakar Kor Chosen of Dar Leader of the Kingdom of Nakarak
To the Nations of Hyrule,
The Pacific States Coalition has made unjust war upon our people. They have brought death and suffering to the millions of people who call the Outlands their home. Let not this atrocity go unpunished. For every child slain, we shall slaughter a village. For every warrior left to the crows because of their blasphemy, we shall burn a city to the ground. By choosing to begin a war, they have forced us to choose to end it. Fight with us if that is your choice. We shall turn aside no warrior who fights beside us with honor. If you decide this is not your war, then stand aside, and hinder not the hand of justice which comes to strike down these murderers and warmongers. Whatever your choice, choose quickly, for with each passing moment the gates to the Otherworld are flooded with the souls of the dead.
For the PSC soldiers on the other end, they laughed, then prepared the door for detonation with a latest PSC invention, an explosive compound known as RDX, which was a successor to the ever popular C4. After rigging the doorway with numerous RDX packs, so as to ensure destruction, the soldiers moved back far away, and with a push of a button, two things happened. First, a massive explosion tore down a wide enough opening to allow a couple of soldiers through. Then, the insects that were triggered came swarming down on the infantry, buzzing and stinging them periously, causing many to fall, but not those who had backed off far enough. Now, with the buzzing dying down, those who had survived were charging off, looking to bag a few kills, not even as the first of the Bogatyr rockets began pelting the temple....
Pacific States Coalition Response to Nakarak and Nakar Kor
We challenge you to try and force us off of your Outlands. You will never be able to reach even the borders of our lands, for we will have tracked, and destroyed any army that could come our way. We have the will, the technology, and the manpower to crush what little resistance you can stomach, while all you can do at best is set up paltry traps for our men. Surrender the Outlands now, or risk an invasion of Nakarak proper in due time. You have been warned.
Paris
President Jacques Voorjent had just received the urgent message received from Nakar Kor, and a smile came to his face. He was amazed that Nakar Kor had lived long past other rulers, and he knew that was no joke, thanks to the lifestyles of Nakarak. But now, he knew that the time had come to help Nakarak like they did almost 70 years ago. In fact, the president once read that the former leader Timothy Matthews once pledged before his untimely death in 2008 that as long as both Nakarak and Canton Rouge remained free, there would come a day that Canton Rouge would repay their debt to Nakarak for helping them out during the Shop crisis. And he knew that day had come.
President Voorjent knew of someone Nakar Kor would appreciate meeting with during this time of war; all Voorjent had to do was grab him....
Medical Systems Center for Cryogenesis, Paris
Though very few people knew it, Timothy Matthews was not actually buried; that was a wax dummy so as to please the religious people. He had actually asked to be frozen so as one day, he could lend his insight to the public. And coincidentally, during the time they had frozen Matthews, they had also thanks to medicinial procedures in the 2050's, removed the condition that had done him in. All that needed to be done now was to see if he would awaken from cryogenesis.
President Voorjent followed the team of doctors and researchers into the room where the tube containing Matthews was, and watched with awe as the doctors warmed up the capsule, and administered the drug that was to revive anyone in the frozen state. As eyes watched, within minutes, movement came from the tube, prompting success. More minutes passed as Matthews regained movement of his limbs, and the tube opened up. Finally, Matthews stepped outside, and muttered, "Have you found a cure yet for whatever I had?"
One of the doctors then had to explain to Matthews exactly what went through the 70 odd years of his cryosleep, which he followed intently. After the doctor finished, Matthews asked, "So, what brings me out of this. Has everything gone downhill?"
President Voorjent replied, "No, Grand Moff. Rather, Nakarak is in a state of war, thanks to the Pacific States Coalition, who unjustly invaded the nation. Nakarak is in such a state of chaos that they need any international help. Now, the 1st and 8th Canton Rouge Armies, along with two Titans, are in the state of heading over there. Meanwhile, I need you to proceed to the capital, and meet with Nakar Kor. Any questions?"
Matthews replied no, and Voorjent sent Matthews off to the awaiting jet that would serve as his transport to Nakarak. Meanwhile, President Voorjent quickly scribed a letter to Nakar Kor, then sent it off...
To the esteemed Nakar Kor,
Canton Rouge will be sending two of our armies to meet the Pacific States Coalition in battle. Along with those armies, two of our aerial dropships known as Titans are inbound to assist war efforts. I trust that your soldiers will respect our men, as our men will respect yours. Finally, I am sending someone special to Nakarak to meet with you regarding the enemy. Please meet him well, as I know he is a friend of yours.
President Jacques Voorjent United Provinces of Canton Rouge
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Near Nakarak
Timothy Matthews had spent the last three hours trying to get his body and mind accustomed to life once again, because he did not want to look like a haphazard figure in front of Nakar Kor. After all, the last time the two had met was 70 years ago at the funeral of Saiedion Lucian. Now, the time had come for the two to meet once again, but now, Nakar Kor would be older, wiser, and more experienced, and as for himself, the only thing that had changed with him was now, his skin almost resembled snow, thanks to the cryogenesis. He surely hoped Nakar Kor would not think of him as a foreigner as the plane landed at the airport, and came to a stop.
Not taking the time to gather what little belongings he had, Matthews made his way through the capital, amongst the throngs of people inside the city. He felt amazed that no one truly knew who he was, but then again, he figured more people would be focused on the war, hoping any relatives they had over there would be safe.
Once Matthews finally got to where Nakar Kor made his residence, he waited. He knew that Nakar Kor probably had not received the message sent from Paris five hours ago, and he did not want to try his luck with the guards outside...

The rockets came heavily upon the temple, but it survived the first salvo relatively intact. A few more, though, and it would be less certain. Meanwhile, the soldiers in the catacombs began to bombard the cowardly infidel infantry with firejelly, while the rest moved to the sides, out of a direct line of fire from the door. The others had had enough time to escape. Now was the time for glory.
As the insect swarms dissipated, Nakaran warriors swarmed out of the doorway. Many were cut down, but many in turn cut down their foes, and for each slain Nakaran, two or three PSC troops lay beside him in death. The fighting was short, but extremely brutal. By the time the last Nakaran warrior was slain, there were few enemies left to celebrate their victory.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nakar Kor composed a swift reply to the PSC's retort.
Pacific States Coalition,
You may have the will, the technology, and the manpower to overrun an army of infidels like your own, but I challenge you to try and invade Nakarak. In more than a thousand years of history, since the first Nakar united Nakarak under one ruler, no infidel has ever conquered Nakarak. Those who have tried have all perished in the attempt. For more than a hundred years have I ruled Nakarak, and still I have the strength to join my troops in battle. I have weathered the storms of this world as an ancient myluk tree, which even lightning cannot fell, but rather when struck, bears seeds of its own kind to grow and prosper. Strike, then, and watch us grow until you know that we are mightier than you.
Nakar Kor Chosen of Dar Leader of the Kingdom of Nakarak
As Nakar Kor finished his heated reply, his guards informed him of the arrival of Timothy Matthews. Overjoyed, and slightly shocked, he personally went out to great the former leader of Canton Rouge.
"My friend," he said. "It seems reports of your death were a little premature. It's good to have you here."
"It was true to an extent, my friend," Timothy agreed, "but while I was incapacitated, I was merely sent into a state of cryogenesis. It's a long story that I shall save for another day. But likewise, I'm sort of glad to be here in Nakarak for once. Let me just say, you still keep the place all natural, even in a time when technology runs rampant."
He laughed at the retort, then continued, "You have to forgive me. It's been a rough eight hours for me. I've already been awoken, had to be briefed on a 70 year span in one hour, then take a flight over here, and finally navigate the roads over here. Thank the gods though that I made it."
"So it's come to my attention that this rogue state called the Pacific States Coalition decided to invade the Outlands. Well, from what little I know of this nation, they're aggressive, brutal, and probably won't stop until they take the Outlands, and even then, they may go after you. I for one, won't let these people take what you rightfully got all those years ago."
"President Voorjent has already sent two of our army groups and two Titans over. Rest assured, unlike the last time you saw my army, now, they are one of the most respected and feared soldiers ever. But even that might not stop the Pacific States, because they can always just bombard our soldiers once more with their new weapons of war, and it'll take a few days for our heavy weapons to arrive."
"I truly hope the Pacific States is stopped. Otherwise, if we fail at preventing them from seizing the Outlands, then it may only be a matter of time before even the capital suffers raids and missile attacks from their silos. I know you'll probably be leading some men off to war, and I will be staying here in the capital to provide morale for my men and yours. So tell me, what's the situation, so I can see where to send forces."
After his talk with the High Seniority, Sangdor Maff was told about the attack on Nakarak by the PSC. All the details were given to him and then he was told that Canton Rouge had become involved in the conflict. He put in an emergency video conference call with President "Tiger" Voorjent with the hopes of sending some army units to Nakarak with the Canton Rouge forces in order to assist Nakarak in repelling the invaders. Although many SRCs were in combat with the Brigands, most were still waiting to see some form of action.
While waiting for the call, he thought about his chat with Allia Domac and how she had wanted him to take over while she was recovering. He had decided to hand that power over to the truly deserving Detris Amair. The executor of the SRC UoS BoR was a very humble SRC and was very capable of being the most human SRC besides the High Seniority herself. He picked up his phone, called Amair, and told her he had promoted her to temporary leader of the UoS. She seemed calm about the promotion and asked if there was anything he needed since she was now the leader.
"Yes," he said. "I need your permission to deploy 3 brigades of SRCs into the Outlands of Nakarak in order to prevent the invasion." She immediately agreed, but Sangdor had to end the call because he recieved news that the video conference was ready and Voorjent was on the other end. He switched it on and greeted the CR president. "Hello, Mr. President. I have a proposition for you..."
To Nakarak
If you seriously expect us not to invade and win, you are mistaken, for you are nothing more than tribesmen armed with crude explosives and spears, while we have airships, helicopters, aircraft, tanks, battle walkers, and firearms. Mark our words, Nakar Kor. You had best enjoy what little rule you have left, because if you continue to defy us, you will meet fate at the hands of our soldiers. That is, if you live long enough from the bombardments of death once we choose to invade.
President Voorjent had just returned to his office when his video conference monitor came alive. On the other end, was Sangdor Maff, to his surprise. After setting up, he responded, "Yes Sangdor. What do you have in mind?"
Sangdor smiled as he explained. "I was hoping you would allow us to assist you in your assault against the PSC invaders in Nakarak. I have 3 brigades ready to attack. All I need is for you to give me the permission to assist you. If you want to ask Nakarak first, than go ahead, but I will answer only to your permission. am also ordering the Kinetic Strike satalites, or the 'Rods from God' over the PSC country in case they need any 'deterrent'..."
Detris was still in a state of shock after her promotion. Granted, it was temporary, but it was still a great honour. She knew she had done a good thing by allowing for the deployment of the SRCs into Nakarak. Now if only the Nakarakans would allow for the deployment, the PSC would be gone in hours...
