Dear friends of the Hyrulean Nations, I would like to suggest another Ministry... the Territory Ministry... and the person with this cargo would be the one changing the Hyrule map. Why do I suggest this... well it seems that the actual model of sending an telegram to Southwest Prussia is not working properly because this member as far as I know... is not online for about 11 days... and it seems to be quite busy.
Hope to hear from you.
Regards, The president of the United States of Atlantico Norte

I think this is a good idea, seeing as SW Prussia hasn't been on for a while. Though I suggest having two cartographers: one a main one, one to help out the other one when he isn't avaliable or such.

You could have an Territory Minister and a Territory Vice-minister.
I candidate myself to the job! ;p

Regional cartography is a big job, and if RL (real life) circumstances start to make it difficult to get on-line for more than a couple of days at a time, things can pile up exponentially. It seems to me that this is an awkward situation no matter how it is approached. I agree with Ness that having two regional cartographers, one main one, and one to help out when the other is unavailable is a good approach. Whether this is to be done through another election process, or through the appointment of an assistant or Under Minister or whatever you want to call it, is something that would have to be decided.

Sounds like a good idea and how about it not just cover the map, but the art area also. If a new ministry is formed i suggest it be called: Ministry of Cartography and Culture

I guess that Art and Cartography are not quite the same and should be kept under two Ministries or a ministry and an assistant/under minister. I guess that Territory Ministry would be a nice name for the ministry that deals with the cartography stuff... And there should be an assistant/under minister doing everything related to the site artwork.

I like SM's suggestion, actually. Art and cartography are very much the same, you see. For to maintain and update a map is an art. But, based on your suggestion, Atlantico Norte, I would suggest the creation of the Ministry of Civilisation, which covers a broad basis of growth and development, inclusive of culture; the arts. Upon its creation, it would consist of a triangular structure -- a minister, and two deputy ministers.
One of the deputy ministers would be the equivalent of a cartographer. The other would maintain the art area. Each could have an assistant, but that would not be necessary, as the actual minister would have the duty of stepping in, and doing the job of one or both of the deputies. These are my recommendations, as Chancellor of the Cabinet.

I think that SM's suggestion is best. I also think that, if a Cartographer is away for a long period of time, then a new one should be elected or chosen. Perhaps a vice-cartographer?

I also like SM's idea, and Gnid's breakdown. Under Gnid's plan, if a cartographer (one of the deputy ministers) is away, it becomes the responsibility of the minister to step in. This should take care of Flamaca's concern regarding a cartographer being absent for an extended period.

I'm willing to help out. I'm always near a computer and would be glad to help in any way I can. I like all these ideas. The minsiter of Art and Catography sounds really good to me and I like how there should be a back up person in case there is a problem for that person to get to a computer. I think, though that some of these issues should be brought up to Southwest Prussia. I don't think that we should just pull the job from under him.

We could still have Prussia as a cartographer, however he would now have two people that could now help him out.

Well, like I've said, I'm willing to help out but I'm not very artsy when it comes to computers.

The only question I have is, that if we decided to have a Vice-Cartographer would we have to have a regional vote? Or can the people who want to help be "drafted"?

Well... I guess that at least... for now we have 2 persons available to be Vice-Cartographer. eternalmoonchild and me! Maybe you could have an regional vote asking to all the nations in our region if they agree with us as vice-cartographers.
