By this time Emperor Tojo was having a bit of a panic attack, he was rushing everything for the two new nations that were joining, rooms were being prepared and tables set, people were about to leave and now he was only about to finish all the preparation.

"Today Secretary of State Colin Powell has left the U.S. for Stargate Sg-1's trade conference. Quite what is expected from this conference is unknown, but the U.S. has sent him over anyway.
"Following President Bush's outright refusal to join the CPA it is un-clear what his foreign policy will be. This conference is now seen by many comentators as a sign of what is to come from U.S. regional relations."

****News update****
CRIN has just reported that President Matthews has just left Bernstadt International, and is now en route to Tokyo to attend Stargate Sg-1's trade conference. Just before boarding the private jet aircraft, he had this to say:
"We hope that Canton Rouge gets something out of this trade conference. Whether it's trade agreements, tariff abolishing, or even just simple import/export to other nations, we feel confident in what will occur in Tokyo."

After Dilbert Grommer had left for the Conference, Marcus Theafer realized that this could take some of the attention off of the investigation of the Lamation attacks. Grommer left with the idea of trading lumber, water, uranium and delithym to the other nations for other resources. The Trade Secretary's leaving was kept under wraps until the threat was dealt with. Theafer did not want an attack upon the Conference to be caused by his ignorance...

"We have received word that Raul Martinez has arrived safely."
"Great...he knows his objectives and all that I assume?"
"Yes, he told me himself all of them....that we wanted free and open trade with al nations, and are loking for long term trading partners. He also mentioned tariff rates and things like that if I remember correctly."
"Yes. You did remember, but more importantly, Raul has. We need to get some trade options soon. Our nations economy is an egg waiting to hatch. If we ont get some trade soon, we may crumble and have to figure things our ourselves. I dont see that being the best optin available either..."

Consul Tiberius Maxentius and Tribune Cornelius Scipio had boarded their private jet hours after Emperor Tojo of StargateSG-1 had left Rome for the Trade Conference. It would be the true first diplomatic trip on behalf of the SPQR.
The Senators' historical trip was being closely followed not only by the PBC, but other major news stations around Hyrule. After all, the new leaders of Porcu would help decide policies that would in turn affect billions of other people around Hyrule.
The two Senators and respective faction leaders landed in Tokyo quite a few hours later and as they began to make their way off the jet Tiberius, who wasn't ever comfortable enough to sleep, hoped that he wouldn't embarrass himself by falling asleep...

"The Grand Ayatollah has left Nicassar for Tokyo and the trade conference. It will be the first time that the Ayatollah has left Nicassar in many years, having only recently decided to bring the oil producing country back into the fold."
Some hours later the Ayatollah arrived in Tokyo, and headed straight for where the conference was to be held.

As the motorcade of arriving delegates arrived Emperor Tojo came out to meet his guests. Welcoming them to the palace. He said, "Welcome all of you to my capital city, since not all of our guests have arrived I will have some of my servants walk you to your rooms so you can rest, I will call you all down for the opening meeting when we are all here."

When Grommer's plane touched down, he was immediately taken to his room and asked for some wine. Being of Italian decent, he could tell what win was goo and what wasnot. He sipped the wine that the servantha given him and swished it in his mouth. It was excellent. He couldn't wait for the conference to begin and turned the TV on to see what shows were on in Stargate...

Post by Atlantico Norte on Aug 25, 2007 17:30:08 GMT -5
Sir Nicholas Griffin went to the airport with his lovelly secretary Miss Sheyla Armati, they were going to take the Royal Jet to Tokyo in Stargate-SG1.
"Miss Sheyla, do you have any idea of the importance of this trade conference to Atlantico Norte?" asked Sir Nicholas
"Actually I do" answered Ms. Sheyla while boarding the Royal Jet
"It's vital for out technology exports to grow even more. I know that ANTV is the major player on the TV platforms, HYMobile is the number 1 on cellphones in Hyrule and that Wiztel have a major share on almost every nations regarding Business Solutions..." said Ms. Sheyla while fastening her seat belt.
"Yes, in fact Atlantico Norte is the De Facto services suplyer for most of the nations in Hyrule, but our hardware exports are not the same as it used to be, and our fruit, cereals, milk, meat, fish and eggs exports are very limited. I know that with the recent expansion of our territory we have internal markets that can be suplied... but we also need to export. And beside this our currency is really strong against most of the other currencies of our region" said Sir Nicholas just a few seconds before the airplane take off.
"I know that your idea is to promote the free trade between all the nations in Hyrule... but will the other nations agree with that? It's really easy for the services... but for the other goods it might not be very easy because there are some nations that might consider that a threat to the balance of their imports/exports. Maybe the smaller nations might welcome that idea... but what about the bigger nations like Porcu or Robengrad? Will they accept that Free Trade Agreement?" Said Ms. Sheila
"Don't know... I guess that exporting goods to a big market like Robengrad or Porcu would be great to our nation, and I guess that it might be easy with Porcu because they are part of HyLive and we have supplied them some technology on the past that they still using (Don't know if the same happens with Robengrad). For instance, the logo of their station was made by one of our designers as an agreement between ANTV and PBC where both stations traded technology, so I presume that Porcu might not be easy but maybe we can do it... I can't say the same about Robengrad." said Sir Nicholas before getting comfy on his chair "Do you mind if I sleep for a while" he asked
"No problem I will wake you up when we get to ToKyo. We will go straight to our Hotel after the arrival" said Ms. Sheyla.

Emperor Tojo was preparing for his conference by getting his objectives in order. Talking to his advisers he said, "Our objective should be to push free trade throughout Hyrule so we can sell more of our motor vehicles, ships, electronics, and steel. As well we need markets that are willing to sell their products on our markets. Now all we need are some of the other nations to arrive and we can start this conference."

OOC: Assume everyone is here.
IC: Emperor Tojo called everyone into the conference hall for the opening comments for the conference. "Everyone I invited you here for one reason, that is to bring free trade throughout the region of Hyrule. I know that we all have something to give and we all need something in return for the stability of their economies. We all need to come together and trade in a fair environment. To do this I propose a treaty that will be singed by all of us to ensure our trade with one another with no barriers to it. As well as a board comprised of equal representation from each nation that will hear complaints by other nations and decide how to take actions in that situation. The center for this board would be in Hyrule City so there is no influence on regional politics and protests to it.
"This does not have to take place, and I encourage side bar talks for trade between nations. I would like first however, to hear all of your reactions to this idea that I proposed and any questions to it." Emperor Tojo sat down to see who would come up first.
