UKFA Press Releases - Round 27
A report from the Costanzia Sports Network
And the Peasants Rejoiced!!
Costanzia Sports Network
Costanzia's beloved Jon Voights shocked P&D United in their home stadium with a 3-1 victory, enough to make up the goal differential and advance on superior away goals. And whilst Sacamano was held scoreless, he did assist on one of Newman's two goals in the game. The game seemed sealed until late in the second half P&D scored once. Had J. Peterman not been the man on the spot for the final goal as regulation time ended JV could have been sent packing from the tournament.
Sacamano, as captain, was asked to comment on the game. "It was just amazing. We knew what we had to do to win. Some say we were lucky with that last goal, and there is always a certain amount of luck involved in making some of these types of runs, but we wouldn't be here to begin with without the skill and talent on the team. It is a dream come true."
"I am so proud of these guys I could headbutt each and every one of them." Added Zidane at the podium. "I said it earlier, this game was a litmus test for how good we are and can be. We were challenged by the best team in UKFA today, and we answered that challenge. I think its about time to consider the Jon Voights as one of the top clubs in the league."
Zidane seemed confident, yet cautious for the Final match against Postboxes FC, a team they blanked 2-0 coming off the break. Postboxes came off a stunning upset over Racing Club, also advancing on superior away goals. P&D and Racing Club were 1 and 2 respectively in the UKFA Top 10, and JV and Postboxes are 5 and 6. Zidane stressed that the most recent meeting between these two clubs is meaningless, especially in this tournament where almost anything can happen (as JV had shown by besting Racing Club on more than one occasion). The Final is expected to be a brutal match between to talented teams. While most teams wouldn't consider 6th in the Top 10 too shabby, Postboxes FC and their legions of fans consider it sub par at best. The match will be exciting and all of JV Nation is looking forward to it, however they are still drunkenly consuming their GMPV celebrating arguably the best season in the Jon Voights relatively short history.
A guest report from Peace-and-Democracy's FA
Upset in the cup
Both P&D United and B12 have been eliminated from the Cup of Regions - the top two teams in the Top 10. Both teams went out as a result of the away goal rule and further highlighting the problem the P&DU seem to have hit.
In his second statement of the day, Nick Park said this, "Obviously, for us, 2 losses is unacceptable for us and we need to work hard with the players to rectify any outstanding problems. We are also in a position to shed more light on Wednesday evening's press conference.
"On Wednesday, Will Scott [Manager] and I will be announcing some changes to both the club and the stadium. We will also be announcing a new sponsorship deal for the next three years and a L5 million youth scheme and more details about all of these will be available on Wednesday evening."
The press conference is due to start at 2100 UCT and UDNews will bring updates & a full round up to the global platform as soon as possible.

A report from DMCD's FA
Leninov's The Man
Josef Leninov has been named DMCD player of the season for his impressive performances on and off the pitch. His performances at the heart of a DMCD team who swept all before them has impressed the majority of DMCD Supporters. Stephen Stirk came second and Jordan Sleuber third.
With only 3 losses, five wins and twenty two goals so far, DMCD have produced a fantastic first season and Leninov has been at his brilliant best.
Since his move from the lower division at the beginning of the season he has been a truely precious asset. His passing, pace and awareness have made him into a DMCD fans favourite and have helped the team climb the league.
Leninov was awarded with a Golden Crest before Saturdays game at home to Atlantic Red Wolves. He thanked the fans for this by scoring in the 57th minute and helping DMCD to go top of the league with only three games to go.
Leninov commented after the game, "This is a huge club and i was thrilled to move here, some people where a little apprehensive about me moving here from the lower leagues but i hope I've proved them very wrong. I knew i would have to work hard here and I have."
UKFA Press Releases - Round 28
A report from Betelgeuse XII's FA
Racing Club manager thinks P&D are running scared
Racing Club de Betelgeuse XII manager CAT5 has added fuel to the fire ahead of his side's potentially Championship deciding game against Peace-and-Democracy United by accusing their manager of 'doing a Keegan'.
P&D manager Will Scott has not made a public statement since P&D's surprise 4-1 defeat at the hands of the badgers of Joolsdom Forest, preferring to let his assistant manager handle the pressures of the media spotlight.
CAT5 had this to say on the matter : "It seems to be mysterious, the Will Scott is not appear. We get analogy with Kevin Keegen. That dude lost signal then Newcastle lost Premiership title. We lose Scott signal, now P&D lose Premier League lead, it seems correct?
"We get announcement from Nick Park that make changes to P&D club and stadium. It seems they get panic and overreaction.
"We set them up the surprise tactics in match the weekend. Our boys will move the ball for great Total Football. Best team win!"
Scott is not just conspicuous in his absence, however : rumours in the Peace-and-Democracy press that the referee in the match against Forest was seen sporting a "Support the Badgers" badge have not been substantiated.
There has been no mention of this supposed incident for a week now, and the P&D press seem to have quietly dropped the matter. This in turn has fuelled rumours that the story was leaked to the press by Scott in an attempt to disguise his side's faltering form at this crucial stage of the season (the 4-0 victory yesterday against Shawdom excluded, of course - Shawdom's form has been even more erratic than P&D's after they lost 5-1 to Joolsdom two weeks ago).
On the subject of their unexpected Cup of Regions exit at the hands of Postboxes FC, CAT5 said "They know what they doing. We get set up the offside trap, and shut down our wings. Ganbatte in the final."

"Not to site see, not to shag the local female populous, we are here to play world class football, and that has not been happening as of late, so practice will be longer. we must practive harder, might even change to a 2-5-5 for more defence, only time will tell."
