(ooc: sorry! July 17 was Independence Day! I COMPLETELY FORGOT! and it's also my 15/presidents 25 b-day! That's why I haven't done anything about yet, took a break yesterday)
IC:
Yesterday was an amazing day! The nation celebrated 509 years of independence, but they also celebrated President Chris Colacito's 25th birthday! Blue, Orange, and White were the only 3 colors you could see this week, even in the Rolanda Plains and the Zooblee Desert. Concerts were held in Penguintopolis, Ocean City, PennState, Wildwood, and Bostonia to celebrate, and raise awareness of climate change and global warming. Typhoon Nancy was perdicted to hit Penguintopolis on the 17th, ruining the celebrations, but it somehow broke up and was literally gone until today were it passed over. Chris Colacito's hometown of Wilkes-Barre is usually relatively quiet, but not this week. The town of 54,000 people contained over 1,000,000 people on the 16th, 1.5 million on the 17th, and 900,000 today. No one slept in that city for sure! Many, many other events were held all across the country, but we don't have room in one segment to list them all!
In other news...
Typhoon Nancy has moved off-shore. All in all, it was pretty weak. When it first came to shore at Greensboro, its winds were around 110 mph and gusts around 120. As it moved northeast, it weakened. By the time it passed over Penguintopolis, its winds were around 50 mph with 60 mph gusts. When it left, winds weren't even reaching 30 mph. It released 48 inches of rain, 40 over Greensboro/vicinity. 0.1 fell on Penguintopolis on Tuesday, and the 7.9 fell elsewere. All in all, 27 people died and 51 injured. It caused 600,000 Y in damage. 20 people were killed when the Greensboro River took out a road right as a Marty Bus was stopped on it. 29 people were injured and 5 were killed when the Greensboro Levee 9A collasped and sent water rushing through Greensboro Fair Grounds. A ferris wheel and a roller coaster collasped, causing all but one death and injury. The other two involved were in the Whiplash Rodeo ride (ooc: you are in a car and you go around an oval track, and every time you hit the turn you are whipped around). The water was so strong that it disconnected a car, flinging it into the crowd.

-VENICE-
The historic Campo de Santa Maria was vandilised last night. This 400 year old square was the home to the Fountain de Santa Maria, a magnifecent fountain, and a statue of Santa Gabriella. Both were covered with grafitti saying, "14 Campo de Marco Street". Police went to that house only to found an old lady knitting on the couch. --Penguintopolis--
Xavor-Cactus rebel forces in the Deserte Province have invaded the capital, entering houses and schools and businesses, and stormed the Purple House, demanding government funding for nuclear weapons research in the Province. The government won't give in beacause in 1997, XC forces had stolen powerful weapons and threatened to use them in Penguintopolis. Also, the nation does not have any nuclear reasearch facilities or anything having to do with nuclear objects! Over 2,300 rebels invaded at around 7:50 PM today. No word on any violence.

BREAKING NEWSHello, I'm Hershey Margerita with breaking news out of Penguintopolis. New developments in 3 major accidents. The cause of the subway crash that killed 120 people and injured 220 back on July 24 has been found. Two sections of rail in the station were not connected. As the subway traveled over the disconnected pieces, 2 wheels had loosened. When it started to speed up, the wheels fell off and the entire subway train derailed as it slid into a second train. They both then caught fire. The second accident was on July 14, 2006 when a Amptrak train carrying 690 people fell 455 feet into the Penguino River in Motika City, outside of Penguintoplis. As it fell it hit 31 cars on Interstae 105 below (I-105 was 400 feet above the water, and the train tracks were 30 feet above that). 19 cars fell with it as the entire bridge collasped. Miraculosly, only 4 people were killed, but 762 were injured. The cause was that a barge hit the bridge only 8 minutes before the accident. The force of the collision caused the bridge supports to lean and the train tracks to disconnect. The third was on May 2, 1992 when a crane in Avalon collasped onto busy streets, killing 1 and injuring 55. The crane tipped over and sliced through the 44,45,and 46 floors of the Financio Tower and continued to fall onto Madison Avenue during rush hour traffic. The cause was a strong gust of wind carrying debris from the constrution site below struck the crane, severly damaging it and ultimately cuasing it to collaspe. In more news, tensions rise as the capital and its suburbs have been basically held hostage for 3 days now. More on this story as it continues to develop. Lets go over to Molivann who is now at the Crevasse National Park... In more news, tensions between
