Porcu Prepares For Olympiad Usual Dominate Performance Expected Porcuian Olympic Director guarantees one of best showings
ROME- One could only imagine how things managed to get righted so quickly and seemingly in perfect synchronization with the Olympics now set to begin in London.
Since the now rather famous incident between British soldiers and Roman citizens nearly two years ago the "Special Relationship" has been ongoing despite an expected drop in enthusiasm by citizens and politicians on both sides. Duce Lucius Archimedes has made it clear that in todays world allies are still a vital necessity for any nation, large or small, and has waved all charges that were placed on the British soldiers who fired upon the Roman crowd, killing 62.
On a lighter note, patriotism is burning brightly again for citizens here in Porcu as nothing less than gold is expected in several events including football, the various sailing events, the marathon, long distance track events, and cross country.
Swimming has always been considered a lesser sport but newly signed coach Patros Jacques has confidence that his athletes may bring some hardware home and represent Porcu well. "Porcuians in general appreciate the dedication of all sports but obviously some take precedent and I believe that the swimmers I'm taking this year can hopefully change that a little and bring the spotlight back to swimming..."
Competition is always fierce and this year's Olympiad should prove no less competitive and provide nothing less than every individual's best effort...

Canton Rouge Preview A report from the Canton Rouge Olympic Committee As the 2008 Summer Olympics reaches less than three weeks until the start, optimism is high for the Canton Rouge team. And who could blame them? A strong team that has managed consistent results in past Olympics shows that once again, Canton Rouge is prepared to go one step beyond the competition to bring home the gold. As expected, Canton Rouge's cycling team will be at an advantage this year, thanks not only to experienced riders on the team, but also former world champion Charles Vanderben becoming the head coach for the cycling team. With such an experienced rider heading the team, expect to see Canton Rouge place high in the cycling events. Also, Canton Rouge will be expected to place high in the equestrian events. This is no surprise, as this is a long tradition that dates back to the 1300's when provinces of the former kingdom would send out their best horsemen to compete. When asked about the thought of having the Olympics in London, the capital of a former enemy, numerous athletes for the Canton Rouge squad did not show any signs of fear. Rather, they have commented that the past has now occurred, and that now, their neighbor to the north must be looked at on new terms. Nothing less that the absolute best will be given from our athletes, as they prepare to head out to London, for this Olympiad.

Pacific States Coalition preview Expectations from a new nation The new nation known as the Pacific States Coalition is one of the dark horse nations for this Summer Olympiad. Not much is known about their strengths and weaknesses, which leads most to wonder what sports to look out for them in. One probability is to see them shine in the water events, on account of all the water surrounding the nation, and the various rivers and lakes.

London Prepares Itself for the Olympics
Security is at its tightest in London this week as the Capital prepares to host the 2008 Olympic games.
With nations from across the globe sending teams of athletes and their entourages London has become an international hub of hope and excitement.
Preparations have begun in earnest for the opening of the games, which promises to be a spectacular display of British culture and power. With the members of the Empire being allowed to send their own teams this truly is a source of national pride for the member states of the Empire. However, Persia will not be present at the games due to the current conflict in the region.
With Roman citizens allowed back onto British soil for the first time in two years there has been a sense of tension in some areas of the city, with police having already made 3 arrests. However they have been keen to stress that these were isolated incidents and had little to do with the games themselves.
As for the British teams there is a strong expectation for gold in the track and field events, particularly in the form of womens marathon favourite Paula Radcliffe.
The host nation is prepared, now it remains to be seen how other nations will perform in the changeable British summer climate..........

We know that it will be a spectacular event, considering that this is the first Olympics in a long time that conflicts have ceased, however briefly, for the events.
We wish the best of luck for all competing athletes.

Spain's Olympians have high expectations But Trouble may ensue
The Spanish olympians have all of the right equipment, coaches and training, but can they pull it all together in time?
That is the question that many are asking today. With the late inclusion of Spain into the 2008 summer olympics, many of Spains athletes, although having great tools, coaches and training, were not training or expecting to be in the olympcs within the week. This all changed however, when the President, Gavin Metz, decided that his nations inclusion in the olumpics would help with his "World Tour of Peace and Prosperity" (See thread 'Spain renters the world scene)
When one star runner was asked if he was ready, he replied with, "Well, I could have been, but I have been running distance not sprints in order to prepare for a race way down the road. Now that Im competing soon, I have done all of the wrong right training! I dont even know what to do!?!?"
Many people are very stresses about the current situation, but no one can provide an answer untill the olympics begin. I guess we will just have to wait...
