NationStates Wide Conference
An engraving by James Basire of the Cloth of Gold's namesake, 1774
When the Cloth of Gold was annouced to the regions of the world it was very difficult to say how well it would be recieved but one can tell by simply looking at the forum in GB&I that there has been some important developments and therefore a successful meeting of so many regions.
Altogether there have been roughly 30 regions making an appearance at the Cloth of Gold and speaking on many subjects from what NationStates 2 may actually be like and the best way to approach such a new game to Non-Agression Pacts between regions who attended.
There has also been talk on economies and universities in NationStates now and whether they too can be transplanted to Nationstates 2. Due to the very limited resources regarding Nationstates 2 it is difficult to say what all the answers will be but there have been some positives steps towards creating a better furture for all involved.
Treaty Organization Takes Off
Sovereign Regions Alliance Treaty Organization Established
The Representatives of SRATO sit down at the table for the first time
Under the guidance of Fenchurch and her government this term The Sovereign Regions Alliance Treaty Organisation has been able to set up its own forum for the discussion of SRATO operations. Due to the hard workings of all those involved in SRATO there has been some important developments.
The Alliance has recently voted on the membership applications of Europeia and The United Kingdom into SRATO. Europeia was granted membership into the Alliance but The United Kingdom was rejected.
Under the treaty the Council of Representatives and the Sovereign Regions Alliance Treaty Command have both been established and are now planning for the future of the alliance. The Alliance may well bolt into action soon.
Also of important mention is the appointments of Sir Pitt as Secretary-General and Hadisthe as Supreme Allied Commander, both voted for by the member regions, to help co-ordinate the actions of the Alliance.
Members of SRATO[/u]
Great Britain and Ireland (Founding)
The Last Kingdom (Founding)
The New Inquisition (Founding)
Europeia (Admitted)
Together the current four member regions of the Alliance contain a cumulative total of over 1200 nations.
SRATO Conducts First Joint-Military Mission
Great Britain and Ireland in participation with the other signatories of the SRATO command ordered its update squad to hit the region of Rajahland on the 9th August 2008. The troops moved in late and missed the update, however opposition was originally very little and therefore the units stayed until the next update.
Later, forces from defender regions started gathering into the region and, soon there were 40 opposition units.
SRATO Command called for the help of all their armies and citizens, as well as the armies of allies of all SRATO signatories, thus managing to increase the endorsement count from 30 to 108 within less 20 hours.
By the time of the update of the 11th August, the opposition forces had approximately 120 endorsements while SRATO and allies had 108, which resulted in the battle being lost.
Despite that, on its first mission SRATO can say that it succeeded in what it needed to succeed, bringing the armies together of multiple raider/empire building regions. SRATO demonstrated that it boasts a significant military force and that, whoever ignores that, will commit a detrimental strategical mistake.
Tactically wise, the main point of criticism needs to rest on how the SRATO Command failed to secure the region initially and let the situation escalate to this position at the start.
In all SRATO forces mobilised around 60 military units, with Great Britain and Ireland providing 15 of these. Great Britain and Ireland, along with all of SRATO also wishes to thank every single ally that has provided invaluable support in this mission.
