Kane watched as his Gamna missile was fueled and readied for the launch. The spread of Gamna would begin and the final evolutionary process of the Human race would be complete. The target: the former nation of the PSC. Those idiots who had tried to assist his endeavers for their own personal gains would be the first to experience the mutatious effects of the Gamna.
The missile was finally ready. As the countdown commenced, Kane and his men watched as the water crossed below them as their ship sailed along. Suddenly, the missile fired, rocking the ship back as the huge burden was lifted. The missile, continued upwards, through the atmosphere, and would continue downwards, straight ontop of the PSC. Everyone within the immediate blast radius would be vapourized instantly, a small price to pay for success. However, after the warhead detonated, the Gamna would spread like wildfire, in a southernly manner, towards the equator regions.
The effects would be immediate and devastating; noone would be safe from the Gamna. And, because the Gamna spores could be carried by humans to other places, the seed would be planted all over the world. It was time for Humanity to bow to Kane...

The missile headed on a path towards the ruined city of San Diego, a chance to see firsthand how the missile would work. Granted, few people remained in the former capital, but nonetheless, the closer the missile was to the tropical regions, the better. And, it would teach the survivors of the PSC a very valuable lesson.
The missile now began its descent towards San Diego, screaming in like a banshee. And when it hit, the result was tremendous, in the sense that Gamna started flying all over the city. It had begun now, and nobody would expect it.

Kane laughed as his vision was finally taking shape. People all over the city became horribly disfigured, and in most cases, died and became mindless fleshy creatures called visceroids. Every person in the city was killed in a matter of minutes, either by mutation or explosion. The spores in the Gamna were carried by the wind and planted themselves all over South-Western North America, with underground shoots producing countless crystal-like plants. They leeched the soil, turning the entire countryside into a wasteland. Soon, neighbouring towns became mutated, with noone to help them.
High Administrator Sangdor Maff looked at the reports and was left speechless. The fact that Gamna, a mere myth to his people, existed, was surprising enough. The fact that someone would unleash it among the world was beyond evil. "Get me the President of Canton Rouge, NOW!" Maff waited for the screen to activate and for Canton Rouge's leader, Jacques Voorjant, to appear. He would also need to speak with the HTO head and the Nakarakan leader about the possible end of the world...

As President Voorjent heard the great news that the PSC had been decimated in Nakarak, an urgent message came from High Administrator Maff. Obviously, something new must had come up, otherwise, he wouldn't have been so quick. So as to not keep him waiting, Voorjent turned on the monitor and saw Maff looking through papers. The president smiled, and said, "Hello Sangdor, what do you want?"

Sangdor, flustered because of the Gamna outbreak, started speaking very rapidly. "Calm down Sangdor," said Voorjent. "What is going on?" Maff proceeded to tell the President of a substance called Gamna, its spreading effects, and mutation potential. "Gamna has been released, in San Diego. We believe it may reach Nakarak and Matthews in just days."
Kara Glasgow, living in a small town outside of San Diego, never saw it coming. the plant grew up through the floor, her parents screamed, and she felt a pain unlike any other. The Clamparapan-born 14-yr old now fell to the floor, writhing in pain. The only difference between her and her parents was that they were dead, but the Gamna had reacted with her body to turn her into one of the few mutants of Gamna. Stronger than other humans, they were able to heal themselves in the Gamna fields. The strength came from the minerals that were leeched by Gamna and the body reacted well with it.
Kara stood up, obviously shaken. The only difference was that she was now considerably stronger and she felt no pain. In fact, she felt very healthy, clean, and rich in the Gamna. She picked up a plant, and it felt good in her hands. Little did she know that she would become the leader of a group of mutants that would help decide the outcome of the Gamna...

"Now that you mention it, it sounds urgent, Sangdor. Hang on one second, I'm going to see if I can't radio in matthews and warn him to get out of Nakarak. I dont need him to become a casualty in this new war." The president then attached a headset and radioed in to Matthews, hoping he would get the message to leave at once... _______________________________________
Matthews had just finished talking with the new leader of Nakarak when his communication device rang in. This time, it was coming from President Voorjent. As he turned it on, the President was telling him, "Get out! Get out now! You are in imminent danger!"
"Wait, why am I in danger, Jacques?" he asked.
"Let me explain. There's a new danger out from a new terrorist group. And they have released a deadly chemical called Gamna, and it will be in Nakarak in a few hours. Now, leave before you die!"
Matthews was shocked, but he knew of one man who could get him out of this mess. He therefore called up General Leuster, hoping a transport was still in the area to get him. After the general answered, Matthews commented, "General, are there any transport helicopters in the area still?"
"Just one," the general replied. "It's leaving soon, so you best hurry."
"Roger that, Matthews out." _______________________________________________________
Matthews took off in a hurry, knowing very well he had at most, a few minutes to board the helicopter. He ran as fast as he could, trying not to run into civilians or any rubble in the streets. As seconds wore on, he only pushed himself harder to try and get to the plaza where the last helicopter was, loading up key personnel.
Finally, he saw the helicopter, and used what energy he had left to flat out dash to it, before it left the area. He made it just in time before it took off, thus preventing him from becoming another casualty of Gamna. But he knew all too well that the same could not be said for those in Nakarak, who were in the midst of the storm that would soon overwhelm. All he could do was hope they would be warned in time before something could happen.
But before he could get that thought out of the way, Matthews called in to President Voorjent, and notified him he was out of the area. This pleased the President, who notified Maff. Surely, he would enjoy hearing that Matthews had left the crisis zone...

Just like that, the Gamna stopped. The Outlands had become completely wasted but the island remained untouched. The Gamna was completely destroyed by water. It could not travel through it nor over it. The water sapped the minerals from the Gamna, killing it rather than growing it. Nakarak was completely safe from the effects.
The same could not be said for North America. Almost half the entire continent had become enveloped by the dangerous flora. Sangdor did not like the news one bit. However, he was very relieved that Matthews had escaped. "Give my relief to Mr. Matthews, Mr. President," he told Voorjent. "If you have a way to evacuate the uninfected regions of the West, please tell me."
Kara heard the knock and decided to use her newfound strength on whoever was knocking. It would have been a good test, if something didn't go wrong...

"Sangdor, I have a way, but it might be risky. I'm proposing sending a Titan over and picking up the uninfected survivors of this attack. Meanwhile, we need to start finding a way to counter the Gamna. If you have any advice on what to do, it will be greatly appreciated," the President commented. _______________________________
"Evacuate immediately!"
That was the cry that came from the North American Titan Station near Hampton Falls, Virginia. Already, the Gamna was spreading east, and there was no telling when it would make it's way to the East Coast. But for now, at least it hadn't made its way this far.
Fortunately, there was but a skeleton crew as the majority of those stationed there had been sent off to Nakarak to fight the PSC and were now returning home. This would help tremendously as now, everyone could be loaded up on the Titan, which would serve as their way out of this madness.
But they soon learned something that would change everything. They had been ordered not to leave for Canton Rouge, but instead, head out west to gather any survivors that had not yet been infected. Although they knew that there was a null chance of finding survivors, they had a job to do. But they hoped there was a way to avoid contamination from the Gamna, as even with current technology, their suits were not capable of withstanding the harmful flora that was overcoming the continent... __________________________________________
The person knocking on Kara's door was Private First Class Sean Thompson, a new recruit in the once Pacific States Army. He too had become a victim of the attack, and like Kara, instead of being killed by the Gamna, would become one of the few surviving mutants of San Diego.
"H...Hello? Is anybody here?" the private asked, nervously awaiting to see if anyone would respond. He had no idea what was inside, and knew all too well that if there were any hostiles inside, he had no way of defending himself, apart from using his physical strength. But hopefully, nothing was inside...

Sangdor thought for a moment. "There is nothing in our myths that could help you in solving the Gamna problem. However, I have a word of advice. Do not get close to the Gamna fields. Even if there is Gamna surrounding a village and the people there are unaffected. If even one spore gets onto a troop, they could bring it back to our side of the world. We have developed low tech scanners that can allow your men to scan people. It will beep when an infection or spore is discovered. Leave any infected behind. It is hard, I know, but it is better for a few to die to let many others live."
Kara saw the man walk in. Although mutated, he had not been as mutated as she was. The young teen had recieved Gamna crystals imbedded in her skin, giving her skin a redish glow, and had recieved Gamna marks, scars on the skin. The man made his way to the kitchen, where her parents were lying dead. This was when she pounced.
Grappling the man, she was shocked at how much stronger than she he was. He also looked surprised at his own strength and finally threw her against a wall. Screaming in agony, she picked up a Gamna crystal and the pain melted away. She looked at the man. She realized he was like her, in that he had also been mutated by the plant. He looked angry, and even brought his gun around to bear...

President Voorjent acknowledged the harsh reality of leaving the infected behind, but he knew that it was a small sacrifice for the greater good as they didn't want to infect Europe, Africa, and Asia with this deadly plant. Meanwhile, he ordered that all forces remaining in North America to be updated with the scanner technology so as to determine who to save, and who to leave behind...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometime later, western North America
The Titan had now made its way over to the west coast of North America, right at ground zero for the Gamna attack. What they saw was horrifiying: most of the ground was covered in a red crystalline plant that continued to spread. It made setting any force down on the ground impossible, leaving the crew to wonder just how they were going to pick up survivors who had not become infected. They needed a plan...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sean had begun to aim his pistol at the girl when he noticed that she was also mutated by the Gamna. He realized that she too had also been given physical strength, and what he noticed that she was able to heal in the Gamna, something he had just realized.
While keeping a grip on her, Sean asked the girl, "Who are you, and why did you try to attack me? Have you gone crazy?"

Sangdor, after saying good bye to Voorjent, called upon HTO Secretary General Alexander Seleucus to warn him and possibly get aid for the Western People. He knew that with Clamparapan, Canton Rouge, and HTO scientists working on a repelent, they could kill Gamna once and for all.
Kara looked up and saw the soldier pointing a gun at her. She told him, "You're an invader in my home, my family is dead, so I have to naturally defend myself." Suddenly a crash was heard upstairs. The two mutants looked up and 5 visceroids came through the ceiling. They started moving towards the half-humans with verocity.
Obviously, the smell of the Gamna imbedded in Kara intoxicated them and they growled as they advanced. Firing his pistol at them, Thompson tried to kill one with a full clip. The mature creature (two or more combined immature visceroids) just shrugged off the shots like they were nothing. Kara had already stood up and she was becoming more and more pissed that these stupid animals would want to take her precious Gamna. Thompson, shocked that the gun had no effect, was even more shocked when Kara, more affected by the Gamna than he was, stepped towards the creatures with her teeth clenched...

Sean saw Kara move towards the visceroids, and knew she couldn't take all five on alone. Therefore, he did what was best and moved himself towards one of the immature viscerods and grabbed it by what was the closest thing to a throat. He grabbed the creature and threw it towards the wall at a great speed, knocking the creature out. And for good measure, he stomped the creature, effectively killing it.
Meanwhile, Kara had also begun attacking the creatures with a rage as she fought to defend her Gamna. Obviously, she had a great attack power, so she too was also able to remove the immature visceroids as well, leaving now only the stronger mature creature. But the two figured they might be able to take down this threat together. So as Kara moved on the creature with a fit of rage, Sean took the time to get behind the creature and deliver a fierce kick to its backside, which made the creature howl in pain. As Sean continued kicking the creature in the new wound, Kara used this to grapple the visceroid down to the ground, which allowed Sean to grab the neck and squeeze it, until after moments, the creature fell.
Sean looked around, and after observing that no other threats were around, he turned to the girl, and told her, "My apologies, but I had no idea whatever this plant is could cause so much chaos. And I didn't mean to intrude, I was just hoping there were survivors that didn't become frenzied maniacs like whatever we just fought. My name is Sean. Sean Thompson, and I was but a soldier with the Pacific States Army, before all this began. But what the hell did I do to deserve this? My hometown was vaporized by some ionic weapon, and now, I'm in this situation."
"You may not like me," he continued. "But right now, I'm the only person around here that doesn't want to take you out. And we can't stay here for long because sooner or later, whatever came after us will be here in bigger numbers. The only place I suggest heading would be east, away from the city and all these nightmares."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Wait, check it out. See that small island surrounded by the rivers? Apparently, no Gamna has intruded it."
This came as a surprise to the Canton Rouge soldiers who thought that there would be no safe haven whatsoever to begin recovery operations. But now, at least there was a place to set up a base camp, and from there, begin their operations.
To test the dangers of the outside world, one volunteer was selected. He donned his Nuclear Biological Chemical suit and used the onboard drop pod to guide himself onto the small island. Once there, he reported, "No Gamna readings here. Somehow, it may have a weakness to water, which may explain why the island is uninfected. As for the ground, there's no spore readings as well, but this place has been horribly disfigured. Beginning patrol, out."

Kara started to well up with tears and leaned against the wall. Sobbing, she told Sean, "My parents are dead and I'm a freak!" Although a mutant, she was still 14 and what was going on was too much for her young mind to handle. Sean, trying to comfort her, said, "It's not your fault." She looked up from her hands and eyed him angrily. "What do you know? You're part of an army that attacked another country. You know nothing of responsibility!" She pushed him and took off, out of the house and into the Gamna fields.
After running a small distance, she saw someone. Not a visceroid or a Gamna dog, but a real human. She cried out and the man turned around. Grinning, he told her, "You look lonely, girl. Want me to keep you company?" Kara, being a naive and young teen did not know any better and found herself moving closer to the man. He suddenly grabbed her and threw her to the ground, doing so with an immense amount of power. Gasping she tried to stand but the man held her down. Suddenly, she knew this was one of those "strangers" her parents had warned her to stay away from. She could do nothing and, as he started laughing and dragging her off, she began screaming...

Sean heard the screaming, and on instinct, rushed out to where the man was dragging Kara away. He shouted at the man, "Hey, fight someone your own size!" This got the man's attention, and as he began heading towards Sean, Sean produced a combat knife from his pocket, with the intention of teaching the man a lesson. As soon as he got close enough, Sean jabbed the knife into the right eye, and when he pulled it out, blood and eye matter flew. He then jabbed it into the left eye, and pulled out more eye matter and blood.
The man, now injured considerably, asked, "Why, why do this to me?" Sean replied, "You're a creep." And he did the unthinkable by grabbing the man, and throwing him against a nearby crumbling stone wall, killing him.
After seeing the product of this, Sean turned to Kara, and told her, "You need to be careful out here. This isn't like before where nothing could go wrong, because there's many things out here that might kill you. And right now, I'm the only person around here that doesn't want to harm you. If you want to go on your own, that's fine, but you're gonna last much longer if you're with me..." _____________________________
"Bravo team to Titan. San Juan Capistrano has been searched. No signs of survivors, but a lot of destruction and decay here. Returning to base, out." This was bad news for the Titan crew, as this was the first village they encountered, and when searched, there were no survivors. And with more Gamna spreading, the chance of uninfected people in the region was diminishing fast. But hope could not be lost, as there were other villages to search... _____________________ Paris
"As I was saying, General Leuster, we cannot rule out rescue operations as long as there is the chance of human survivors in the blast site."
"And for your information, Mr. President, we are risking a valuable asset just for what, 10 people at the most?"
"You seem to forget that the Pacificans could have erected bomb shelters to harbor out this..."
"Wait, here comes Mr. Matthews." Timothy had just enetered the private meeting hall where President Voorjent and General Leuster were busy arguing over the merits of the rescue operations. It had been a long couple of days for Matthews, considering that the helicopter was the one way trip from North America to Europe.
"Have you contacted the Clamparapan science team yet for an update to the Gamna threat?" Matthews asked.
"We're preparing to patch a comm line to them right now," the president commented. He then did the necessary patching of the info line to get the communications set up. As soon as he saw the familiar sight of the scientists, he said, "Hello. As you know, I am President Voorjent of Canton Rouge. Accompaning me are General Leuster of the Canton Rouge First Army and Timothy Matthews. Our researchers are hard at work trying to find a way to counter the Gamna threat. But how are things going on your end?"

Dr. Poully Derwits lowered his glasses and read off his lab reports. "We have found out a few things about Gamna. Firstly, it completely kills every living thing it comes into contact with, by sapping the minerals. It appears as though it has a greater impact on animals than on humans. We have yet to even think about putting it through repelent phases. It carries spores that can travel with the wind and infect large areas. We believe that it uses shoots to grow around the area and sap the minerals from the soil. We have thought of reintroducing Agent Orange into the area to kill all living plants and vegetation. This would deny Gamna food and nourishment. However, minerals will still allow for nourishment. Agent Orange should slow it down." The scientist sighed. It would be a long war against Gamna.
The bullet slide into the chamber and clicked. Kane looked through his sight and found his target. Sangdor Maff, the High Administrator, the bane of his existence. Kane would end that very soon. Taking aim, he found his target. Squeezing the trigger, Kane did not hesitate in packing up after he had fired. The shot had entered the leader's shoulder, dropping him. Aids rushed to his side and an ambulance was called. The scene was chaotic, but it was just another kill in a successful day. Kane had just shot his own flesh and blood and didn't even feel remorse. To him, he had no brother...
BREAKING NEWS!
Ladies and Gentlemen. The High Administrator has just been shot! We have no word yet on his condition or who could have orchestrated such an attack. We don't have much information at this time for you but we will get back to you with more information as it becomes available...
