Red Sox Report

RSN nations: 85
UN Delegate endorsements: 22

Inc-red-ible Fact: My Urinary Tract has 32,57% of total forum posts
1. 85 nations. 85! On September 22nd, we had only 72. Now, for you high and mighty huge regions (yes, that's you Lexicon...) eighty five might be a number to laugh at. But thanks to incredible recruiting by all RSN members (namely Virtall and Georgdem), RSN is growing like never before. Forum activity is just about at an all-time high and this growth looks like it will continue into the future. We have more posts-per-day than almost any region around and look to reach one hundred nations soon.
2. However, two members of the government have been very inactive. Both our Vice President Western Mountain and First General Carcino Rebels have been absent from their posts. Though they check the forum once in a while, their jobs are not being done. Impeachment is definitely a possibility - as frustration grows, so do the calls for the drastic measure. Carcino Rebels looks like he might have just returned - in time? We'll see. Impeachment for Western Mountain should begin as soon as tomorrow.
3. Patriotism has skyrocketted recently in Red Sox Nation. We boldly designed a new flag - look at the top banner of the forum. We have a new RSN map section with many nations registered. Lastly, a RSN motto is being thought about. Current polls show the leaders to be Sic siempre Yankees! - Death to the Yankees!, 'Melior quam res madidus' - 'Better than being drunk', Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori - it is sweet and honorable to die for your country, and "Through it all, together". Why all the latin? I don't know...

So, here we are, on the precipice of immense success. No goal is too high, no ambition cannot be achieved. The future of RED SOX NATION is bright, brighter than it ever has been.
In the past few months, I have watched as RED SOX NATION emerged from summer doldrums into new activity. From world isolation into world prominence.
The fiercely contested September elections displayed the growth and new found activity in RED SOX NATION. Our immigration team, led by Virtall, has worked tirelessly to increase our activity since the elections, and they have succeeded. Both regional population and forum activity are at all time highs. Regional population has increased by fifteen members in just two weeks. At this rate we will have over 100 nations by the middle of terms, a truly incredible achievement. Forum activity has increased to incredible proportions; we now have over 40,000 posts on the forums. Additionally, our Foreign Office, led by Winstonopia has furthered our interests on the world stage. Consulates have been established with active, powerful regions such as Hyrule, and Aberdeen, as well as many others. We are working toward alliance pacts with these regions in order to secure our future and safety.
But this is just the beginning. We can achieve even greater honors if we endeavor for them. We can make RED SOX NATION the greatest, most active region in NationStates. Everything is within our power. But, in order to achieve these lofty ideals, the members of RED SOX NATION must work hard, must strive to reach them. And so, I call on all members of the region to work together to make RED SOX NATION the best NationStates region ever! In the words of Walt Disney, “All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them”.

The International Democratic Union gives their forum-elected UN Delegate governmental power. Hyrule has an elected UN Delegate who participates in their cabinet in the executive branch. In Jethnea, the elected head of state Premier is the one "responsible for discussing and voting on behalf of the region in the UN". As for RSN, we seem to be alone in our stance. We keep the UN entirely out of regional politics. We use the NS endorsements system and the UN delegacy is constantly up for grabs. Interesting!

One of the most interesting things about Red Sox Nation is how well everyone on the forum gets along, despite our different opinions on just about everything. Whether we are having good-natured debates during elections, or just silly conversations in General Discussion, everyone in RSN has something to contribute, be it analysis of my crappy fantasy football team or coming up with an entire system to create a map of RSN. There is a job for everyone, be it recruiting, a position in the Regional Council, or just to be someone who can contribute to any discussion.
Something that I personally have found in my time in RSN is that everyone gets along so well due not only to the mutual respect we have for each other, but that despite our differences, any two people can find something they have in common. While the guys have found it rather easy to bond over Keira Knightley and other “babes,” I have found that I too have things in common with them all. For instance, both The Southern Acre, our president, and I, are native Rhode Islanders. I’ve talked to the former writer of this column, My Urinary Tract, about more topics than I can count, anything from epic fantasy books to the type of people we are attracted to. I’ve played countless games with Georgdom and Teredona, and am constantly talking to Winstonopia and Physics Part II in the Sports section. And this is all just in the General Discussion! I won’t even get into all the talk that goes on in the other sections of our forum. The point I am trying to make, of course, is that despite all the different people from different places, everyone in RSN gets along wonderfully, and that is something I love about our region.

This week we have seen the region grows massively; nearly ten nations I believe. This is mainly because of the effectiveness of the Immigration Office, led by the Immigration Officer Virtall. I believe recruiting is the heart of NationStates, and no great region can exist without it. This is why I choose to join the Immigration Office when I came to this region. I send around 250 telegrams a week from which I usually gain 5 or 6 nations. It is equally important to keep nations in the region though, which is why I support the new proposals for an Internal Immigration Supervisor, who will be tasked with keeping nations in the region. It is no use recruiting if you can’t keep the nations!

This is a government-endorsed newspaper but all news, articles, and editorials are the opinion of the author only and not necessarily all of RSN.
