Finally, both Scorpions were ordered to move out to assist the Protoans against the rebels. They were supported by their three Warthogs and 40 Yahin Intruders. Commander Sintia led the assault but when he heard about the Protoan gunships move towards the border, he called forward his communications officer. He sent this message back to Protoan High Command in Kuwait:
Protoan High Comand, this is Commander John Sintia of the Clamparapan 8th Heavy Division. Do not send those gunships to the border. There is a no-fly restriction up there and if they do get shot down, it may cause a war between us and the US. Only pursue the rebels to the edge of the restriction zone then pull back. Our Scorpions are on the way to assist your men, but let the escaping rebels be Nicassar's and the US's problem. Inform the US of these rebels and tell them to take action to stop these terrorists. If they ignore you, well I hope they have a good guerilla fighting army in there because it will be a long war for them. Also, with SPQR putting to sea, should we launch a threat fleet? This fleet will stay just outside of Gulf waters and will prevent any illintentioned vessels from entering. We are advancing so it may be awhile before I reply to any questions you have put I will try. Commander Sintia out.
The convoy continued to advanced and eventually made it to the fighting. The tanks opened up with a volley on the buildings, while the Warthogs drove through. Their chainguns made short work of any remaining enemy soldiers. When the last rebel was shredded by the huge machine gun, the YIs went through the buildings to make sure no rebels were alive. There were some enemy soldiers but they were demorilized. One man did fire on the YIs and wounded a soldier. He was instant torn apart by the YIs new MA5B Assault Rifles. After the remaining rebels were rounded up and sent off for questioning, the YIS settled down for a rest. Just as they did this, a T-74 tank suddenly rounded the corner and fired a shot. 6 YIs were blown apart by the blast, before the Scorpions turned their turrets at lightning speed towards the attacker. Although small, the 90mm guns were kinetic energy guns, close to electromagnetic rail guns, that could send the projectile at super-sonic speeds. So fast that the first Scorpion shot melted the T-74's armour, went through the crew, and hit the engine, blowing apart the tank. The YIs breathed a sigh of relief and went back to resting and looking-after the wounded...
