ooc: im using this as means to start the thread to give ya'll some idea ...Breaking News...Despite the brief war with Protoa, the Federalist Republic of Zionir has steadily increased it's relationship with the Reich. The peak became apparent when Chancellor Ace Counterfall declared that Zionir has joined the United Reich to become the Reich State of Zionir. Chancellor Counterfall has now become Grand Moff Counterfall. Many have questioned what would happened the nation of Zionir. Would it stay self autonomous? The answer is yes, Zionir will remain semi independent, with Grand Moff Counterfall reporting to Chancellor Sig Naia of the progress of Zionir. The Grand Moff will also have a main seat in the United Reich's Governing Council, helping with decisions on legislation for the Reich. However, this does not come without a great cost. The territory of Kuwait (not including Bubiyan Island) and Qatar have staged formal protest and have separated from the Reich and Zionir. They have begun starting a provisional government under the name of Islamic State of Jizeera. A possible military action is not out of mind, but hopefully diplomatic relations can begin. Kaiser Lucian sat in his office, while Grand Moff Counterfall waited in his seat. Lucian then turned to the Grand Moff. "We have a situation here. Many of the Reich's citizens live in Bubiyan Island and Qatar. We simply cannot allow the Islamic State of Jizeera exist. And if we must allow it, we must then work with them to ensure that the citizens of the Reich remain safe. I will have General Saren meet up with you in the Zionir State Capital of Zion in 3 days. Until then, I bid you goodbye, and I hope to hear from you soon." With that, the Grand Moff was escorted by the Reich's Secret Police to the airport. Lucian sighed and then continued to the look out the window and v.iew the skyline of Corneria

Curia Hostilia
"Order! Order!", Tiberius Maxentius shouted now standing from his seat. With help from his fellow Consul Tiberius was able to regain control over the Senate. "Now...let us move on to the next issue...Scipio..."
Cornelius Scipio stood from his seat next to Tiberius and began, "Senators...I'm sure many of you have already heard of the events that transpired in the Persian Gulf region of the Middle East. It seems that while the nations of Protoa and Zionir have joined the Protoan territory of Kuwait has revolted against the United Reich of Protoa..."
Murmurs arose from the Senators, many gazing around to see the reactions of others. Many began to see the problems that could arise from an invasion of Kuwait. Robengrad could become involved and that would directly affect the SPQR. For months, Consuls Tiberius and Cornelius have been working the other Senators, especially the Julii, trying to create doubt about the Central Powers Alliance and hopefully bring it to a vote. Now seemed like a perfect time and Tiberius certainly wasn't going to waste the opportunity.
"Romans! I too am very concerned and worried about these events and what possibly might happen. That is why I now call for an immediate vote; a vote to decide whether or not Rome will continue to carry on in the Central Powers Alliance!"
Loud shouts came up and many Senators were now standing, arms raised, bellowing. Calls to remain in the alliance mixed with hearty shouts to quit "for Rome!" Tiberius and Cornelius allowed some time for debate after the Curia Hostilia was once again brought under order and within the hour the votes were cast, either "For" self-removal from the alliance or "Against" self-removal...
Final Tally - FOR: 78 AGAINST: 22

"Sir, Kuwait and Qatar are in a state of rebellion. We have to prepare for possible moves against Nicassar. Nimitz is on full alert, and Protoan forces in the area are bound to start making military moves soon. They will not stand for a state of the Reich to rebell." Stated SecDef Rumsfeld flatly
"What are our options then?" asked the President
"Mobilise the 10th armoured, and move them to the border, advise the Ayatollah to ready his Republican Guard and hope that no-one is stupid enough to start a firefight with us. Either Rebells or Protoans. On top of that I would advise the creation of a no-fly zone along the border as well, with the U.S.A.F. on order to shoot down anything that enters it."
"That does sound a bit over the top Donald" replied Bush.
"I know sir, but if we do this then chances are Protoa will stay even further away from Nicassar."
"Very well, but I want to offer Protoa an alternative. Tell Lucian we will move the 10th Armoured into the North of Kuwait to put down any rebels there should he want us to. And that all we ask in return is his friendship and a mile long exclusion zone along the border, on his side."
"Yes Mr. President."

Captain Gonzalez watched with suspense as the Might entered the Gulf. The Nimitz was on their starboard side. They kept moving at a slow speed past the ship, trying to draw the aircraft carrier's attention for a brief minute away from the skies. The fast Helican, Mach 0.7 transport planes would need it...

Nimitz CIC room:
The arrival of another CPA ship in the Gulf had them all on edge. It was expected, but still left Nimitz even more outnumbered with the U.S.S. Eisenhower still 12 hours sailing away. The Might had taken up station at the very edge of Kuwaiti waters, not 3 miles from the Nimitz. More worryingly it too had planes on its flight deck, apparently ready for launch. Then it came.
"Contacts!!! Might has launched 2 aircraft, classified as Helican transports!!" shouted the RADAR operator.
"Right, scramble! scramble! scramble!" Ordered the flight commander.
Up on the flight deck 2 fully armed Tomcat fighters sped down the runway assisted by the catapults. They had barely left the deck when the next 2 took their launch positions. 30 Seconds later 4 Tomcats were screaming after the Helicans at Mach 1.
Meanwhile the Nimitz relayed its first and only message to the Might, "You are close to Nicassarian waters, which we have been charged with defending the sovereignty of. Furthermore be aware your jets are close to a no-fly zone, should they enter it we will shoot them down. This is your one and only warning."

Attention U.S.S. Nimitz
We are sending transports into Kuwait to drop troops in to qwell the recent uprising of rebels. We are in no way attacking Nicassar. We are assisting Central forces with security and, if need be, assist in putting down any possible rebellion. We will in no way trespass upon soverign U.S. or Nicassar territory. We will pull back from the no-fly zone but you must give us another route to the Protoan base near Qasr as Sabiyah. Otherwise we will have no choice but to fly them through the NFZ. Please do not attack them, as we would hate to have to destroy one of your ships in retribution.
Captain Juan Gonzalez The Might
Gonzalez hoped that the arrogance in his message would set the record straight and tell the U.S. ship that they were not joking around. They really wanted to help out the Kuwaiti defenders against the rebels but this NFZ would be tough to get through. Hopefully, there was another way around...

Captain Gonzalez: We will escort your transports through the NFZ, this time only. Following this fly through we will enforce the U.S. sponsored NFZ with terminal force. Remember this, we are not and will not be intimidated by your threats. Should you test our resolve again you will discover why the U.S. is the power in Hyrule.
Henceforth I suggest you take to the open waves, seeing as you are so proud of your naval power. I also remind you that the U.S.S. Eisenhower is 6 hours sailing away, and your fleet is well within strike range of the U.S.A.F. base in Baghdad. So consider your words and actions carefuly from here on in.
Captain Greg Foreman U.S.S. Nimitz

News Brief
Tensions continue to rise here in the Gulf as hours ago several troop transports belonging to Clamparapa were seen approaching the No-Fly Zone. This zone was set up very recently by the United States and it seems is supposed to protect Nicassar.
Details are not quick to be given by the US military and the discussions in Rome have started to become more worrisome. Although no military actions have been ordered by the Senate thus far many believe that the nervous Senators will not wait for the situation to deteriorate further. However, only time will tell...

Message to Greg Foreman
We are relieved that you are allowing us to land in Kuwait. We assure you our intentions are not to attack you. We are putting to sea and will be out of your waters within 1.5 hours. Thank you again.

Bubiyan Island, Kuwait
General Saren stood at the podium on the United Reich's only sovereign territory in Kuwait. This rebellion was going to be put down, and with extreme predjudice. "My fellow Protoans and Clampaprans. Today marks the day that we begin to qwell this rebellion once and for all. I am having the 305th and 23rd infantry divisions to begin the takeover of Kuwait. We will start here and move on to Qatar. We will not and cannot allow this Islamic state to exist. Your Commanders have their orders. Dismissed." ============================================= Lucian just received the message from the United States of Robengrad. To that he replied,
"A friendship you have. I will allow the mile long neutral zone to exist. However, I do not require your troops to be in Reich territory. I will contain this small rebellion and I won't have them attacking Nicassar. " ============================================== 3 squadrons of FB-22's flew above Kuwait City, enblazoned with the Protoa's flag.
"This is Falcon Leader. Listen up. We have reports of rebellion activity in the NW sector of the city. We have our orders to engage and terminate any buildings marked on our HUDs. Let's go."
The Protoan planes each turned in unison and began to unleash their payloads, taking out the State building, and several marked buildings that proved to be rebel strongholds, given the massive amounts of lead that were spitting from the ground around them.
"Falcon Leader to base. NW sector sterilized." ============================================= 10 Protoan M-1 Abrams tanks began there plodding journey from Bubiyan Island. As they crossed the bridge into rebel territory, they were met with gunfire and RPGs. One of the Abrams took a hit, blowing the right track clean off and putting out of commission. It was then that the 9 remaining tanks fire a volley at the location of the gunfire. Buildings spewed concrete shrapnell everywhere, to mingle with the corpses of the rebel troops....
============================================== Breaking News Alert
The PSS Violator II, Protoa's flagship has been seen leading Copenhagen,Protoa enroute to Qatar with a fleet of 5 destroyers, 3 cruisers, and 2 Nimitz Class AirCraft Carriers. The exact purpose is somewhat unknown, but is believed to begin controlling the waters around Qatar and possibly Kuwait....

The U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower finally arrived in Nicassarian waters, bringing with her the usual carrier escort. Immediately the Nimitz assumed the flag of the fleet, combining the 1st and 2nd carrier fleets into one.
With this many vessels in such a compact area such as the Gulf it seems increasingly likely that the U.S. will make a swift and brutal strike against any hostile forces in the area. The news of this build up has led to some minor peace protests in and around the U.S. but these are being largely ignored by the main populace.
But reports that the new U.S. supercarrier, the U.S.S. George Bush, as named for the 41st President, and her carrier group containing both the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln and George Washington Nimitz class carriers, have put to sea are likely to further increase fears of war. ----------------- ----------------- In other news sporadic firefights broke out earlier between Islamic extremists and U.S. forces in Nicassar. It is the first such reported event since the troops were stationed there and has been played down by the Pentagon. One Marine was injured and 5 enemy combatants killed.

The two massive Helicon transports lifted off from the Protoan Base near Qasr as Sabiyah after offloading their equipment and troops. Although there were no Bloodhounds, there were two of the newer, faster, and more heavily armoured 90mm Scorpion tanks, three new Warthog LRVs, and 60 Yahin Intruders. The commander, John Sintia ordered the two Scorpions to take up positions to guard the base from possible attackers. A Warthog was ordered to scout the area around the base and eliminate any rebel that might ambush advancing forces. The remaining YIs set up in the base and prepared for fighting. They had heard about the ambush against the Abrahms and were prepared to attack...

News Brief
Just hours ago remnants of various naval legions were seen leaving their respective ports and slowly making their way into the open ocean. With the Mediterranean a Roman lake, SPQR warships have almost nothing to worry about, able to travel across the sea at will.
While the ships' final destination is unknown and the Senate has not spoken about the orders as of yet at this point we can only assume that this move is response to the increased military activity of Clamparapa, the United States, and Protoa. Recently the Senate voted to have Rome split from the CPA, allowing the special relationship between Rome and the United States to flourish once again. While many clamor for peace and stability, Rome has not fought in a war for sometime, at least more than what citizens were used to under Mussolini. Some demand peace, but some also lust for blood...

Breaking News Update
After intense shelling of the Jizeerian Territory of Qatar from the Reich's BlitzFleet, the territory Caliph has surrendered. The Islamic State of Jizeera has now been effectively cut off from the main government and Kuwait remains a country without a government. The United Reich's BlitzFleet, containing the Reich's Flagship Violator II, has been seen enroute to Kuwait, on the final approach to possibly bringing this horrific skirmish to a end.
In news from Kuwait: Clampapran and Reich troops have been seen scouring Kuwait City in search of Islamic rebels. The territory of Kuwait is nearly conquered, with only North Kuwait and Kuwait City remaining in rebel hands. We have received reports that Islamic rebels are fleeing Kuwait to Nicassar. The United Reich has issued orders for 4 squadrons of Apache helicopters to be dispatched to the North Border, to engage and terminate any sight of fleeing troops.
============================================= Lucian sat watching the media coverage and then thought, "The roundup begins. Now let's see how far they go."
