News Report
The nation voted today to reveal that Spain will indeed merge with the Roman Republic. Talks have already begun between the nations, and interest has been shown by both sides that this is the right thing to do. No word yet on if other nations know of these intentions, but we will surely soon find out. Should these nations merge, it will create a true powerhouse that could be unrivaled in all of Hyrule. We are are still waiting to hear an official statement from the Roman Republic about our nations intentions....more news to come as we hear it! Thank you and goodnight!

PBC Broadcast
"Welcome all to this special program of the PBC! I'm Luigi Barra and while the issue of Roman expansion into Hispania has been brought up a few times in the Senate it has never been a serious movement until very recently. The issue was brought up last year by a popular initiative and after Romans had their opinions heard the issue was brought up before the Senate.
The connection between Rome and Spain runs back thousands of years, back to the days of the Early Roman Republic and many Spaniards can draw their ancestry back to Rome. For this reason, once the SPQR was re-established in Porcu there began a strong movement in both Spain and the SPQR to reunite their respective territories again.
Now, it seems that the issue has come to a conclusion and just minutes ago members of the press, and the world at large, received news that the Senate has finished voting on the issue..."
*Cameras re-adjust to focus on Senate steps located behind Luigi Barra, where Senators began to file out and soon were swarmed with anxious citizens*
Tiberius Maxentius quickly managed to reign in the large crowd of citizens and members of the media by using the Praetorian Guard. Members of the press were allowed through to question the Senators and soon Luigi Barra made his way to Tiberius Maxentius himself.
"Consul! Consul! Please inform the Republic of the decision reached!"
"The Senate passed the issue, nearly unanimously." ============================================== That Evening
The cameras were all ready and the teleprompters in front of Tiberius Maxentius and Cornelius Scipio were quickly skimmed for mistakes so that any last minute corrections could be made. Within the minute a man gave the signal for the address to the nation to commence.
"Romans...Today marks a new day in the history of the Republic.", Tiberius began.
"Not since the days of the Early Roman Republic has the Mediterranean been "Mare Nostrum", but now because our fellow Romans in Spain have voted to join with the SPQR Rome may once again rule supreme.", Cornelius added.
"Many in Spain have ancestral connections to Rome and their calls for unification have not gone unheard. Earlier today, the Senate voted to have the nation of Spain join with the Republic of Rome and soon all in Spain will learn what it truely is to be "Roman" again. Roman citizenship will be given out at the Senate and Governor's discretion, along with Latin citizenship. Consul Cornelius Scipio and I are appointing the former President of Spain, Gavin Metz, as the Governor of the Roman Province of Hispania."
"Let tonight be a night of celebration! Rome will never perish!"
