"Today the President has called for further talks between the U.S. and the CPA. It appears his hopes are to calm mounting tensions in the middle east.
"The Protoan response is expected soon. However President Bush has not ruled out discussions with seperate nations from the CPA treaty......

Curia Hostilia, Rome
"Thank you gentlemen, thank you all! This session of the Senate is finished and we will reconvene tomorrow morning at precisely the same time as today.", Tiberius Maxentius shouted so that all the Senators could clearly hear him.
As the other Senators began to clear themselves from the Forum Tiberius called his fellow leader of the Republic, Cornelius Scipio, over to him.
"Have you heard of President Bush's calls to Protoa for further talks?"
"Of course I have...Why? What could this possibly have to do with us?"
"Well, I have been thinking about the Central Powers Alliance and have come to the conclusion that this alliance is worthless to the Republic. Worthless in the sense that we are no better off by aligning ourselves with Protoa than staying on our own. Besides, we have put our relations with the United States in serious peril, I believe."
"Serious peril? I doubt that our relations have dropped to that level, but I must agree that Messe's last move has not turned into a positive investment. Are you thinking of canceling the treaty?"
"In short, yes, but we must wait. I intend to pass one major reform, which would grant us all within the Senate lifetime terms..."
"Tiberius, you know that while the Julii will vote for this eventually they will put a fight up in defense of the people?"
"Yes, I'm aware of that and I plan to also include that other notable Roman citizens will be eligible to occupy a seat in the Senate...naturally the door to the public will open, but only slightly as each vacancy will be voted on by the Senate itself, making sure that only the most deserving get in..."
"And once this is past do we immediately motion to strike down the Central Alliance Treaty?"
"That question will be answered within the week as we see what results come from the talks between Protoa and the United States..."

Corneria, Protoa
"So the United States wishes to speak with us. Very well." Lucian then sent a message to President Bush.
To President Bush,
We are willing to speak with you on the middle east and various topics. If you would like to meet us in Corneria that would be greatly appreciated.

Following a favourable response, President Bush has today left the U.S. aboard Air Force One bound for talks in Protoa.
It is hoped that these talks will stop the build up of troops in the Middle East before an International Incident takes place.
Following this visit it is suspected the President will make a brief stop-over in Porcu to meet with the representatives of the Senate for the first time. The so called "Special relationship" seems to have waned in recent times and the President is keen to re-kindle the friendship that as always been so strong between the former Fascist power houses.

Corneria, Protoa
Lucian silently waited for President Bush's plane to descend. The original talks with the United States of Robengrad did not go as Lucian hoped, but they at least established a peace with the United States. But now, as he saw the Air Force One begin to land on the tarmac, Lucian knew that these talks would be to prevent a future war in the MiddleEast. That was definitely something that Lucian wanted to avoid.

News Report
While the day to day activities of Romans go unchanged and politics within Rome continues on without excitement tension in the Middle East has begun to churn. The latest series of events in the region have strained relations between Protoa, and the Central Powers Alliance in general, and the United States.
In an effort to smooth relations and halt rising tension between the two nations, President Bush has called for talks between the United States and Protoa. The Protoan government has responded to his call by inviting him to Corneria. Details of their discussion are relatively unknown, but it is certain that the latest events in the Middle East will be a prime topic of discussion. After calling for talks between his nation and Protoa, President Bush also expressed interest in holding discussions with other CPA nations. Reactions have been mixed by the SPQR.
"Our 'Special Relationship' with the United States is something that is very near and dear to all Romans...The Senate and People of Rome wish to continue this relationship at all costs, which has brought prosperity and happiness to both nations...Romans truely do consider those of Robengrad to be their own brothers and sisters...", Consul Cornelius Scipio stated yesterday during the Senate's daily press conference. Fellow Consul Tiberius Maxentius added, "President Bush did express a wish to hold a meeting and I would not even think about declining him. Certainly, relations between our nations are not as high as they were during the times of Mussolini, but there is a lot of room to work with and improve...I anticipate the President's arrival will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the history between our two nations..."

As Theafer watched the news reports of the talks on TV, he told Grand Marshall Pranex, "Keep an eye on these talks. If anything does not go well in Corneria, either because of a zealous group, or terrorists, I want the Yahin Intruders in the city to assist immediately. When these talks are over, send Lucian a message asking for me to see him and if I can help. I will not ask what they talked about in the talks, as it is confidential, but I want an idea of what they did talk about."

As Air Force One landed in Corneria, President Bush prepared himself for what could be an explosive days talks. What he had in mind was going to be controversial to say the least, and he was not sure how the CPA would take to it.
As he stepped out of the plane he saw Lucian waiting for him. Stepping down he aproached Lucians welcome party and shook his hand, "It is a pleasure to meet you again Mr. Lucian, I hope we can sort this little mess out swiftly, and before any accidents start something that cannot be stopped."

Kaiser Lucian smiled. "It is good to see you again too, Mr. President. The escalation in Nicassar has been rather unnerving to the United Reich of Protoa. Hopefully, we can put your concerns to rest. Shall we?" Lucian then proceeded to walk with President Bush to a black limo with the Protoa's Cross of Lorraine on the corners of the car.
"Mr. President, now you will see the greatness of Protoa in it's grandest splendor. The United Reich takes great pride in the way it governs itself now. You will see the Corneria at it's finest."

"I have been told of the advances you have made Mr. Lucian. The staff in my embassy here are most impressed. And I echo their words. Protoa seems to have developed greatly since the fall of Communism.
"I wish to discuss with you the situation in the middle East. But before I continue I would like to hear what you have to say on the matter of the military build up there."
