Outskirts of Nicassarian Border
"Sniper Team Alpha, do you see anyone?"
"Not at this time, Base. Wait, a truck is approaching the target area."
"Confirm you see the target."
"Positive ID on Dracon. Permission to fire."
"Permission Granted. Don't miss, Alpha."
"Don't worry. I never do."
Spotter Alpha looked over at her Comrade and told him that the leader of Al Gedi, the man who had killed thousands, was in their sights. All Sniper Alpha had to do was squeeze the trigger. They knew the meeting had been scheduled for that general area but not exactly where. The Clamparapan Government had been very "persuasive" with the POW informant and had gathered a lot of intel from him. Including information about a man named Dimitrov Ingraslov. This was the man behind everything that Al Gedi had done in Hyrule. Starting with the attacks on Hytland, up to the nuclear attack on Clamparapa. The meeting was not between Dracon and Ingraslov, though. Rather, it was between Dracon and an unnamed source. Could this be the "badger" Canton Rouge had named? They hadn't gotten that much out of the informant. Still, the Sniper Team had a huge fish jumping out of the water for them to catch. Sniper Alpha took wind speed into consideration for his shot and finally pulled the trigger. It took a second for the bullet to reach the target, but when it hit, it blew Dracon's head clean off. Sniper Team Alpha stood up and bolted towards the Extraction Point before anybody knew what happened...

*2200 Hours*
"Alright team, go go go!!!" It was go time for the operation, and without the airforce to assist them because of their need to repair and regroup, the CRISF was pretty much on their own. Instantly, the CRISF started their advance towards the safehouse in captured civilian trucks. Along the way, an incoming transmission came by:
"CRISF, be advised. A hostile by the border was just assassinated. I repeat, potential hostile has been neutralized. This is not our target," the incoming voice said. With the affirmative from the operatives, they continued to advance the six miles to the safe house.
*****Safe House Area, 2220 Hours*****
The five trucks carrying the thirty operatives pulled up to about 50 meters from the safe house. They were in luck, for the rebels believed them to be additional reinforcements to secure the area from potential attack. With that, the operatives decided to assualt from the back and from the side, thus splitting themselves up into two assualt teams. And with the Scorpions Protoa were manning as security, they believed the rebels would more than likely either surrender, or fight foolishly.
"On my signal, we burst in. Secure the first floor, then while Red Team secures the second floor, my team will secure the basement," the commander said, waiting at the rear of the house.
"Roger that!" All of the operatives responded. It was now a matter of time before the rebels faced their doom....

With Dracon dead, Al Gedi wanted revenge. The convoy approached the safehouse and saw the 5 or so trucks lined up there. The trucks' troops were in sight. Funny, they weren't expected. Then someone noticed the Canton Rouge ethnicity in the troops and rushed forward to help their comrades, angry that they could be decieved this way....

"Move in!" shouted the team leader. Just as soon as the two teams started to move in, they were fired upon by Al Gedi.
"Ambush! Take cover!" yelled one of the operatives. Already, three or so were incapacitated from the initial ambush, and now the operatives were caught out in the open with little cover. Cursing under their breath, some of them tried to find whatever cover they could to avoid being supressed. Red Team leader called in to CRISF command, and asked, "Sir, we are being pinned down by unknown forces, requesting air support, out!"
"Negative, any air support will be at least a half hour in, out," command responded. And seeing that would not be an option, a call for desperation came out from Red Team Leader: "If any allies out there are reading this, this is the CRISF. We are pinned down at grid Echo Echo Fourteen. We need reinforcements, or air support to avoid being slaughtered. Some of my team is already inside seeking cover, out."
Despite that, about 20 operatives decided to still proceed with the operation. Upon the first signal given, the remainder smashed open the two doors, and caught the rebels inside by surprise, who were not expecting the attack. Instinctively, they were gunned down. The rest of the troops searched the first floor in the hopes of finding their two objectives. When they weren't, the 20 remaining operatives split into two teams of 10 to clear the basement and second floor.
*Second Floor*
Despite the stairwell up to the second floor being secure, one rebel took his chances and shot at one of the operatives. He took three bullets to the chest and fell over. In response, the operatives threw a flash grenade that blinded those inside the rooms. None of them could really stand a chance against the operatives and their extensive training. But now, heavy gunfire was raining down on the windows and the teams were forced to stay low. Eventually, they sounded the order of: "Second Floor clear! No sign of either objective!" Now, the team needed to find a good position of cover to wait for reinforcements....
*Basement*
The basement team immediately stepped inside, where heavy blind fire greeted them. One of the operatives threw his flash grenade, which effectively stopped the blindfire, and dropped the rebels. Inside the next room, one of the operatives reported, "I see Objective COBALT ('The Badger'), out."
"Roger that, capture him if possible," command responded. The team decided to stage a dual entry to capture him. Five operatives each lined up on an entry, and at the same time, the lead operative threw a flashbang in. This practicallly blinded the room, and when the team entered, they started shouting, "On your knees! Hands up!"
Though he knew they would not last long, 'The Badger' decided to play along and dropped down to the ground. The other rebels decided not to surrender, and were instead gunned down. After the room was secure, the team moved on to the final room in the basement, where to their luck, on the table, was what they were looking for.
"Commander, we have secured Objective COBALT! We have also retrieved the Sword. I repeat Sword and Badger are under our control...." The transmission ended their for an explosion temporarily knocked the systems down. When they came back up, the new response was, " This is the CRISF. We have or objectives secured. But we are pinned down. We may not last long against these forces! We need help. I say again, we need help. We may not last long. Out."
Now, the CRISF could only hope that someone heard their cries for aid, and that the aid would come before they all faced death, or capture.

Commander Hawkins of the 11th Armoured division sat watching the firefight from the dunes up above the safehouse. He had been ordered there after intelligence pointed to this spot being of strtegic importance and arrived just as the C.P.A. assault began. Now he saw the enemy pinned down, and his chance.
But Hawkins was not the only one watching these events. The radio man in AWACs 2 heard the desperate calls for help from the CRISF, and decided he was the man to answer them, "Striketeam Charlie, we have a new target for you. C.P.A. forces and insurgents are invlved in a firefight 10 miles East of you. The C.P.A. want air support. You are weapons free, repeat, weapons free."
300 miles South a smile cracked across the face of Captain Taylor, "Roger that control, Strike team Charlie inbound." All three A-10's turned hard right and dove down to attack level. Within 2 minutes they were at the target zone being peppered with small arms fire.
"Bombs away!" came the call and soon over 10,000lbs of high explosive were hurtling toward the ground. As the A-10's pulled up to disengage one was hit by a stinger missile, battling to remain in the sky it headed for the nearest airbase, its pilot praying to find one before it was too late.
Hawkins watched the resulting explosions, and once he was ready ducked back inside his M1A and ordered the assault. If anything was left alive it wasnt going to last long.
Behind him moved 35 M1A Abrahms tanks, and 20 Bradley Fighting Vehicles. More than enough marines to settle this.

When the Clamparapans recieved the distress signal, they sent choppers to assist their Canton Rouge allies. As they approached, they saw the US division and the fires and knew what they must do. They turned and deployed snipers on the dunes on the outskirts of the safehouse and continued on. The troops in the choppers were well trained Clamparapan Marines with state-of-the-art technology. They knew they needed to assist the Canton Rouge troops and help them extract the sword. They called in the aid of an AC-130 Spectre with fighter support, which would arrive in 15 minutes. They would have to hold out until then. The snipers opened fire first, with the helicopters landing and offloading troops. All they needed was the sword in one of the helicopters, which could lift off and get away. That was all that mattered...

The sight of the landing helicopters immediately boosted the morale of the troops who were more than ever ready to exit this nightmare they were in. But, fate had another card in it's deck.
"Sir, we don't have the actual Sword of Nakana," an operative said.
"Come again?" he responded.
"We do not have the SWORD!!! They fed us a clever fake, but this sword is missing the ornate design."
"At least we still have 'The Badger' in our hands," the commander sighed.
"Actually, that person we captured was really an aide disguised as him."
"Curse these rebels. Ok, when we get a chance, get the incapacitated on board those helos. Then we and the Clamparapans will board next. Then we'll regroup back in Zionir, understood? And take that aide with him, we'll see what he knows."
"Roger that!"
Although the troops wanted to escape, they knew that until the AC-130 Spectre came in and strafed the area, it would be senseless to attack.

As the Canton Rouge soldiers were deciding what to do next, the man who they had thought to be the "Badger", picked up his vibrating cell phone and answered it. The on the other end started by saying, "The sword is absolutely fabulous. I can't believe it was so real that even our own troops thought it was the right one. I will soon rise up and take over Nakarak with this sword and will have hundreds of deadly solders willing to die for me. You may now give them back their nuke, Mikhail. I am done with it."
"Praise Allah, it will be done," Mikhail said. He picked up the detonator/timer and set it to explode in 5 minutes. Everything within 5 miles of this area would be vapourized with hundreds of miles getting the radiation. He sat back, smiled, and closed his eyes...

The operativs watching over their prisoner noticed he was laughing. They turned and asked him what he had planned. He laughed, then said,
"Hehehe, you are all fools to stay here, hehehe." One operative heard a ticking sound, and saw that it was coming from a suitcase. He just had to peer inside to see the worst: a nuclear device had been set to blow in five minutes.
"There's no time to disarm it!!!" he shouted. "Grrrrr, all right, run for the helicopters, we have no time to waste! Now move!!!" the commander barked back, and instinctively, everyone started to run for it, and one operative found himself carrying the aide, after he knocked him out with a rifle butt bash of course. Everyone was shouting to just run for the helicopters, as the place was going to blow very soon. Even though outside was a killzone waiting to happen, the operatives found themselves sprinting outright to the helicopters. One of the operatives got into the helicopter, and screamed to the pilot, "Get going, a nuke will obliterate us all if we don't get out of here! We only have a couple minutes left!!!"
Everyone was hoping to get out before they got caught in the blast...

The pilots lifted off and flew as fast as they could towards the Robengrad divisions. After picking up their snipers, the communications officer sent a message to the Robengrad troops.
Attention, Robengrad troops.
A nuclear-type bomb has been armed in the safehouse. Do not attack the choppers that are approaching. We will not attack. We are trying to escape. You must get out of the area immediately. We can take a few of your men if you like but you must decide quick. We have less than 3 minutes left!

OOC: Time to get this back on track.
IC: Time was moving slow, and the Robengrad troops wouldn't board the helicopters. Suddenly, a white flash appeared from the safehouse, and in an instant, a massive explosion overtook the area, decimating everything within a five mile radius. Some of the helicopters were fortunate enough to be away to prevent being blown away, but the same could not be said for the other helicopters, those left behind, and some of the Robengrad troops down on the ground. In addition, the base camp was also obliterated. With silence, the remaining helos flew south, knowing that they had faced a bitter defeat.
***Camp Fontaine, Zionir***
Two soldiers walked in to the CO's office and presented the news to him. One look at the After Action Report from the CRISF, and he immediately growled. He yelled, "Curse those rebels, and curse Al Gedi! I knew they would try something like this! Send a wire to the C.P.A., send another one to Robengrad, just let the world know that we are facing a threat to world stability."
"But sir," one of the soldiers replied. "Robengrad will not listen to us, sicne we are in a state of war." "Listen, Ali Azakam still holds the Sword of Nakana. That's bad enough. Throw in the fact he may very well be in Nakarak right now, and that is a recipie for disaster. Surely President Bush has a sense of reason to realize that if this is the case, it will not take long for Ali to gather up an army of Nakarakians that he can use to reclaim Nicassar. From there, he may very well try and take the world over. So send him a wire telling him of the situation, now!" the CO responded.
"Yes sir!" The soldiers left, and the CO turned to look at the setting sun. He then returned to his desk, sighed, and started writing the dreaded letters to the families of those killed in the nuclear attack.

The ship looked out over the water, just outside of Reach. The converted Ticonderoga was modified to carry 2 missile launchers on its deck and these missiles turned to aim at Riefort. One of the missiles launched , but instead of hitting the city, it burst in the air above the capitol. As soon as it hit, all the lights in the city went dead. The missile, while not physically harmful, was an electromagnetic pulse missile. It covered an area of 100 miles around the city, with small towns getting hit. The burst went as far away as New Shadow Valley, which was still trying to rebuild after the nuclear attack on the city. The incident known as the Riefort blackout had begun...

Bernstadt
The communique from Al Gedi had just been passed over from Clamparaba to Canton Rouge. And the immediate response was dispair. They knew just how capable Al Gedi was between their EMP attack on Riefort, and the nuclear detonation in Nicassar, but to threaten to completely disable all of Canton Rouge would be disastrous.
Everyone was arguing over what to do. Some suggested taking its advice. Others thought it was a bluff. But nothing could be done until Grand Moff Matthews returned from Atlanta, and everyone hoped he would get back soon, because if the threat was real, then the consequences for failure would be extreme.

Nakar Kor sent a brief message to Canton Rouge on hearing of Al Gedi's threat. It read:
I will be brief, as I don't have much time to spare. Anyone who attempts to take the Sword of Nakana and give it to Al Gedi will have the flesh flayed from his body and his innards filled with burning coals. This is Nakarak's problem, and Nakarak will solve it. Once the Sword is recovered by us, we will be more than happy to bring you this Al Gedi infidel's head.
