President Metz arrived by bus at Rome International, and was escorted to where he should wait next. He sat watching the many people scurry around to catch flights, and others sleeping peacefully in a chair. He was very relaxed at the opportunity to sit back and watch life go by, as his life was constant activity all of the time. He was about to fall asleep himself untill a man walked up to him...

OOC: Kudos on how you did my character Porcu.
IC: Upon seeing the driver go into such a hassle over his early arrival, Frederik told the driver to calm down, that it wasn't his fault for anything, and started to slowly sip the offered chapagne. It reminded him of all the best wines in the world blended into one frothy drink. Moments later, he saw Emperor Tojo, and before stepping into his limo, he greeted the emperor and then Frederik stepped inside his own limo, hoping the meeting would go well.

OOC: Thank you Canton
IC:
"Please excuse me...I must go get last representative. I will not be long...", the driver said after being informed from airport security that President Metz was in the airport and had some how miscalculated where he was supposed to be picked up.
The driver scurried along the giant corridors, bustling with people going here and there, slowly making his way to where Gavin Metz was. Seeing that his guest was asleep he made sure to slowly waken him, not wishing to startle the President in any way. A few jabs at Metz's shoulders was enough to stir him from his midday nap and after a good five minutes of apologizing the driver felt comfortable enough to show the President where he should have waited for the limo.
"It no fault of yours, Sir. Bus service is lazy. I very sorry to keep you waiting!"
Soon enough, and just as the driver assured the Emperor and Representative, he arrived with President Metz right behind. The door was opened for the Spanish President and Metz entered to see that the other two representatives were waiting on him. The driver shut the door and quickly entered himself. Within 30 seconds they were on the road traveling fast towards the Maxentii villa. The driver only hoped that he wouldn't lose his job over a simple misunderstanding and bad fortune. If there was one man he felt he could trust it was the one that had first arrived. ========================== Maxentii Villa
Tiberius Maxentius could only imagine how splendid the entrance to his villa looked from a stranger and representative. He had obviously grown used to the opulent elegance and brilliance of Rome's immediate countryside. From inside the limo it must have seemed like the gateway into heaven, for with the angle of the morning sunlight and the trees and brushes an image that one could only dream was painted before the delegate's eyes.
The driver pulled the limo to the front of the residence which, due to the traditionalist nature of the noble family, was exactly what one would think of when they had to picture an "ancient Roman mansion." Tiberius stood waiting at the top of the marble and stone steps, standing in between the massive marble pillars supporting his house. As the driver rounded the car and let his master's guests exit Tiberius stretched out his hands, "Welcome! Friends of the Senate and People of Rome! Please come inside..."

After slowly getting outside to take in the picturesque scenery of the countryside, Representative Eisel proudly walked over to Tiberius, and after shaking his hand, told him, "I am honored to be in the presence of such a noble group of rulers."
Not wanting to over-extend his greeting, Frederik made his way inside the villa, and was amazed by the blend of old and new. He never thought that such design of classical architecture and modern life could fit so easily, but there it was. Frederik thought of proceeding onward, but instead, waited for the other representatives to proceed onward, taking the time to admire the villa for all it had to offer.

Tiberius wanted to make a strong impression and knew that it would be one of the few things that his guests could judge him by. After introducing himself to his guests one by one and after shaking their hands he allowed them to wander inside. Within a few feet from the entrance they were already shaded from the sun, which was now beginning to pick up strength as the day grew older.
The towering pillars of marble gave way to an arched ceiling, decorated with colored tiles. Because the villa was in the hills overlooking Rome an occasional breeze swept through the grand hallway and throughout the entire villa, which was all open for a reason, cooling down Tiberius as well as his guests.
"Yes, I doubt you can find many other living residences like this one. I can think of 3 other ones and as you can imagine they are all here in Porcu.", he said with a bit of a smile. "We Maxentii have always been the protectors of Rome and the Republic since the very beginning. To honor my ancestors and the SPQR I live like they would have...Their houses open to the elements to liven one up and show them the beauty of nature, but also sheltered so that comfort and peace can be sought easily."
Tiberius slowly led his guests to a shaded balcony overlooking all of Rome, where the other 3 faction leaders were patiently waiting. Tiberius knew that timing was important and so did not force his guests to introduce themselves. He allowed the foreign delegates to gaze in appreciation and envy at the sheer beauty that was his home and birth place. Soon enough however formal introductions were made, with every person saying hello to each other and shaking their hands, respectively.
"Please sit, Emperor Tojo, Representative Eisel, and President Metz. May I get anything to drink for any of you? Which reminds me...How was the trip from the airport?"

"My trip from the airport was very good. It was odd for me to see the actual countryside for most of my life is in the busy city of Tokyo. The driver was very polite, as well as your air traffic controller. As for a drink I will have some water please." Emperor Tojo sat down in his seat waiting to see when we get down to real discussions.

"The trip was very exquisite, especiallly seeing the blend of city and countryside. For a drink, would it be troubling to ask for some Orange Juice?" Representative Eisel found his seat and awaited for the others.

"It would not be a problem at all...", replied Tiberius, who quickly summoned one of his servants and in a quick Latin phrase told her to bring his guests their drinks. "I understand that you gentlemen drank some of the wine that I had to offer and I hoped that it was to your satisfaction.
Everyone had by now taken their seats, including Cornelius Scipio, Gaius Brutus, and Marcus Julius, and Tiberius was anxious to begin the discussion.
"Now then...I don't think that you are all here for the same reason and so you shall take turns explaining your interest in meeting with the four of us...", pointing to himself and the other faction leaders. "We will address any concerns or questions you may have and if you would like to have a more private converstation then that can also be arranged, but it will have to be done later on today."
Tiberius Maxentius looked first at Representative Eisel. "Representative...would you be so kind as to begin this conversation and discussion?"

Representative Eisel was waiting for this moment. As soon as Tiberius ended his speech, he started to explain Canton Rouge's purpose of being here.
"Well Tiberius, Cornelius, Gaius, and Marcus, Canton Rouge's, and my purpose of being here is quite simple really. We hope to start diplomatic relations between the two countries. In a sense, we mean setting up embassies in our respective capitals, boosting trade between our nations, in a sense. Mainly, we chose to start with Porcu because of it's influence in the world." The representative took a quick break to sip his drink, and then he continued.
"Our leader, President Matthews, will accept any diplomacy efforts that result from this meeting. The questions I have for the consul is, what would you think of this?" The representative sat down and awaited the response.

"I believe I speak for the other noble Houses of Rome, as well as my own, when I say that the SPQR would be very much interested in trading embassies and bolstering trade between us. However, my support does not mean that you will gain the support of the rest of the Senate. True, I have the highest official position and carry great influence but it will be up to the other 99 Senators to decide...", Tiberius said being interrupted by a slight hand gesture of Cornelius Scipio.
"If I may, Consul Maxentius...Representative Eisel, I wish to give you my word that when these issues relating to your nation go before the Senate you will have my support."
As Cornelius Scipio ended his little interjection the other two faction leaders nodded their heads in approval and agreement.
"I am very happy to see that you decided to come to Porcu first...", Marcus Julius said after letting a few seconds go by. "You and your president have made a wise choice in turning to Porcu for the Republic has much to offer the younger nations of this world."
"No doubt...", Tiberius Maxentius said seeing that the Representative's issues had been discussed and covered. "Now, Emperor Tojo what brings you to the heartland of the SPQR?"

Emperor Tojo spoke to the leaders of the house of Porcu, "I come for a fairly simile reason that is to reaffirm the relation between our two nations, we have been allies since almost the founding of my nation, only once have we seen the opposite sides of a war, and that was the first we were both involved with (OOC: look at the homecoming thread). I came just to insure that our nations will remain allies."

President Metz had the same interest at the moment. He felt that an alliance could now be forged publicly since Fascism had left the country. He felt that their nations could greatly help eahother, and so he spoke up...
"Well, I too would like to propose the idea of an alliance between Spain, and Porcu. I feel that as both of our nations are democratic, we can help eachther greatly. Also, with our nations bordering eachother, trade will boost both of our economies. While I know that your military might is extreamely powerful, we could and shall also assist you in times of need or want, should we become allies. Is this something that you are interested in as well!?"
He then waited for a response from the men who would most likely need to take a moment to discuss the proposition.

Tiberius was about to respond to his guests concerns when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned slightly to find Cornelius Scipio already engaging in heavy discussion with Marcus Julius and Gaius Brutus. There was no cause for concern as Tiberius knew very well that his guests and foreign dignitaries could not speak or understand Latin. A fast paced discussion, at least to the foreign representatives, unraveled.
"Stargate is a major trading partner to the Senate and People of Rome! As former members of the Axis we cannot simply have a "neutral" stance towards them...", Scipio said.
"Well their human rights record is a bit spotty at best and the Julii House is the one that pushes for equal rights...", Marcus responded.
"We know all about your families concerns Julius! Please spare us! The Republic cannot lose a major trading partner!", Brutus said interrupting Julius's thought.
"Then it is settled.", Tiberius Maxentius said. "The relationship that Mussolini founded between Porcu and Stargate will remain the same...Now about Spain?"
"I find their proposal for military support to be quite funny and laughable, to be honest. And while they may have some stuff to offer us I believe that it is they that need us more than we need them!", Cornelius Scipio stated boldly.
"That may be true, but...", Brutus said quickly being interrupted by Maxentius.
"Scipio is completely correct in my opinion and I have already come to a decision on this matter. Trade will be accepted and military support will be turned down, but we shall make sure that it is on our terms."
The three other faction leaders slowly nodded their heads in approval and then let their eyes gaze back at their guests. Tiberius apologized for that side conversation, but said that it was necessary to completely discuss everything between themselves.
"To the honorable Emperor Tojo we wish to inform you that the strong bond between our two nations will remain so and our two nations can continue to grow and prosper together."
"To President Metz, we kindly accept your offer for increased trade however I wish to inform you that your own military will not be needed to defend the borders of the Republic..."

Emperor Tojo said, "Okay then, this is a great thing to hear. I hate to be acting as though I am in a rush; however, I do have a major conference to prepare for and it would be embarrassing to be late to my own conference. If you don't mind that I leave shortly. May our two nations grow stronger together."

President Metz responded to the men after Emperor Tojo had left.
"I fully understand your reply. Our trade shall benefit both of our nations. I also wanted to inform you about something else. In my nation there is a family known as that of the Iberians. They claim that they are a part of Porcu. They state that they deserve a spot in your government, and feel that they should be here with you right now. They once wielded power, and want to have it back. Now, this new form of government is something that interests me...I would like to know your feelings on the Iberians, because perhaps in the future, all of Spain can join your lands, and the Iberians will have a say in your government."
He then waited for a response, but knew that a long discussion would surely take place.
