Ministers and Deputies
By Vote of Confidence, Deputy Ministers were appointed to office:
Deputy Minister of Defence: Carbanousa
Deputy Minister of Justice: Old Ogastein
Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs: Niongor
Citing RL home and work pressures, duly-elected MoRA bweezy resigned his post.
Cabinet allowed some time for reconsideration, and to allow bweezy to post his own statement, but eventually decided that it was necessary to move on.
Deputy MoRA Omnivorous has been elevated to Minister of Regional Affairs. Niongor now serves as deputy.
WA Resolutions
Neutrality of Nations:A resolution to slash worldwide military spending.
Rejected: 2 For, 13 Against
The resolution passed in the WA, and was immediately followed by several resolutions to repeal.
Requests for Embassies
A number of requests for embassies have come before the cabinet.
Formal exchanges embassies were re-established with the region of England, created with the regions of The United Kingdom and The Kingdom of Hampshire, and declined for The Last Kingdom, North Pacific (without the The) and Jethnea. Canada wishes to maintain informal relations with regions regardless of diplomatic status.
MoFA jDELIGHT made the following announcement to the region and its visitors:
On behalf of the current cabinet, I would like to announce that members of all regions are welcome here on our boards, regardless of those regions' diplomatic status with us.
We have recently begun to implement our new Guidelines on Diplomatic Relations, and in doing so, we often find value in relations with regions that do not qualify for embassy exchange. We will continue to establish embassies and exchange ambassador(a)s with other regions. That vital system will not change.
However, we want to encourage participation and exchange on a more informal level with many regions. In doing so, we learn more about one another and find new opportunities for NS gameplay.
In the case where regions are rebuilding or restructuring, it will give us the opportunity to get to know them (or you) better, and they us, before we make a decision to exchange embassies.
In short, please feel welcome to participate on our boards, start threads and discussion on interregional affairs in the International Voice (this subforum), and invite us to your region's events.
I thank everyone for their patience as we rethink and update our policies on diplomacy with other regions in NationStates.
In a Good Way,
jDELIGHT

House of Commons
Current legislation under discussion:
Should the region have a titular head of state/president?
Does the HoC need a Speaker of the House position?
How often should the Cabinet report be issued, and how detailed should it be? This issue has been referred back to Cabinet for a final vote.
New Legislation
House of Commons Voting Act
Giving the House of Commons a process to draft and refer legislation for Cabinet consideration

The Arcade
The new game that is sweeping Canada is Runaway Trains. So far Katemmanza has the highest score with 3652, barely beating out West Fryslan who has 3624.
The Water Cooler
The news of The Moose Bi-weekly has been announced by founder and Chief of Press Fin. Though sadly not many people responded to becoming a reporter for The Moose. Hopefully this will change.
Also as usual, in the game of Guys Vs. Gals, the guys are losing 2 games to 1.
Role Play
Heroes, created by Rylvan, has become a new favorite among the regular RP players.
Seeing Shadow limping to the sink, I raise an eyebrow.
"What going on? Are you ok?"

In terms of regional influence - more nations, higher influence - unless The UK starts going out at night dressed with capes and lurid green masks...
