The start of a new era!
After nearly a year and a half since the Christmas Revolution, Liberalia has gone through it's second revolution. It has been officially declared the summer revolution, and the start of a brand new era for Liberalia.
It started the day of June 8th, when Carops, who was being charged with two crimes that day, was unhappy with the region. Julio Trigman's case was appealed, and the region was starting to become more forgiving of former enemies who had comitted crimes over a year earlier, during a time the region was more divided, yet he continued to not forgive. He was then put on trial for making some insults towards the members who were pardoned (despite the fact their behavior had improved), and the prime minister.
Then, that night, the original forum (http://z14.invisionfree.com/Liberalia/index.php?act=idx) was shut down. Originally, it was thought to be a blackout, but strangely the server was still up when you went to log in. After finding out from invasionfree it was "shut off", people began to suspect Carops had shut it down because of his trials and dissatisfaction with the region. In addition, admins couldn't log on to fix the problem, meaning their admin powers had been taken away. A new temporary forum was made, just in case Carops was in fact responsible and didn't plan on giving it back.
The day after the forum was shut down, Carops claimed it to be an accident. He opened the forum, and then suddenly left the region for good. Many were suspicious of it being an accident, as the process is somewhat complex, and involves a confirmation message afterwards, which is automatically set to "no (as in don't shut off)".
A few hours later, Carops came back to the region and banned several members, including Latagon, Loslakia, Julio Trigman, Fernetti, Nucleawasta and delegate Kurt (Whitlamia).
Kurt tried several times to unban the members, but it became too late. Kurt's delegate powers were taken away, and he was banned for the last time.
On the old forum, Timberlake openly confessed that him and Carops planned this, because of their dissatisfaction with the way the region had become. After a furious reaction from members, Carops shut down the forum once again.
Knowing this would be permanent, members declared this to be a new revolution. Members started to realize that the first time people really began to disagree with or challenge Carops' views or actions, he banned masses of people and shut the forum down.
The prime minister was given emergency powers, and banned Carops and Timberlake for two years. In additional, he let in former criminals Northern Sushi and Four Hectares, who had comitted crimes over a year prior, during a time the region was more divided. Not to mention neither convict had been tried (Sushi had been, but he was banned again shortly after he returned when he sentence ended). The spirit of the summer revolution was that of forgiveness and harmony.
After only 2 days, 22 members have joined, and most are active. Liberalia the name is still in question though, as the region is not sure whether to remember its roots, or forget the negative that lived with it.
Please stay updated on more of the summer revolution. There is plenty more to be decided and we will inform you ASAP.... cheers party0012.gif !
