Hello Hyrule!
I have a story to tell you all, and it comes accompanied by illustrations provided by your most lovely forums.
You see, we in Great Britain and Ireland got a message today--- a message from South Malaysia, informing us that our embassy over here was on the verge of being shuttered due to inactivity. This wasn't terribly surprising actually, for GB&I had gone through a political crisis in late July/early August which left the region without an effective government, and prior to that point a period of relative stagnation over the summer had settled in for a most unwelcome stay. Updates were not written, the diplomatic corps had nothing to post and ambassadors were not updated and managed, so as you can imagine things fell into a bit of disrepair.
However, times have changed in Great Britain and Ireland. Following a general election recently being completed and a new government appointed just last week we are back on our collective feet, and things have begun to look up (though they still have a ways to go!).
Anyways, when we heard from you guys today I came over here prepared to take responsibility for everything, clear the blame for our ambassador (though probably send them a slightly peeved personal message about participating in regional affairs more :stare:) and generally clear the air. Then I saw who the ambassador was.
I am sorry to say that Eagmont, shortlived member of GB&I though he was, was and is actually a member of the Federal Commonwealth Society. During his time among us we were at war with the same FCS [ ] and he was sent to us as a 'defector' and moved his way up the ladder a bit. Anyways, the war ended back in July and he has since 'returned' to FCS, but not before he was given charge of this embassy. So, with our governmental stagnation and political chaos setting in we never got around to changing him.
Sorry, but I found it kind of funny that our ambassador actually worked for another region instead of ours when I arrived.
So, we shall have someone new for you shortly, hopefully within the next week or so as a cleansing of the Foreign Office and an update are being prepared. In the meantime though I'll be happy to act as a representative to you from Great Britain and Ireland, and answer any question about GB&I, our people and ways, and our wide variety of spam (to go with the tea of course ) which you may have.
Regards,
