The government of Aternus announced earlier today that the war ministry has ordered the formation of an Aternus naval contingent with long range, deep-water capabilities to offset the nations limited coastal forces. This action was undertaken, because of the recent loss of the Aternus Private Merchant ship the A.P.M. Endeavor to pirates several days ago 200 miles north of the island of Sentinelle.
The first component of the fleet will be completed within the year and will include some fifteen warships. This force will comprise of three aircraft carriers, the Battleship Pride of Aternus, which is almost complete, along with seven destroyers and four nuclear capable submarines. In order to offset the nations 23 coastal destroyers and the derelict cruiser the A.N.V. Recife that have only shallow drafts and limited ocean going ability.
The government has also relaxed arms restrictions on Aternus Merchant vessels and is now allowing Merchant captains to arm their vessels in any matter their private resources will allow.
The government would also like to insure the greater community of Hyrule that this naval build up is in no way a threat to peace of the region and any Aternus merchant vessels that our found to be privatierring under Aternus's new guildlines will be held accountable and punished by the laws of Aternus.

The War Ministry announced today that the first contingent of the new blue water fleet is complete. The department has also stepped up production deadlines for 6 more squadrons of similar strength.
The Government has also ordered all segments of the Aternus military to increase recruitment totals and to increase the overall military strength of the country by 50% over the next five years.
Construction has also commenced on the Citadel of Fel Morayin in the Northeast portion of the country. The Army has also deployed 250,000 addition troops to the eastern border and the Aternus Air Force is repositioning fighter-interceptors and heavy tactical bombers to the east.
