OOC - Anyone remember the French Confederation?
Full Name: The Republic of New France
Local Name: French Indochina
Capital: Saigon
History: The fall of Gaullism and the French Confederation did not extinguish all traces of former French glory, and despite the Canton Rouge annexation of what remained of "France" the French Confederation has survived in one form or another in the tropical climate of French Indochina; a still functioning "province" of the French Colonial Empire. As the primary base for the French Foreign Legion and much of the late French Confederation's naval fleet, the Governor of Indochina (Pierre Hautecloque) had little trouble in securing the preservation of order and stability in French Indochina despite the fall of the motherland, and promptly declared French Indochina a nation independent from the defunct Confederation.
Wisely deciding to grant the native Vietnamese full citizenship rights and an active say in the governing policies of the New French Republic, Hautecloque has successfully managed to unite both whites and Vietnamese into an effective government, and has stifled the attempts of the Viet Minh's failing communist revolution (an obsolete ideal in the 21st century).
Prime Minister: Pierre Hautecloque
Head of State: Nguyen Cao

Armed Forces
Using the original French Confederation's armed forces as a template, the New French Defense Force (NFDF) also maintains the use of the French Foreign Legion as an integral part of it military, building upon the ideals of "liberty" and "fraternity" regardless of race, religion, or creed. Employing both whites and native Vietnamese without discrimination, the NFDF nonetheless is just as effective as the French Confederation's almost exclusively 'Gallic' army.
