Due to the inactivity in the forums, I propose that people active in Hyrule be able to RP more than one nation (so long as other nations aren't used in conjuction with each other to obviously empower one user's profile) to fill up the empty spaces in the map, and add a bit more flexibility to the overall storylines which can gradually rise out in a short matter of time. I myself have an interesting RP storyline in the process regarding a situation in the nigh-completely empty continent of Africa, and would love to see more nations spring up on the RP boards. This has worked very well in my 'other' RP region the 'European Continent', and has ensured that RP continues to function in this area even though only about twelve people actively RP at a time.

You know, I sent Ness a message about this and the map idea but she never responded...

Ness must be busy then..
Still, current Hyrule law allows a person to (currently) RP two nations 'legally'.. I just think that the situation we're currently in calls for a bit more 'flexibility' on the part of the individual RPer.
That said, I have moved one of my puppets into Hyrule and will begin playing it (not as my puppet, of course) as a separate nation.

Sounds like a good idea.

It does sound like a good idea and a way to help the role play here.
I personally think being allowed to RP two nations (including your main) is very flexible considering that would mean you have two forum accounts. I myself have another forum account and have used it to RP SM && Mozilla Thunderbird. I think anymore than two, is over doing it a little bit.
I'm currently not on the map, only because, I use my map from the old map. If an outline of what I use could be imposed on the current map...I'd do it, but I am not sure if it is possible.
I cannot truly comment on general RP, since the Alternative Reality is my domain per RP guidelines. But I would like to put a suggestion out to float around on the guidelines since ages ago believe it or not I was the then RP Mod.
In my "iFoum" design I have expanded the Role Play section greatly, and a specif area for just guidelines. Lets just say...if you look at the current guidelines, they are truly for the Hyrule RP that I managed around and that does not exist anymore.
They need to be completely redone, and I have been waiting for a conflict to come when their are not specific rules to deal with it; now we have one.

Of course, we could just do away with all the hassle and just RP both nation profiles from one account, with a little 'bold print' telling readers which Nation's POV is on post.
But yes, RPing more than one nation would help bring about the end of 'world emptiness' in the RP forum, and could allow more storylines to pop in play.

All right, I hate to double post, but I've got some more ideas on bettering RP here in Hyrule. s3.invisionfree.com/nationstates/This has to be one of the finest RP boards in all of Nationstates, with a relatively small group of people (around twelve active) generating powerhouse RP's all around the globe. Unlike our guidelines for expansion, expansion in this region generally tends to be more RP based instead of the population factor. In my 'other' forum, Nations can expand at whim so long as they have the mapmaker's approval and possess the military, economic, and political strength needed to back their claims. As a catch, other nations can immediately contest any expansion plans with military or political force, an action which would be much more likely in real-life. My profile's name there is also 'Ignatius', and do feel free to check out what I'm doing there in the European Continent.

Sounds like a reasonable plan, I really do like the idea of expanding whenever its convenient rather than wait for your population to reach a certain number. One question Ignatius, Does that mean that we should all get puppet nations and RP them?

It wouldn't exactly be a "puppet", mind you, more like separate nations that you RP outside of your main (or original) nation's influence. But yes, it'd mean that we all should get more Nation profiles from NS and move them into Hyrule, with us RPing them in the end.

Sounds good, Iggy. So what your saying, in list form, is in order to expand you must:
A. Check to see if you can make the expansion military-wise. B. Talk with other nations who may not feel comfortable with the expansion. C. Ask the map-maker if the expasion will be tolerated. D. RP your expansion so everyone is in the loop.
Is this what you had in mind?

Yup. That about sums it all up. Step B, of course, would be in an OOC fashion. IC'ly, anyone can choose to contest your expansion claims in RP.

Of course, that's what I meant. Some nations may not be comfortable with expansion into a place they may have liked to have. Then a compromise can be made.
