ALLIANCE AGREEMENT DOCUMENT BETWEEN THE REGIONS OF ABERDEEN AND HYRULE
ARTICLE 1 – Pledge of Friendship
RECOGNIZING that the main ingredient to a strong alliance lies within the bonds of friendship:
1. The region of Hyrule and the region of Aberdeen pledge friendship. A state of perpetual peace is hereby declared to exist between our two regions. No nation from either region may declare war against a nation of the other region. If a war does break out, the aggressor will be censored with a punishment determined by the executive heads of both regions.
2. No nation from either region shall be discriminated against or favored over other nations, no matter their political or religious systems and affiliations, or their status within the government of their respective regions. Any such violation should be reported immediately to the pertinent authorities
3. No nation shall ever be discouraged from presenting their own views within matters between the two regions, such as but not limited to interregional forum participation and exchange, so long as those views are presented in a respectful manner. Members from both regions should be welcome on the forum of the other region.
4. Each region retain their rights to govern themselves independently, and decisions made by one region concerning and affecting the other are only allowed when:
a. the matter is one concerning the good relations between the two regions and,
b. both regions' representatives are in mutual accord as to which action is to be taken.
ARTICLE 2 – Regional Defense
RECOGNIZING the dangers presented by raider regions, and the need for increasing security from their threat:
1. Each region will agree to defend the other in times of need whenever circumstances allow it, and when such times of need are not the result of reckless military behavior by either region.
2. Each region will act in such instances independently from other military ties that they might have as part of other alliances.
3. Each region will ONLY come to the aid of the other, and is in no way obligated to lend help to other regions allied with the two with which this alliance agreement deals with, even if such help is asked by either region signing this agreement.
4. To request assistance with defense, the UN Delegate or the regional Secretary of State must contact their counterpart from the other region. They will then post a message on the regional message board and the regional forum to alert their region to come to the aid of the requesting region.
ARTICLE 3 – Sharing of Non-Classified Information
RECOGNIZING that the sharing of information helps build trust between the two sharing parties.
1. Both the regions of Aberdeen and Hyrule agree to share non-classified information with the other region if said information is requested by a member of the executive government of either region.
2. This article does not apply to classified information. Both regions have the right to continue to collect information fro intelligence purposes and can refuse to share said information with the requesting region.
ARTICLE 4 - Trade
RECOGNIZING that, in the best interest of furthering our regions good relations, a trade agreement will encourage healthy exchanges between our nations, hereby lie the contractual points by which both our regions' nations will comply in matters of interregional trade:
1. No nation from either region shall be discriminated against or favored over other nations, no matter their political or religious systems and affiliations, wherever trading is concerned. Any such violation should be reported immediately to the pertinent authorities.
2. That, in order to encourage trade between the regions, exporting and importing tariffs shall be rendered null whenever an exchange happens between nations from both regions; thus creating an interregional free trade zone. Membership in the Hyrule-Aberdeen free trade zone is voluntary, but very strongly encouraged.
ARTICLE 5 – Support of proposed UN Resolutions
RECOGNIZING that while not every nation in both regions is active in the UN, responsible UN membership means that from time to time there might be cause for either Hyrule or Aberdeen to propose a resolution, in good faith, to make the world a better place.
1. Support for a UN proposal submitted by a member of either Hyrule or Aberdeen, shall be encourage as long as the proposal is:
a. Well thought out and articulated.
b. A piece of needed legislation.
2. Support shall be encouraged, but is NOT mandatory. Each region is still free to decide whether or not the propsed resolution will best benefit the respective region and the UN nations within said region.
We, the representatives from the regions of Aberdeen and the Hyrule, have read this document and are in agreement with its contents. We reaffirm our peaceful intentions and once again pledge our friendship and hereby place our signatures as a token of said peace and friendship:
