"General Karkov, the Germans are approaching our front!" The general scowled. "Of course they would respond in such a fruitless manner to save their precious nation. But the strength of the MotherLand will teach them. Have all artillery batteries focus their attack on the northern front. And have trenches prepared to be dug from the black sea all the way to the baltic. If they want Russia-they will have to face our withering machine gun fire!"
The Russian soldiers in Galicia has pressed forward since no other opposition faced it as of yet. As they pushed toward Budapest, the soldiers wondered if Austria-Hungary were so engrossed with Serbia to notice Russian forces pushing forward.

The German Eight Army began to experiance the first skirmishes of the Russian resistance as they approched Galicia. The Germans quickly began to dig trenches as they were being bombarded with artillery. They did nt dig without their own fair share of fire however.
"Ready! Aim! Fire! *BOOM*" "Well, General, all of our artillery are set up to fire against the enemy artillery. We have already lost some of our guns, but the Russians are not getting away with shooting free targets!"
They began to dig furiously, as machine guns began to rattle back and forth at eachother, inevitably only hitting the dirt of the enemy trench.
"Sir, We are going to need more artillery, or we will have to charge forth and take them by suprise."
"Just sit back and relax, give our artilley some time. The trenches have not even been finished yet"

General Dejan Dominsky looked out on the battlefield. The Austria-Hungarian troops were arriving in full force and were already digging in. The forts were taking pot shots at them but other than that, it was quiet. The calm before the eventual storm was very still. The General looked at his aides and said, "Keep firing at them..."

"General Karkov, we almost have a good artillery barrage going on against the Germans. However, our trenches are only 13% complete." "Fine, finish completing the trenches.... we have to shell those German bastards as much as we can. I also want you to send a request to Moscow for gas masks in case we are targeted with any poisonous gas."
Russian machine guns could be seen picking off targets on the german front as artillery shells pounded at the enemy's construction of trenches. Men could be seen on the Russian front moving more equipment to the forefront...

"Sir!" a messenger ran in. "We have reports of Russians marching towards Budapest! What are your orders?"
The General thought for a minute. "Mobilize the 2nd and 3rd Armies to defend the Eastern Front, and reassign the 5th Army from the Serbian Front to the Russian front." The messenger ran halfway out the door, but was stopped by another order from the General. "Also, I don't trust Potiorek. Tell von Franck to 'take care' of him...And one more thing. Send a letter to the Ottomans. They stand to gain a lot with the defeat of the Russians and Serbs. Tell them if they help us we will share the rewards." *** To the Ottoman Government:
Austria-Hungary is currently at war with Russia and Serbia. If you were to aid our noble cause by creating a second front for the Serbs and a third for the Russians, we promise once we defeat them you will be able to reclaim some of your previously lost territory, like the Caucasus and some of the Balkans. Although you are not a member of the Triple Alliance, entering the war on our side would be mutually beneficial. *** Von Franck received the news. He would be losing the 140,000 men of the Fifth Army and commanding the remaining 280,000 once he'd taken care of Potiorek. He always knew Potiorek's lust for revenge would cause him to make irrational decisions. Potiorek was only attacking from the North, when it would be much more effective to attack from the West as well, thus spreading the already thin Serbian defenses even thinner. He would lead the Empire to victory through superior tactics, numbers, and arms. He went to Potiorek's tent to do the deed...

"How interesting..."
Emperor Taishō rolled the sheet of paper, which was previously a telegram, up and tapped on the desk. "Perhaps this would be a good time to 'borrow' Germany's Pacific colonies..."

OOC: To try and revive this again-even though i am sick of war RP's
The fighting on the front was begging to really start. The soldiers on both sides were new to the voilence they were seeing today. As the men ran through the trenches, people were seen ripped apart from the artillery hitting them. One man stopped running and puked, only to be shot while in the process. the fighting ws picking up. The trenches were almost complete. By the looks of it, the Russians had just started. If only the German Army had more supplies and people to lauch an attack...
Galicia would not be a realistic goal as of now, instead they began to organize an attack to take a hill to the south of the central Russian Trenches. The tanks negan to rumble as they moved to the right side of the German Line, concentrating on taking that hill. So far, there were about 24 Tanks. Not enough to take the hill necisarrilly, but the element of Surprise and the addition of men may be able to do it.
"General, the tanks are moving to their position, the artillery are holding off any large manuevers from the Russians. We have to watch out for any enemy reinforcements as that would cause us to be overrun with enemies. Are you sure you want to strech us out that far?"
"Yes, we have to have a risk in war. Should we lose, the Russians have to information on what we have coming, we will just delay their advancement. I have already ordered for two Panzer Division as well as an airstrike to commence. It will happen within the week...we will not lose my friend, have faith"
