King Miguel was very happy, he finally was going to announce what wonders in Atlantico Norte were nominated for the New 7 Wonders of Hyrule. He was going to talk live for 2 billion people that were listening to him during the announcement on the Royal Palace of Culture, or just following him on the TV or Radio. King Miguel went to the tribune... swallowed and thought "I must not make any mistake"... and then smiled and started his speech. "Ladies and Gentlemen, it's with enormous happiness that I am proud to announce the four nominated wonders of our wonderful nation. These wonders are the finest example of what the Atlanteans can do and have done during the last centuries. I am really proud of all of you that nominated the best buildings, cities, monuments, and edifications of our country via the internet on ANTV's website. A panel of specialists have chosen 3 from your nominations... and the fourth was selected by you on a global voting. Those 4 that are "le crème de la crème" of our glorious nations and I am really proud of the efforts that everyone has done preparing this glorious election. So, without further delaying I would like to announce the Fantastic four of Atlantico Norte": "And the first nominated wonder is... Chichen Itza on the central region of Atlantico Norte, Lusoiberia" An image of Chichen Itza appeared on one of the screens of the room and a voice gave the information about the site. Chichen Itza"Chichen Itza (from Yucatec Maya chich'en itza', "At the mouth of the well of the Itza") is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site built by the Maya civilization located in the northern centre of the LusoIberia Peninsula, present-day Atlantico Norte. Chichen Itza was a major regional centre in the northern Maya lowlands from the Late Classic through the Terminal Classic and into the early portion of the Early Postclassic period. The site exhibits a multitude of architectural styles, from what is called “Atlanteanized” and reminiscent of styles seen in central Atlantico Norte to the Puuc style found among the Puuc Maya of the northern lowlands. The presence of central Atlantean styles was once thought to have been representative of direct migration or even conquest from central Atlantico Norte, but most contemporary interpretations view the presence of these non-Maya styles more as the result of cultural diffusion. Archaeological data, such as evidence of burning at a number of important structures and architectural complexes, suggest that Chichen Itza's collapse was violent. Following the decline of Chichen Itza's hegemony, regional power in the Lusoiberia shifted to a new center at Atlantico Norte. According to the Hyrule Anthropological Association, the actual ruins of Chich'en Itza are federal property, and the site’s stewardship is maintained by AN's National Institute of Anthropology and History (Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia, INAH)." Everyone on the room applauded, you could see many people there waving flags from the Lusoiberia region, where Chich'en Itza is located. Miguel re-started to talk to announce the 2nd nominated. "I see that we have a large number of Chich'en Itza supporters, and I am really happy to see that this one was nominated because it represents a great part of our great history... and now without further delay I would like to announce the 2nd nominated... and the second nominated is... Cathedral of Our Lady of Amiens right here on Atlantico Norte region..." An image of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Amiens appeared on one of the screens of the room and a voice, once again, gave the information about the site. Cathedral of Our Lady of Amiens "The Cathedral of Our Lady of Amiens, or simply Amiens Cathedral, is the tallest complete cathedral in Atlantico Norte, with the greatest interior volume (estimated at 200,000 m³). The vaults of the nave are 42.30 m high, the tallest nave vaults in Atlantico Norte. This monumental cathedral is located in Amiens, the chief city of Picardy, in the Somme River valley a little over 100 kilometers north of Liczbahn. The west front of the cathedral, built in a single campaign, 1220-36, shows an unusual degree of artistic unity: its lower tier with three vast deep porches is capped with the gallery of twenty-two over lifesize kings, which stretches across the entire façade beneath the rose window. Above the rose window there is an open arcade, the galerie des sonneurs. Flanking the nave, the two towers were built without close regard to the former design, the south tower being finished in 1366, the north one, reaching higher, in 1406. The paucity of documentation concerning the construction of the Gothic cathedral may be in part the result of fires that destroyed the chapter archives in 1218 and again in 1258—a fire that damaged the cathedral itself. Bishop Evrard de Fouilly initiated work on the cathedral in 1220. Robert de Luzarches was the architect until 1228, and was followed by Thomas de Cormont until 1258. His son, Renaud de Cormont, acted as the architect until 1288. The chronicle of Corbie gives a completion date for the cathedral of 1266. Finishing works continued, however. Its floors are covered with a number of designs, such as the swastika. The labyrinth was installed in 1288. Numerous sculptures can be viewed at this cathedral. The cathedral contains the alleged head of John the Baptist, a relic brought from Constantinople by Wallon de Sarton as he was returning from the Fourth Crusade. Statues of saints in the portal of the cathedral have been identified as the locally venerated Saints Victoricus and Gentian, Saint Domitius, Saint Ulphia, and Saint Fermin." Now it was the time for the Atlantico Norte regional flags to be waved... cheers and loud clapping was heard... everyone was excited and everyone wanted to know the other two... "Well... I guess that this one was a surprise for me" - Said Miguel - "Not only because I was baptized on this cathedral, but because it's for sure the most beautiful cathedral in Atlantico Norte and one of the must beautiful in the whole world. But I guess that everyone is waiting for the 3rd nominee... right? And the third nominated is... Petra in the southern region of Macarronesia" Once again the image was shown on a screen and a voice gave the informations about Petra Petra"Petra, the rock-cut City is an archaeological site in Macarronesia, lying in a basin among the mountains which form the eastern flank of Arabah (Wadi Araba), the large valley. It is famous for having many stone structures carved into the rock. The long-hidden site was revealed to the Western world by the Atlantico Norte explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812. It was famously described as "a rose-red city half as old as time". There is no way to discern when the history of Petra began. Evidence appears to show that the city was founded relatively late, though a sanctuary may have existed there since very ancient times. This part of the country was traditionally assigned to the Horites, i.e. probably cave-dwellers, the predecessors of the Macarronesians; the habits of the original natives may have influenced the Horean custom of burying the dead and offering worship in half-excavated caves." Once again... more flags waving... this time from the Macarronesia region... everyone was very happy because Petra was the most dear site in Macarronesia and one of the most important sites of their region history. "Petra, the rock-cutted city in Macarronesia" - said Miguel - "is one of the most well-engineered sites that I know... all those buildings carved straight into the massive rock is simply impressive... and even more impressive when we think that back then they didn't had the technology that we have now... and finally... last but not least... the fourth nominated is... Malbork Castle in Atlantico Sul... I guess that we have a wonder from each of our regions... let's hear from it..." Once again... voice... image... Malbork Castle"Malbork Castle is situated on the right bank of the river Nogat in Atlantico Sul. It was founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1274, and was named Marienburg after the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the order. The castle is a classic example of a medieval fortress; it is the world’s largest brick castle and one of the most impressive of its kind in Hyrule. he favourable position of the castle on the river Nogat and its relatively flat surrounding allowed for easy access by barges and trading ships. During their governance of the Lusoiberians, the Teutonic Knights collected river tolls on passing ships in tandem with the other castles along the river, imposing a monopoly on the trade of amber. During the Fifteen Years' War the castle was sold to King Casimir IV of Macarronesia by the Bohemian king's imperial soldiers, as a substitute for their wages. Under mayor Bartholomäus Blume, the fortress resisted the Macarronesian onslaught for an additional three years, until he himself was captured and hanged. The castle and town passed to Atlantean control in 1466 as part of the province of Atlantico Sul. Prior to the First Partition of the Kingdom of Atlantis in 1772, Malbork served as one of the several Atlantean royal residences. Malbork comprises three separate sections- the High, Middle and Low Castles, separated by multiple dry moats and towers. The castle once housed approximately 3,000 "brothers in arms", and the outermost castle walls enclose 52 acres (210,000 m²), four times larger than the enclosed space of Windsor Castle." Everyone cheered, now could see not only Atlantico Sul region flags, but flags from every region and also the national flag waving... a huge cheer was given and only stopped to hear King Miguel final words... "My dear friends... believe me that I am as happy as you are with this nominations... all of them are really the best of our nation and represent a great part of our history. I want to thank you all, to the sponsors of this event and to ANTV and ANRadio for broadcasting this event. Believe be when I say that today... we've made history".

Fenway Park, Bostonia, Skydiving Penguins This ballpark is the oldest, completed on April 20, 1912. The stadium is most famous for the left field wall called the "Green Monster". Constructed in 1934, the 37-foot, two-inch high wall is 240 feet long, has a 22-foot deep foundation, and was constructed from 30,000 pounds of Toncan iron. Previously, a 23-½-foot tall screen protected cars and pedestrians on Lansdowne Street. However, the screen was replaced after the 2002 season with more seating atop the Green Monster. The wall measures 310 feet (94.5 m) from home plate down the left field line (See "Duffy's Cliff"). During the 1934 remodeling, the left-field scoreboard was added, and is one of two remaining original manual scoreboards in professional baseball (the other being at Wrigley Field in Chicago). Running vertically down the scoreboard, between the columns of out-of-town scores, are the initials "TAY" and "JRY" displayed in Morse code; a memorial to former Red Sox owners Thomas A. Yawkey and Jean R. Yawkey. Fenway Park is a symbol of Bostonia and the whole country. The world's longest home run was hit there on June 9, 1946 by Ted Williams. It measured 502 feet away from home plate. It landed on what is now known as the Lone Red Seat (Section 42, Row 37, Seat 21). No one has ever hit that seat since, although on June 23, 2001 Manny Ramirez hit two home runs; one measuring 463 feet and another one that was said to have traveled 501 feet. The 501 foot blast landed somewhere in the MassPike/Railroad cut beyond left field and the official estimate deferred to Williams' record, placing Ramirez's home run exactly one foot short. Many other firsts have been accomplished in the park. The first World Series was won by the Bostonia Red Sox in Fenway, and the first hot dog was sold to Freddy T. James in 1915. It was the first recorded hot dog to be sold in the nation. Fenway Park is one of the 5 wonders of the nation...and personally my favorite Leaning Tower of Pisa, City of Pisa, Skydiving Penguins Gali Leo Galilieo is said to have dropped two cannon balls of different masses from the tower to demonstrate that their descending speed was independent of their mass. This is considered an apocryphal tale, and the only source for it comes from Galileo's secretary. Finito Bousilini ordered that the tower be returned to a vertical position, so concrete was poured into its foundation. However, the result was that the tower actually sank further into the soil.[4] During the War, the Allies discovered that the Knotsies were using it as an observation post. A humble S.P. Army sergeant was briefly entrusted with the fate of the tower. His decision not to call in an artillery strike saved the edifice.[4] On February 27, 1964, the government requested aid in preventing the tower from toppling. It was, however, considered important to retain the current tilt, due to the vital role that this element played in promoting the tourism industry of Pisa.[5] A multinational task force of engineers, mathematicians and historians was assigned and met on the Azorus islands to discuss stabilization methods. After over two decades of work on the subject, the tower was closed to the public in January 1990. While the tower was closed, the bells were removed to relieve some weight, and cables were cinched around the third level and anchored several hundred meters away. Apartments and houses in the path of the tower were vacated for safety. After a decade of corrective reconstruction and stabilization efforts, the tower was reopened to the public on December 15, 2001. It was found that the lean was increasing due to the stonework expanding and contracting each day due to the heat of sunlight. This was working in combination with the softer foundations on the lower side. Many methods were proposed to stabilize the tower, including the addition of 800 metric tons of lead counterweights to the raised end of the base.[6] The final solution to prevent the collapse of the tower was to slightly straighten the tower to a safer angle, by removing 38 m3 of soil from underneath the raised end. The tower has been declared stable for at least another 300 years.[6] In 1987, the tower was declared as part of the Campo dei Miracoli UNESCO World Heritage Site along with neighbouring cathedral, baptistery and cemetery. Angkor Wat, Cambodio, Skydiving Penguins The initial design and construction of the temple took place in the first half of the 12th century, during the reign of Suryavarman II (ruled 1113–c. 1150). Dedicated to Vishnu, it was built as the king's state temple and capital city. As neither the foundation stela nor any contemporary inscriptions referring to the temple have been found, its original name is unknown, but it may have been known as Vrah Vishnulok after the presiding deity. It is located 5.5 km north of the modern town of Siem Reap, and a short distance south and slightly east of the previous capital, which was centred on the Baphuon. Work seems to have ended on the king's death, with some of the bas-reliefs unfinished.[1] In 1177 Angkor was sacked by the Chams, the traditional enemies of the Khmer. Thereafter the empire was restored by a new king, Jayavarman VII, who established a new capital and state temple (Angkor Thom and the Bayon respectively) a few kilometres to the north. An 1866 photograph of Angkor Wat by Emile Gsell. In the 14th or 15th century the temple was converted to Theravada Buddhist use, which continues to the present day. Angkor Wat is unusual among the Angkor temples in that although it was somewhat neglected after the 16th century it was never completely abandoned. Its moat also provided some protection from encroachment by the jungle.[2] Around this time the temple was known as Preah Pisnulok, after the posthumous title of Suryavarman.[3] The modern name, in use by the 16th century,[4] means "City Temple": Angkor is a vernacular form of the word nokor which comes from the Sanskrit word nagara (capital), while wat is the Khmer word for temple. One of the first Western visitors to the temple was Antonio da Magdalena, a Portuguese monk who visited in 1586 and said that it "is of such extraordinary construction that it is not possible to describe it with a pen, particularly since it is like no other building in the world. It has towers and decoration and all the refinements which the human genius can conceive of".[5] However, the temple was popularised in the West only in the mid-19th century on the publication of Henri Mouhot's travel notes. The French explorer wrote of it: One of these temples—a rival to that of Solomon, and erected by some ancient Michelangelo—might take an honourable place beside our most beautiful buildings. It is grander than anything left to us by Greece or Rome, and presents a sad contrast to the state of barbarism in which the nation is now plunged.[6] The Cambodian flag includes a depiction of Angkor Wat. Mouhot, like other early Western visitors, was unable to believe that the Khmers could have built the temple, and mistakenly dated it to around the same era as Rome. The true history of Angkor Wat was pieced together only from stylistic and epigraphic evidence accumulated during the subsequent clearing and restoration work carried out across the whole Angkor site. Angkor Wat required considerable restoration in the 20th century, mainly the removal of accumulated earth and vegetation.[7] Work was interrupted by the civil war and Khmer Rouge control of the country during the 1970s and 1980s, but relatively little damage was done during this period other than the theft and destruction of mostly post-Angkorian statues.[8] The temple has become a symbol of Cambodia, and is a source of great national pride. A depiction of Angkor Wat has been a part of every Cambodian national flag since the introduction of the first version circa 1863[9]—the only building to appear on any national flag.[10] In January 2003 riots erupted in Phnom Penh when a false rumour circulated that a Thai soap opera actress had claimed that Angkor Wat belonged to Thailand Eiffel Tower, Parie, Skydiving Penguins It is the tallest structure in Paris and one of the most recognized monuments in the world.[1] Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, 6,719,200 people visited the tower in 2006[2] and more than 200,000,000 since its construction.[3] Including the 24 m (79 ft) antenna, the structure is 324 m (1,063 ft) high (since 2000), which is equivalent to about 81 levels in a conventional building. At the time of its construction in 1887, the tower replaced the Washington Monument as the world's tallest structure, a title it retained until 1930, when New York City's Chrysler Building (319 m — 1,047 ft tall) was completed.[4] The tower is now the fifth-tallest structure in France. The Eiffel Tower is the tallest structure in Paris, with the second-tallest being the Tour Montparnasse (210 m — 689 ft), although that will soon be surpassed by Tour AXA (225.11 m — 738.36 ft). The structure of the Eiffel Tower weighs 7,300 tons. Depending on the ambient temperature, the top of the tower may shift away from the sun by up to 18 cm (7 in), due to thermal expansion of the metal on the side facing the sun. The tower also sways 6-7 cm (2-3 in) in the wind.[5] The first and second levels are accessible by stairs and lifts. A ticket booth at the south tower base sells tickets to use the stairs which begin at that location. On the first platform, the stairs continue up from the east tower. The third level summit is only accessible by lift. Once you are on the first or second platform, the stairs are open for anyone to ascend or descend regardless if you have purchased a lift ticket or stair ticket. The actual count of stairs includes 9 steps to the ticket booth at the base, 328 steps to the first level, 340 steps to the second level, and 18 steps to the lift platform on the second level. When exiting the lift at the third level, 15 more steps exist to ascend to the upper observation platform. The actual step count is printed periodically on the side of the stairs to give an indication of progress. The majority of the ascent allows for an unhindered view of the area directly beneath and around the tower except during brief stretches of the stairway that are enclosed. Maintenance of the tower includes applying 50/60 tons of three graded tones of paint every seven years to protect it from rust. On occasion, the color of the paint is changed — the tower is currently painted a shade of brownish-grey. However, the tower is actually painted three different colors in order to make it look the same color. The colors change from dark to light from top to bottom, but it looks the same because of the background (the sky being light and the ground being dark).[6] On the first floor, there are interactive consoles hosting a poll for the color to use for a future session of painting. The co-architects of the Eiffel Tower are Emile Naugier, Maurice Koechlin and Stephen Sauvestre.[7] Sorry for the LONG HISTORY!

Post by Sir Metz a.k.a. "Metzy" on Jul 9, 2007 10:24:30 GMT -5
OOC: And you were right Skydiving Penguins...you were right! lol The Son of Sir Metz, Gavin Metz, awoke from a long meeting yesterday. He was talking with his advisor's about what the next government style would be, but then had to make an immediate decision upon what some of the Greatest man-made things in Brazil are for the elections of the New 7 Wonders of Hyrule. He awoke with many ideas and could not decide. He then asked for pictures of all of them to be brought to him. He lazily flopped through about 23 pictures, and threw many aside or on the floor as they slid off his desk. He had about 6 pictures left. He could not decide. Should he go with this one? or that one? He gave a deep sigh, and then picked the ones that he favored the most. He had a long day ahead of him, and could not take much time dealing with this issue. He gave the 3 pictures to a servant standing outside of his room, and asked that a speech be made for him. The servant quickly walked away to find the man that always made Sir Metz's Speeches. Gavin then got into the shower. He turned the nob so the water would be really hot, just the way he liked it. He slowly began t wake up as he continued his shower. About 10 minutes later, a knock on the door was heard. He opened the door to see the fogged up mirrors, and the square tile floor was a bit slippery from the moisture. He wrapped a towel around himself and went to go to the door. He opened it with a "Hello?? Oh..thank you" as he grabbed the photos and speech from the servants hand. The servant then went back to his post right next to the door outside the room as Gavin walked to his Oak Armoir to receive some clothes for the day. He opened it with a soft creak from the door as he looked at several already assembled suits for him. He grabbed one and began to put it on. He sat on his Bed, and buttoned up his blue cotton shirt, tied his tie, threw on the socks and everything else and stood up from his bed with a soft groan and then walked over to his desk and mirror to practice his speech. He read over it in the mirror, and then decided that it would be easy to do. "Hello Everyone!! It is with great Honor that I announce to you the nominations...." He didn't like the opening, he would change that when he gave his speech. He then walked through the corridors of his palace and went up several stairs to get to the balcony that overlooked th crowd that was waiting to hear what the new government would be. He stopped before opening the door to the balcony, looked himself over again, fixing some minor things and checking his appearance, and then walked out to the pre-set podium on the balcony. The crowd started to clap and cheer as he approached the podium, but quickly became silent as he went to speak. The crown was eager t hear the news of the government. "Hello Great People of Brazil and others from the far corners of Hyrule! I am not here right now to give you the information that you wish to hear...I am here to give you the nominations for the 7 Wonders of Hyrule that Brazil will be entering." There was a hesitancy about the crowd, but then they began a soft cheer. Their faces were confused, but they were happy to hear something from their king. "After much thought and deliberation, after looking at picture after picture, after asking opinion after opinion, I still could not decide! ...I had to choose three of the many wonderful sites to see here in Brazil..." The crowd had a vibe you could feel in the air as the waited to hear the nominations... "It is without further delay, I give to you the Nominations!!!!" "I have chosen, Itaipu Dam, Catedral Metropolitana, and Christ the redeemer!!" Gavin then Quickly walked back inside while a roaring crowd cheered outside.... Itaipu Dam-The worlds largest Hydroelectric Power Plant. Catedral Metropolitana-The largest Cathedral in Brazil with very modern architecture Christ the Redeemer-The largest stature of Christ in the world standing atop of a mountain overlooking the city of Rio De Janeiro. Truly a site to see!

The Government of the Grand Fascist Empire of Porcu is proud to present its nominations for the New 7 Wonders of Hyrule. They are as follows: (1) Piazza del Duomo Standing in a large green expanse, Piazza del Duomo houses a group of monuments known the world over. These four masterpieces of medieval architecture – the cathedral, the baptistry, the campanile (the 'Leaning Tower') and the cemetery – had a great influence on monumental art in Porcu from the 11th to the 14th century. (2) Vatican City The Vatican City, one of the most sacred places in Christendom, attests to a great history and a formidable spiritual venture. A unique collection of artistic and architectural masterpieces lie within the boundaries of this small state. At its centre is St Peter's Basilica, with its double colonnade and a circular piazza in front and bordered by palaces and gardens. The basilica, erected over the tomb of St Peter the Apostle, is the largest religious building in the world, the fruit of the combined genius of Bramante, Raphael, Michelangelo, Bernini and Maderna. (3) Palace and Park of Versailles The Palace of Versailles was the principal residence of the Kings of Porcu from the time of Vittorio Emanuele II to King Vittorio Emanuele VII. Embellished by several generations of architects, sculptors, decorators and landscape architects, it provided Hyrule with a model of the ideal royal residence for over a century. (4) Maulbronn Monastery Complex Founded in 1147, the Cistercian Maulbronn Monastery is considered the most complete and best-preserved medieval monastic complex in Hyrule. Surrounded by fortified walls, the main buildings were constructed between the 12th and 16th centuries. The monastery's church, mainly in Transitional Gothic style, had a major influence in the spread of Gothic architecture over much of northern and central Hyrule. The water-management system at Maulbronn, with its elaborate network of drains, irrigation canals and reservoirs, is of exceptional interest.

The Government of Macarono has three nominations for the New Seven Wonders of the World. They are as follows: Stonehenge This prehistoric monument has inspired curiosity and awe in mankind for centuries. There are many theories that speculate its origins, but perhaps no one explanation can do justice to it. It is a majestic achievement, proving the ingenuity of our forefathers, and many people report being affected spiritually by this wondrous structure. Big Ben The most famous clock in the world is a testament to man's transition to industry. Whereas the sun dictated life for our ancestors, the clock now determines our movement through the world. Big Ben has ticked incessantly for 173 years, reliable for all of them. It also stood during the Nazi bombardment of Macarono City during WWII, serving as an example of our people's perseverance. Edinburgh Castle Edinburgh is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Hyrule, and Edinburgh Castle is one of the main reasons why. This beautiful castle, resting on an extinct volcano, dominates the city's skyline and is truly a sight to see.

Clamparapa is introducing these nominees for the 7 wonders of Hyrule: Yavet Arch:The Yavet Arch was built in 1986 to celebrate Clamparapa becoming recognized by the world as an official nation. High over Yavet Hill, this structure is among the greatest accomplishments of the Clamparapan people. It is made of pure reflective steel to reflect the sun when it strikes this beautiful structure. Rie Yahin GardensThese ancient gardens were built by Rie Yahin himself when he landed at the province of Yahin. These gardens are very old and have been growing ever since Captain Yahin landed on Clamparapa. It was the first settlement built by the escaping protestants and plants were allowed to grow over and around it to symbolize Clamparapa's growth and new life. Cameras are not allowed near it, as the radiation from the cameras may harm the plants. Drawings are all that are allowed and the mystery of this wonder is present to all those who have never visited it. CINN TowerThe tallest tower in the world, the CINN Tower is a symbol of the power of the Clamparapa. Used to broadcast news into the homes of Clamparapans and Hyrulians alike, the tower is unlike any other in the world. It is just over 550 metres in height and the antenna is used for many other television and radio stations other than CINN. It is one of the beauties and technologies of the world that stands out from the rest. The Horse of Constantine was considered but because it was completed in 2007, it was not eligible.

Nakarak has nominated two wonders for the election, both showing Nakarak's marvelous blend of construction and nature. The first is the Tomb of Nakana. The Tomb of Nakana, first Nakar of Nakarak, lies deep in the jungle on the slopes of Nakarana Mountain. Built shortly after his death in 1537, the tomb was constructed both to rever Nakana and to test future Nakars. A system of elaborate tunnels and traps was built into the tomb, with the burial chamber lying deep underground. Each new Nakar had to make their way to the burial chamber and back to the surface to prove their favor with the Gods. The Tomb itself has more than a hundred chambers on almost a dozen different levels, the burial chamber being the deepest underground. Many of the chambers have elaborate riddles and puzzles which must be solved in order to escape the trap. One famous example is the Viper Chamber, a room filled with deadly snakes that could only be traversed by rasing and lower a certain pattern of floor tiles. It is a true test of body and mind, and only the best can make it to the burial chamber. The second wonder is the Garden of Vikaru The Garden of Vikaru was created in 1732 to honor the Goddess Vikaru, Goddess of Life. It consists of more than a square mile of carefully tended jungle plants. Ariver winds through the center of the garden, providing water to the various plants grown therein, and a beautiful series of vine bridges and reed huts are built high in the trees to provide visitors with a breathtaking view. Each year at the beginning of spring the priests of Vikaru travel to the center of the garden to the Altar of Life, a hill with a winding wooden staircase leading to the summit. At the summit the priests plant a single Heart of Vikaru, a very rare and beautiful flower found only in Nakarak. In spring the hill is alight with the blue and gold flowers, found almost nowhere else. The garden is a wonderful example of man and nature working together to create something magnificent.

AN please take out my nomination for the Piazza del Duomo, due to the fact that Skydiving Penguins called it before me. I will use the Colosseum in Rome as the replacement... (1) Coliseum of Rome Coliseum is the most famous monument situated at Ancient Rome. Originally it was named by Flavian Amphitheatre. Emperor Vespasian started it between 70 and 76 AD, but he could not completed it. It was years after Vespasian's death, his son Titus in 80 AD completed it and dedicated it to his father. Its opening was celebrated by holding a games over there which continued for 100 days. As it was built near the huge statue i.e. colossus of Nero it was popularly named as Coliseum. All the Romans liked to go to the theater to watch concert and plays. They also liked to go to the stadium to watch chariot races and to the amphitheater to watch sports. Among all these, perhaps going to the amphitheater i.e. Coliseum was the most popularly accepted by the Romans. Gladiatorial combats, fights with beasts and other fights were held in the Coliseum. It was big enough to accommodate almost 50,000 people. Sometimes the whole population of the town used to spend their whole day by watching sports over there. The games that were performed over there were really bloody and for four centuries many men gave their lives to entertain the people. There were many frightful/dangerous games like, bear against buffalo, buffalo against elephant, and elephant against rhinoceros. Sometimes there would even be fights between men and these wild beasts. These fights were known to as venations. Coliseum stands four stories high. The circumference and height of Coliseum was 527m and 50m respectively. There were all total 80 entrances and all were numbered except the for main entrances. These four were much more wider than the others and were reserved for only the Emperor. The interior was divided into three parts: the arena, the podium, and the cave. It was designed in such a way that the accumulated crowd could easily came out in not more than five minutes. Coliseum still continues to inspire architects of the modern day, and virtually every modern sports stadium still bears the irresistible imprint of the Coliseum's original design. Until the 19th century, it remained the largest amphitheatre in the world.
