Barcelona
Far above in the sky, the fighter aircraft of the Southern States of America and the 'Nationalist' forces could be seen furiously battling for supremacy over Barcelona, with the American aerial forces gaining a slight edge over Franco's aircraft in numbers and experience. Reinforced by incoming air forces flying in from the American-occupied Balearic Islands and twin fleets in the Mediterranean, the American force could more than easily hold their own in a fight against Franco's relatively inexperienced forces. As usual, General 'Stonewall' Jackson was hard at work overseeing the defense of Barcelona and Catalonia with the massive American Expeditionary Force, fortifying the city of Barcelona and the surrounding territory with a bristling array of minefields and temporary bunkers. With a force of nearly 300,000 battle-hardened American Marines and National Guardsmen (accompanied with a fresh division of American-trained 'Republican' volunteers), Stonewall Jackson was more than ready to 'lure' the attacking enemy Spaniards into a pitched battle within Catalonia, and felt that the war would soon wind down to a close.
"Philip!" bellowed Jackson, calling to his most trusted Captain from the command desk of his reinforced bunker, "Give me a complete briefing of our situation.. Stat!"
"General Jackson," replied Captain Philip, snapping to attention in front of the eccentric old man, "the Nationalists are at the verge of breaking, and Franco is attempting to make his last gamble at 'winning' this war with an all-or-nothing assault on the city of Barcelona! While they are equal to us in strength, our training, logistics, firepower, and superior skill will be more than enough to slap that silly bastard out of his vain dreams of 'triumphing' over our forces!"
"Excellent..." muttered Jackson, glancing over the map of Franco's forces positioning in the outskirts of Barcelona, "I trust that Franco is poising himself for an attack on our positions.. All the better for us, for we know where his forces are massed and where this scumbag is..."
"Inform Admiral Falconer to bombard the areas around Barcelona with his two fleets; cruise missile and heavy cannon all places where Franco's forces have been massed.. After we've welcomed his back to Barcelona, order several armored divisions (the 13th, 14th, and 2nd National Guard Divisions) to drive into his motley force and slaughter anything they see... I intend to end this bothersome matter here and now, and show the world the power of the Southern States of America."

S.S. Freedom
Upon receiving the order to bombard Jackson's requested areas with "as much damn hellfire as possible" from Admiral Falconer himself, the massive Iowa Class battleship 'Freedom' swiftly (along with the rest of the massive fleet) turned its massive 406mm main guns towards the mainland, blasting away with furious force. Launching dozens of 406mm shells at enemy positions from a range of nearly seventeen miles away, the battleship squadron attached to Falconer's massive fleet most certainly wreaked havoc on the enemy forces massed around Barcelona.
Adjacent to the battleship squadron, the rest of Falconer's fleet joined in the lethal fusilade, with destroyers and cruisers alike launching precise Tomahawk cruise missile strikes with pinpoint accuracy. Back on the mainland, "Stonewall Jackson's" countless artillery emplacements were responding in kind to the orchestra of battle, blasting 203mm artillery rounds from the mobile howitzer positions hidden within the city.
Clearly, the American forces would not just sit around and wait to be stung..
